Disney but make it Paris! ~ an August 2025 adventure. updated 10/21

I enjoyed DLP when we went in 1998 but it was so different to what it is today and we also visited Paris with all it had to offer. My husband says he will never be back to DLP but my daughter would like to take the kids to meet Mickey while they’re still young and for her it’s so much easier/affordable to do a short trip there so like you we will wait and see what the next few years bring. It’s so hard though isn’t it.
We really loved our time in Paris. Plus the river cruise was spectacular!!! It wasn't that there weren't parts of DLP that I enjoyed, it's just that it wasn't my "bubble". You know.... sometimes I feel silly being upset over what is essentially a first world problem. I have a happy life with my family, my career, many places to travel to etc etc. I just miss my happy place.
Sometimes being a grown up and standing by your principles is hard! Sending love 🥰
ETA my youngest son found a playlist of the music from World Showcase for me to listen to. I am currently heading over the bridge from France to the UK :goodvibes ❤️
Definitely hard...but if we didn't have principles we stood up for, what kind of people would we be. I love that your son found the World Showcase music for you. I will have to look that up. ♥️

I’ll see if I can send you the link though have to admit sometimes technology and I don’t get along :rotfl:

I am totally with you on this. We are very lucky people indeed but that doesn’t mean we don’t feel a wee bit sad too

Is it really the best Big Thunder Mountain Railroad?

Our first priority was BTMR and I didn't feel like waiting in line so went for priority access. BTMR at DLP is on an island, is definitely a longer ride, has lots of fun twists and turns and is overall a great ride. All that being said, I still like WDW's version better.

Next up was the Lion King show ~ oh my goodness the talent, the stage production and energy of this show were just incredible. There are some similarities with our FotLK but it's very unique in other ways and is definitely a very special show that I highly recommend seeing.

Time for a treat!

After the show was over, we were feeling a bit peckish. The park was pretty crowded and we didn't really feel like riding anything else just then. So we headed out to check out some shops in Disney Village and have a bite to eat. Of course I had to have a photo with the floral Mickey!

I've been a Pandora collector for many years so naturally we had to see what park exclusives they had at the Disney Village Pandora store. I went for Minnie at the Eiffel Tower and love it!

We both wanted to sit outdoors and enjoy the beautiful day. So we decided upon La Petite Rosalie situated right on Lake Disney. We both went for a Spritz with Bill opting for a St Germain Spritz while I went for my favourite Aperol Spritz.

We decided to share the Rosalie board which was a basket of hearty farmhouse bread along with prosciutto, salami, cheese and French butter. It was a perfect afternoon pick me up.

When we got back to the hotel we discovered there was a test corridor for the new design on our floor. Here's the old look....

And here's the new....

I really like it! We were looking forward to relaxing a bit before heading out to Studios and dinner at Bistro Chez Remy! That's next.
:)

Definitely sensing the overall disappointment coming through in this TR. I totally get it - I felt something very close to that on my last trip to DLP. Still loved it and had a magical time, just didn't get the same feels as my happy place (which for me is HKDL).

Looks like a decent upgrade coming for Sequoia Lodge. Shame it wasn't quite in time for your trip (or my trip!).

Love that Pandora charm too. I was so hoping they'd have a Mickey/Minnie Eiffel Tower! Now the big question is... will it go on my Mickey & Minnie bracelet or my Disney parks bracelet? :rotfl:
