Pics Of the Contemporary Vacation Club!!!!

They must have had a nice note from Disney waiting in their inbox this morning.

Interesting to see it briefly at least, saw it on the website last night, gone this morning. Still agree that this could be one of many projects being bid on by different design firms, although the fact that they posted it with a bunch of projects that are currently under construction might be indicative that they got the job.

I have no doubt that if this is true it will sell fast. However, not for me. I've never liked the theme of the contemporary, never saw the appeal. But to each his own, I can understand for many the contemporary served as a gateway to the Magic Kingdom growing up. Perhaps this will drive down the cost of some BCV/BWV resales? I'd like to add a small contract... :-)

Maybe someone should call them up and ask ... anyone local to 212?

If it is true what would be the advantages of owning DVC Prior?
And would that be th same if I bought through The Time Share sight here or if I bought directly from Disney only?
There is a slight advantage to being a prior DVC owner-you usually have advance sales, poss. an incentive, and the ability to add on for less than the min 150 point contract that your first purchase through DVC must be(after that you can have 25 point add ons.)
The timeshare store is a broker for resales, so someone would already have to own a dvc property, contact them to sell it for them.
I think if this is something you are really intrested in- you are going to have to go through DVC.

Count me in on this. I'll start banking the money but I bet DVCers do not get any special early on deal. It will be too popular and I'm sure DVC knows it.

I wonder what the lease ending date will be????

Disney could not reasonably step back to the 2042 date and does not need to extend the SSR date because of the probable popularity of CVC. It does look like the resort would be very large and it does seem that the smaller resorts are sometimes the hardest to reserve, so maybe, after it is built out, it will not be excessively difficult to book.

Look for it to be the same as SSR.

Food for thought:

The formula for DVC I was a large anchor resort later augmented by several somewhat smaller properties with the same ending date. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a similar build-out pattern for the remainder of DVC II.

The current rumors regarding new resorts seem to confirm such a hypothesis and I, for one, think it would be great for DVD to put it's program back into "balance" ;).

VCR doesn't look that small though, and could very well me the next anchor for DVC III. The thought of a WEDway between the two structures would be magnificently cool though, and would resolve the access to the Monorail stuff ... though it wouldn't be cool as an actual Monorail station.

AKL would be small ... but then what other smaller resorts could they put out? Other than perhaps the TreeHouse Villas area? maybe a Poly area?

I read somewhere awhile back that the VCR resort was approved and done but would not be the next annouced property. This theory matches well with that.

Wow, what better way to unload inventory than to require that buyers be current owners.:hyper:

Yes, the MK tower view indeed does cost more than Bay view, cannot wait until we check it out in Oct.

Tink - great work, are you employed by the IRS.;)

Not that this would ever happen based on previously-built DVC at existing resorts, but wouldn't it be a nice touch if this project ended up being named Tempo Bay Villas?

Just a thought...

I showed this to my son who just spent his first DVC trip at BCV. His comment was:

"Daddy, why is the pool so small"

He is right and someone else noticed. That is a very small "quiet" pool for such a large building. I hope they plan some other water areas to play in for the kids.

Now thinking like a corporate marketing type:

It seems like an interesting series of events that the pictures are up on site get taken down once actually noticed. I wonder how long they have been up and don't you think Disney would have noticed, if they are working with this firm?

HMMMMMM, I wonder if this just might have all been planned out? Great way of getting the speculation going and building the hype.

We were thinking about that as well ... Viral Marketing-ish ... :bounce:

I'm amazed that was found on the internet. Great job! :thumbsup2

Waiting to see what really takes place.

I on a Mac, so I don't know if this will help, but I just command-clicked on both renderings in post #1 and they were saved to the desktop as jpegs.
