pin after booking?

Has anyone ever received a pin after they already have a trip booked? I had a cm tell me that if I already have a trip booked, (which I do), then Disney won't send me any pins. Does anyone know if this is true?

I have gotten at least 2 this year after having booked 2 trips. I was actually able to apply a 40% off one to my October trip. Sending some pixie dust your way for a pin

we got 2 pins after booking our last trip - neither was useful/better than the original discount, so did not require rebooking
