Can someone tell me if the yogurt (I think it comes with the kids meals?) has a brand name and flavor? My daughter loved it when we were there last week.

Hi everyone,

We arrived at POP on Saturday. We had done online checkin requesting 60s near transportation. We were given 70s. Check in went smoothly and everyone was very friendly. I have to admit I was not in the best of moods when we got here and I was kind of wishing we had stayed at ASMovies. I just wasn't feeling the magic upon arrival at POP. It was soooo hot when we arrived, and if you don't know the parking lot for 70s is somewhat FAR if you are in an interior building. I was trying to remember why I packed all that luggage on the 3rd trip back to the car! We are right by the big wheel.

Got the tye dye cheesecake for a snack as soon as we got here, and was not impressed, but did I mention how HOOOTTTT it was?? I doubt anything could have made me happy. I am going to give it another shot sometime this week.

I had a hard time adjusting to a double bed from a king bed, but at least the beds are comfortable. We have eaten in the food court once. I got the veggie lasagna and it was ok. I would try something else next time though. The arcade is very nice - they actually have couches which is a life saver for me. I really don't like arcades and the rest of my family does and I have never been to an arcade that had seating before so this was fabulous for me. They also have a coloring area in there. It is very clean and the staff is attentive. We used the hippy dippy pool last night around 8 and it was FREEZING, but that did not stop my daughter. Haha. It was very, very crowded. The pool is cute, but we are going to try one of the other ones next time.

Bus service has been good. It is very busy, so we have had to stand a few times, but we also decided to wait for another bus instead of standing this morning and we only waited about 10 to 15 minutes.

The fridge works pretty good - don't expect ice cold drinks, but they will be moderately cold.

The wireless has been very spotty - I have to keep reconnecting but hey at least it works.

Well, that is all I can think of right now. I am glad we tried this resort. After getting through that first day and settling in, everything has been great. :)

It is Dannon Danimals crush cups as of today. (Strawberry)

How long is the walk from the '90s section to Classic Hall? We'd rather not walk through the parking lot. I'd prefer the '50s, but most of the people in our party would really enjoy the '80s or '90s section. I'm having flashbacks to our stay in the pirate rooms at CBR, and don't want to be walking that far again!!! :scared1: Please tell me it won't be that bad!!!

It is nothing like CBR. That placed traumatized me for life. Lol. I was already tired by the time we got to a park. My kids still pick on me about how much I hated CBR.

They're ok for short/thin hair. If you want to dry long/thick hair you will want to bring our own.

I have long thick hair (down to my mid back.... I used to say down to my .. um.. bosoms....but that keeps getting lower..:confused3:rotfl:) anyhow, I never bring a hair dryer. I found they work fine for me.

tosha,.you don't need to lug your bags to your room! just call bell services. it is free (It is expected to tip, though).

try the shrimp Lo Mein. I loved it!!!

I too hated CBR. We has a preferred room and it was a hike to dining hall. There is no lobby so an early morning reader had to sit outside to read.

We check in in a few days and I hear it's really hot. I am not looking forward to that but will deal with it. You know it'ss hot when you step out of your room and are sweating by the time you walk to the bus stop. I have frogg togg and personal fan but I am not sure they will help.

I did online check in and requested 50's ground floor. We have preferred room and are checking in at 7am. I hope the room is ready. Last time we got a room at 7am, other times they have none ready.

Have a great time, maybe we will see you there. Stay cool!

We are staying at Pop for the first time in September with free dining:cool1: When we first started planning we had wanted to stay at Pop this time. First time at a value. We've previously stayed at deluxe or moderate. Then we looked and AoA is opening the LM rooms in September and free dining was available. However, we didn't book and by the time we were ready to book (only several days later) free dining was filled for the LM rooms. Just being the 2 of us we don't need a suite. I was bummed about not staying at AoA but we wanted the convenience of the dining. However after reading this thread I'm excited about staying at Pop. :goodvibes

You'll love Pop, it's a fun place. We will be there in September too for free dining.

:yay:And for the countdown update.................(drumroll please.....)

2804 minutes as of 9:16am EST

That's only 168,240 seconds~~!!!!!!!! :teacher::happytv:

:yay::banana:

I cannot wait to surprise my little guy here in less than two days!

Ralph - wow! your trip is almost here!! So now we can quote in seconds! :)

Have a great time!

So, you have to request a refrigerator? They aren't in all of the rooms now?

As EpcotBill stated, no you do not have to request, mini fridges are in all the rooms. :goodvibes That was my error, just forgot to delete that line when cutting and pasting. :upsidedow

3 days to lift-off! Still have a couple little things to pick up (went through all my summer clothes yesterday -- 7-year old shorts with no elastic left will NOT come on my vacation).

Erin, this line cracked me up! I just went thru my shorts over the weekend, and came across some shorts like yours! :rotfl2: Needless to say I promptly went out to Kohls and bought 4 new pair of shorts!!

If I have a real special request, like trying to stay in the same room for 2 reservations (first night is a room only, the next 8 are part of a package), should I still do online checkin? I've had the 2 CMs tell me that they will try their best to keep me in the same room, but of course it isn't guaranteed. I called and made my requests the other day (Bldg 5, 4th floor, lakeview) on both reservations, but it's still giving me the online checkin option and I'm wondering if I should do it or not?

And does anyone know how it works with our KTTW cards? Will I get new ones the next day when our package officially starts, or will I just have to go down and have our tickets and meals added?

Oh, one more thing. Is there an iron and ironing board in the room? I don't remember from last time.

THANKS so much for the help!

I have a question that may sound strange to some, but I'll ask anyway. :rolleyes2

Since we are visiting from abroad, I wanted to make use of the opportunity and do some minor shopping at Walmart (or maybe a nearby mall) as well.
Would you recommend using public transportation (Lynx Bus) from DTD? I would use that on our way to Walmart and maybe a taxi on our way back to DTD. A taxi both ways would probably cost us too much to make it worth the trip.

TIA for your opinions. :)

Nothing?? :sad1:

Nothing?? :sad1:

Maybe try the Transportation board? They might have some answers for you. Sorry! I've never done that.

JanetB, I went out and bought 3 pairs yesterday... have to conserve the cash since DH is out of work (but!!!! two phone interviews coming still this week, both jobs he is excited about -- let's hope I have some good hopeful news before I leave).

Tnx! Will do.

My husband ended up doing the taxi thing. It was kind of pricey to walmart but saved a ton since he didn't have to buy his beer from the bar in the end. I told him this time just have the taxi driver go to publix. We don't need a cooler this time. But I think PP gave you some great advice to ask the transportation boards.

I stayed in the 90s on my first trip to Pop -- yes, it's through the parking lot, and can be quite a hike (it felt like miles when I would come back after a long day at the park).

You will have many different views on the subject of how close/far away the rooms are from Classic Hall. Remember that Pop is fairly compact; most rooms are about a 4-8 minute walk. We stayed in the 80s (bldg 9, end room, closest to the 70s) and while it was a slightly longer walk than our previous stay, did not feel it was great. (This location is not in the area where you would cut thru the parking lot).

Note: Some rooms, in bldg 7 (80s/90s) and bldg 2 (50s) will be a bit further to Classic Hall, especially if you are in the back section of each bldg (by the parking lot).

If your group would like to stay in the 80s/90s, request bldg 9, especially the back section... you may be surprised at the close promixity you have to tranpo and Classic Hall. :goodvibes

:cool1: Hope you have as much fun as we do at POP!! :hippie:

And, just a thought to throw out there ... if you really want AoA, keep calling Disney ... as you may know, guests are allowed to make changes even after the promo ends, as long as rooms are available under the code. Since guests do change daily, a LM room may open up for your dates. :)

 Happy that you are settling in and things are looking up. :thumbsup2

A note about the Hippy Dippy Pool .... it tends to be cooler than the other 2 because of the flower sprayers so if you try either the computer (you may be closer to this one than the 50s) you should find it warmer. :goodvibes

We know HOT as well ... we go in August, and we just accept it! Hope it cools down a bit.

Enjoy!!

 Hope those phone interviews go well ... who knows??? The biggest problem he may face is receiving 2 offers and deciding between the two!! :goodvibes Hope ALL goes well!!

BTW ... I'm sure you got those shorts on a good sale, didn't you?? :)

We're in the double digits - 98 days to Pop! We're paying for our flights with consignment sale money and I am proud to announce we have one entire round trip flight paid with just two weeks worth of sales!!

I cannot wait for my ADRs. :)

Have you made your ADRs already? You should be able to do it at the 180 day mark. If you haven't, I recomend doing it as soon as you know what you want :)
