Please share your EASY & Delicious crockpot recipe

Very easy roast:

Put roast in (any kind). Sprinkle one packet of Lipton Onion Soup mix on top. Cover with one can of Cream of Mushroom Soup. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. It makes its own gravy that is YUMMY. I usually serve it with rice or mashed potatoes.

This is a family staple that my mom made when I was little and we still make.

My new recipe is for Pork Roast. 1 Can cranberry sauce, 1 cup apple cider, 1tsp ginger, 1tsp garlic, and 1 tsp mustard powder. Place roast in crock , mix together the rest of the ingredients and pour on the roast. Cover and cook 6-7 hours on low. Remove roast, take 2 cups of sauce out and thicken in a sauce pan with a couple of teaspoons of cornstarch. Serve with roast....yum, yum.

I've used the liner before but I felt it left our entree tasting like plastic. I believe I used the one made by Reynolds. Anyone find one that they like?

IA - I seldom use the Reynold's plastic liners unless I'm on vacation and don't want to dal w/ a mess. The rest of the family is on vacation, why should I have to cook and clean up every meal? So I use them anyway o reduce my time in the kitchen when I family is in the pool ;)

Red Pepper Chicken (from a user at tastykitchen.com)
* 4 pieces Boneless Chicken Breasts
* 12 ounces Jar Of Roasted Red Peppers, Partially Drained
* 15 ounces Can Of Diced Tomatoes, Partially Drained
* 15 ounces Can Of Black Beans, Rinsed & Drained
* 1 whole Medium Size Onion, Diced
Combine all; 6 hours on low. Serve over rice.

When i did this, i also added a package of fajita seasoning. it ended up having a LOT more liquid than i expected when it was finished, so next time i will probably drain everything more than "partially". Super easy though, and yummy!

also, some other crock pot threads here on the DIS (i didn't read this whole thread yet, so sorry if i'm repeating)

This is a favorite of my family, and me because it is so easy and sooo good:

1 package country style pork ribs (usually approx 3-4lbs)
1 bottle Sweet Baby Rays barbeque sauce.

Spray the crock pot w/ cooking spray, pour in some of the bbq sauce, add the ribs, pour in the rest of the bbq sauce and cook on low for 8ish hours.

I make rice pilaf in the microwave and then whatever veggie I have on hand and it is a quick dinner that everyone likes... great for those hectic days when you can't really cook a meal.

Hope you enjoy!

I made applesauce from the crock pot for an event today.
INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

* 4 apples - peeled, cored and chopped
* 3/4 cup water
* 1/4 cup white sugar
* 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

DIRECTIONS

I doubled this recipe and made it in my slow cooker. Took about 3-4 hours on high. No need to mash the apples, they mushed on their own.. yummy! *Note, I did have to mash the apples a bit. Some one else suggested putting the cooked apples through a blender as well.
Recipe taken from this page link, http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Sarahs-Applesauce/Detail.aspx.

I liked how the fresh apples tasted. Peeling and coring the apples got tedious, but was worth the effort.

Does it taste salty? just curious with the three seasoning packets used. If not, I may try this recipe this week.

I cook that recipe a lot and don't find it too salty at all. Love it here!

ETA they do have a reduced sodium brown gravy mix that I use with this recipe, too.

Thanks everyone, these recipes look great. I need to use my crockpot more. I am trying to stop eating out so much, with 3 kids it is expensive, and also we do so much running around with activities that it is hard to cook, and I don't want to give them junk food all of the time.

I put a pork loin in and cover with Hoisen sauce. Let it cook about 6 hours on low. I serve it with rice and a veggie.

To make clean-up easier, I suggest you spray the inside of your crock with cooking oil before you put the ingredients in it. I don't like all the chemicals in Pam, so I use a sprayer I bought at Bed, Bath & Beyond and my own canola oil.

Easy & Delicious Recipe--Steak Pizziola
Brown 2 or 3 pounds of trimmed chuck steak in a little oil inside a heavy skillet. While it's browning, put one can crushed tomatoes and then one can of water inside the crock. Add a teaspoon or two of salt and a good sprinkling each of crush red pepper and oregano. Mince a couple of cloves of garlic into the tomatoes, then add the browned meat.

Cook all day on low (8 to 10 hours). About a half hour before you want to serve dinner, put a pot of water to boil on the stove. Remove the meat from the crock and discard any bones. Turn the crock up to high and take the lid off to reduce the sauce some. Cook a pound of rigatoni or spaghetti in the boiling water. Serve with the crock sauce and the meat on the side. I usually serve a salad and Italian bread too.

Pot Roast

Line the bottom of your crock with 3 sliced potatoes and 3 sliced carrots. Season all sides of a 3 to 4 pound bottom round or rump roast. Place on top of potatoes and carrots, then place 2 sliced onions on top of the meat. Pour a can of Campbell's Beef Broth over everything, then cook all day on low (8 to 10 hours).

A half hour before dinner, put a pot of water on to boil. Carefully remove the roast and place on a platter. Stain out the vegetables and arrange around the roast. Cover with foil and strain the liquid from the crock into a saucepan. Bring to a low boil and pour in about 2 tablespoons of corn starch that was dissolved first in an equal amount of cold water. Stir and simmer while you boil a package of egg noodles. I like to improvise with the gravy by adding different stuff until it tastes good--a sprinkling of dry mustard, a dash of Worchestershire, dashes of Maggi seasoning, some horseradish and maybe a spoonful of brandy or whiskey (if I have some in the house).

Butter your noodles and serve them alongside the roast and gravy. We like some pickled red cabbage with this meal too, and salad goes with everything.

Corned Beef

Line your crock with 3 sliced potatoes and 3 sliced carrots. Place a 3 to 4 pound corned beef on top. Add one can or bottle of beer. Sprinkle the seasoning pack that came in your corned beef package on top of the meat. Top with 2 sliced onions, and cook all day on low (8 to 10 hours).

Forty minutes before dinner, cut a head of cabbage into wedges and arrange them in the bottom of a covered skillet. Use a coffee mug to draw a cup of liquid out of the crock and pour it over the cabbage. Cover the skillet and cook over medium heat until the cabbage is tender (about a half hour).

Serve this meal with fresh rye bread you bought at the bakery and grainy mustard.

I make this a lot in the winter time, very yummy. :thumbsup2

French Onion Soup

5 small onions, sliced thinly
1 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoons sugar
1.5 lbs stew meat
3 cans (10.5oz each) beef broth
1 cup apple juice (or dry sherry - I like the apple juice)

-Put onions, butter and sugar in slow cooker. Toss to coat onions and then top with beef. Cook on low 9 to 10 hours to get onions golden brown.

-Stir in broth & apple juice. Cook on high for 10 minutes, or until hot.

-Pour into bread bowls or ovenproof soup bowls. Top with shredded swiss cheese and broil for 3-5 minutes until cheese begins to brown.

Pork, Apples, Brown Sugar & Cinnamon

The recipe calls for 1 1/2 pounds of pork loin. I use 8 boneless pork chops instead.

5 Yellow Delicious Apples, sliced

3 Tablespoons brown sugar

1 Teaspoon ground cinnamon

Place pork chops in crock pot. Place sliced apples on top of pork chops. Sprinkle brown sugar & cinnamon on top.

Cook on low for around 6 hours.

Serve with any kind of rice - white, brown, rice pilaf.....
