Do you think it will be possible to reach into the fridge for a beer while sitting on the balcony? :smooth:
If so, would that be a bad thing...or a good thing?

I have a feeling that this is what it is. Proposals may have been solicited which would lend credence to the rumor.

(And this may not have won which is why it's on the website. Things they "show off" as examples of thier "creative process" )

It's like a few years ago when rumors of the Venetian/Mediteranean bubbled up for the umpteenth time. Then someone found a design firms website that had models of the proposed resort. That site is 404, BTW. :confused3

Perhaps that will occur in October for the anniversary and in conjunction with the DVC Member Cruise?

Im wondering what kind of deal they will offer to those on the cruise to do an add-on?

I posted back in January, that it was the CRV and that it will have a Community Hall.

Thinking about it, I think we would add on. We didnt really care for VWL, but I like the CR and I think it has the best Marina.

My DH calls me a Search Monkey.....

Given enough time, I can normally find just about anything :teeth:

Are there any other DVC planned? I heard that they were thinking of 5 different DVC resorts. Do they typically only build one at a time? If so then another one will probably not be annouced for several years.

Don't know but it looks like poured concrete so maybe they can build in a short time. Would anticipate different view point structures - MK view, back of contemporary,(possible dumpster or large air conditioning units, view of other DVC members in rooms directly across the way and waterway/pool. Guess it is just me but CR has just never been my cup of tea and the drawing doesn't appeal much either- of course that could change once it is built - I wonder what the hallways will be llike (can they live up to BWV and SSR )- Really just kidding about most of this but I will be one of the minority that have no interest in this resort except to maybe spend a short time there to be able to say we have stayed at all the WDW DVC resorts. Definitely won't be adding on - actually have enough points so would have to sell some to buy some since I can't afford any more MFs and can't see doing that. For those who have been anxiously waiting for this I am happy and hope it will live up to all your expectations. pixiedust:

I'm not agreeing to this being next but, they could do it in short time if they build it they same way the tower was built. Get the concrete going and at the same time prefab the rooms and slap them into the building in stages , makes for a quicker build time.

Never thought about a DVC cruise ship , that would be nice!

I bet that the points per night will be more than any other DVC because of the Monorail access. I could see a one bedroom running 375 to 400 points range for 7 night stay during Premier Season.

I doubt they'll be able to boost the points per night quite so much. Perhaps they'll shrink the room sizes a bit.

5?? Yes, they finish one before starting another, however this looks fairly certain giving the info on this other site.

Completion date of 2008? Seems unlikely. Maybe they mean the completion of their part of the designing of the resort. A completion date would mean they would have to start, literally, this year, and that's hardly likely. Think about it, a resort of that size done in less then 2 years ?

If this is true, we're definitely adding at least another 100 points. The first DVC monorail. Wohoo!!

Looks interesting, but I really want to hear directly from DVC that this resort is a go for launch.

Since the construction season in Florida is year-round, I bet if it is announced, a 2008 open date (perhaps late in the year) isn't out of the question.

I would bet (if this is true) on a very late 2008. I really do hope this goes through. We would definately be doing our first add on.

If anyone hears from their guide about this.. let us all know what you hear.

Could it be just one of several designs Disney commisioned from several firms? It could be just concepitial and still years away..smjj

Exactly. When something is announced, I will get excited. It is nice to get an inside view on some of the design concepts, though.

CRV - A one bedroom running 375 to 400 points range for 7 night stay during Premier Season is not out of line. Just look at the point difference between OKW and VWL, BCV and BWV preffered view. It is a 54 point increase. So if you take less than half of that it would get you to the 375 points. Its not going to be cheap.

That is my big fear. I'd love to add here but adding more than say 200 points would be hard to swing. :furious:

That's what I think - a one bedroom with a view of MK? Wow! Fireworks from your balcony??? I think that would go for a premium, but what do I know :confused3

Hey Tink10, thanks for the detective work, FYI, someone on the "other board" saw your info and posted it there, you're a celebrity! And the way they hold on to threads over there your info will live on for eternity!
