Pics Of the Contemporary Vacation Club!!!!

There could be another explanation for removal of the photos. Their site is not an ecommerce site, but rather just an information dissemination site and is not setup to handle a large influx of traffic. Kind of like going over call minutes on your cell phone (real expensive). Just a thought :confused3

If the only pics you are talking about are the ones in the OP, then they are still there? I just saw them 11:06 EST.

The pics are in this thread, in the very first post, yes.

But I can't find them on the actual architects web site anymore. Just before 10, if you went to their web site, clicked on New Projects, they were shown, with the description, about 6 projects down the page. I don't see them there anymore....

Are you seeing them there?

I think the hallways look really long too
:rotfl2:

and there's going to be a crosswalk over to the tower on the 5 th fl so there will be no need for an elevator. You can just use the ones in the tower.
And from the 5th fl up there will be an extra set of stairs. :rotfl:

I love the new design

Yes, I'm seeing them on the architects website. Under new projects...let me check again...http://www.gwathmey-siegel.com/news/index.html Yup, still there.

Not for me...maybe you're looking at a cached version of the site?

6th project down, for me, is now 240 Park Avenue South.

If you clear your cache (through tools, internet options)...do you still see them?

Edit: I tried clearing mine and I still DON'T see them. I did prior to about 10 AM, but don't now. Weird...

The picture has definitely been removed.... it must be a cached version that you are looking at.

I guess I can understand why they would have pulled the images from the site. I'm sure Disney does not want to slow sales of SSR by posting or disclosing the building of another DVC resort. I know I would think twice before buying SSR if I knew another DVC resort was coming down the road in 2008.

MY guess is that we will hear an official announcement during the October press event.

They must have had a nice note from Disney waiting in their inbox this morning.

Interesting to see it briefly at least, saw it on the website last night, gone this morning. Still agree that this could be one of many projects being bid on by different design firms, although the fact that they posted it with a bunch of projects that are currently under construction might be indicative that they got the job.

I have no doubt that if this is true it will sell fast. However, not for me. I've never liked the theme of the contemporary, never saw the appeal. But to each his own, I can understand for many the contemporary served as a gateway to the Magic Kingdom growing up. Perhaps this will drive down the cost of some BCV/BWV resales? I'd like to add a small contract... :-)

I actually don't think it has a lot to do with SSR sales and more to do with the upcoming press event. Working closely with PR and journalists, I know that a company will go to great lengths to control a story before the press release and press event. A good reason for that is when a story is leaked beforehand, many of the journalists lose interest in covering the story because it no longer has the feel of an exclusive. Typically you brief the press the week or two before the press release goes out. So when you have a press event, the related articles in the press are released at the same time. So you brief the press about an upcoming event where the news is embargoed until the actual press release and event. If the story is well leaked, the press may lose interest in covering the event. For a public company like Disney, they rely on these events to exhibit momentum and keep their name visible. So I think for that reason alone, the design firm was instructed to keep the images under embargo until the press event occurs.

The Vills at the Contempory Resort will bethe newest DCV resort. To be comleted in 2008 they will featue a large semi circular tower to be 15 stories with entertainment options, a stormalong Bay like pool st the courtyard and lots of great MK views.

Dont believe me check out these pics

I can't wait to see but the link won't let me see the pictures.

I wouldn't call it confirmed quite yet although it was fun to look at the drawings yesterday. I'll have to run over to the DVC board to see if anyone knows why it is blocked now.

But anyway some people are guessing that those drawings were just a proposal by that firm. Who knows. Time will tell. :confused3

Remember there are old drawings of other resort on the Seven Seas Lagoon that were never built.

I dont like hte 15 story idea. I'll be happy if they stick it to 5 or 6 floors so it doesn't over shadow the Tempo Bay. I hope they revise those plans, but then again I have to agree that those images shouldnt be considered final. For all we know they were just tinkering with the idea and might back out...

Why do some of these DISNEY websites get filtered out to begin with?
Because they're competitors to the sponsors of this website, the folks paying the costs to support our addiction.

I would hate to see how small the rooms would be if they had to fit the same number of rooms on only 5 or 6 floors, on the same footprint. There just wouldn't be enough space to move around the room! I would suspect that the 15 stories is essential to ensuring that the property would be a worthwhile investment to pursue.

I wonder if this will hurt SSR sales? I also wonder how many will sell SSR to move on up? :stir:
