Photo Gallery CD Thread*MAJOR CHANGE ON PP PRICING WITH WDW & DLR. See post #303-

Thank you so much for the information. We are gathering info for the first trip to DL after visiting WDW a couple of times. We have done the photopass at WDW previously and wanted to do it at DL too as the photos are fantastic.

Thanks again and we will make some great use of the info.

Excuse my ignorance, but can I just save the pictures from disc to my computer instead of having them printed?

Yes! They are .jpg files, so you can use them anyway that you do any other .jpg....backgrounds for your desktop, upload them to your website, even use them as your avatar here on DIS...and about a million other ways, lol. Because the CD also has the copyright waiver, you can legally use them anywhere you want too.

Just wanted to say I got the gallery cd with the photopass cd last week. The CM was amazed I knew about it, and when she went to ring me up the other CM looked weirdly at her and was like "What are you doing" She replied... "She asked for it, she already knew about it" LOL I thought it was kinda funny

:confused3 Just wondering if the special offer with the purchase of the Gallery CD is still running? We will be there next week and I was going to use this offer if it is still on. Thanks. :goodvibes

I got it last Thursday. :thumbsup2 It is marked on the Cover: Photo Gallery CD, Disney PhotoPassCD, Value Pack. Have fun! I know we sure did :banana.

Have a great time! You should miss out on the rain. Rain should be gone by today/Sunday. Next week looks beautiful.

I need to pick up another CD for my next order in June.

That is funny! :lmao: Similar thing happened to me when I bought my last one. The CM didn't know anything about them but she hadn't worked at that store for about 6 months. The other CMs told her I was right. Isn't it nice to have inside info?;)

so to clarify here, this is available in the parks from gift shops? Is it only at one or is it in mulitple?
And here is the critical piece of info, my sister is going this week:cool1: and taking my niece, nephew and mom for my niece's bday. I just got back from WDW w/numerous photopass cd cards. I have not input any into the system waiting for the opportunity to do the Disneyland deal. Does one person from the party have to be in each park photo? Meaning, do I or one of my kids have to be in the DL photopass card in order for this to work? Or is it really just like sharing a photopass cd?
Sorry, I just don't want to get hosed here. :flower3: I prepaid for my wdw photopass cd, which I am assuming I will receive a refund for (the 99.95) when I ask and then I will use the code from the photo gallery cd from DL to input all the photopass cards, right? I realize I must sound like the slowest dripping syrup on the board but I like to be really sure!

No, you don't have to have someone from one account in all the parks (WDW and DL). You can definitely share with your DSis. As long as you enter your PP numbers within 30 days from the date your first pix was taken and then order the CD by the next 30 days (you will therefore have a total of 60 days possible on one CD order) it will work. I've done it countless times. Sometimes we have been at both WDW and DLR. Sometimes we haven't.

My Dsis and her DH will be taking their first trip to WDW in May. I will be sharing a PP CD with them. I'm sure DD11 and I will make several trips to DLR during the required time period.

Just remember, that as of now, the final pricing for your CD will be based on the last park you (or someone in your family) were in and had pix taken. So if you enter your WDW in your account and they you click on order the CD it will show $149.95. Once your sister completes her trip to DLR and then enters her card numbers, the price will then be $59.95. At one time the pricing was based on the last card you uploaded but Disney realized that was probably costing them money and changed it to the last park you are in.

When CD shares were allowed on the boards I had one member who found a card he forgot to upload (from WDW) until after I had uploaded my DLR ones. I was all ready to order and the price had changed to the WDW one! Yikes! I had to make a trip to DLR to get a few pix taken to reset the price. But that can't happen anymore as no matter when you enter your card numbers, your pictures will be displayed in chronological order.

Since you already prepaid for your WDW CD, here's what I would do...
Enter your WDW now and start editing. Since your sister is going next week there's no reason to hold off on your edits. She'll have plenty of time. Then after she gets back (or while she's there) she can enter her numbers into your account. I would then order your CD using the coupon code from the Photo Gallery CD. (It's also good for free shipping, $2.95). Once everything has gone through then go ahead and ask for a refund on your prepaid $99.95. That way, if for some unforeseen reason it doesn't work, worst case scenario is you will have only paid $99.95. This is exactly what I did the first time I ran a CD Share incorporating both WDW and DLR. I prepaid for my WDW CD and after I ordered it paying the DLR price, I asked for a refund. Worked like a charm! And that was when it was only $129.95 if you didn't prepay.

But this really does work, I swear. :goodvibes I just ordered my last PP CD on March 17th and received it on Sat., the 26th. (took longer than I expected in the mail). I used my coupon from CD and didn't have to pay anything additional. I did have a friend on my CD who went to WDW.

Like I mentioned above, my DSis is going to WDW in May and she and I will share the PP CD, paying the DLR price. (Unless Disney makes a change to the way they have been doing it for the past 2-3 years, which I doubt.)

I hope your sister has a great trip. :goodvibes Have her check out the Sticky thread on Photopass pictures people have posted on the DL thread. It'll give her an idea of some shots she can get. I have many posted there. Tell her to tell every photographer she sees that she is getting the CD and if they don't have a big line they will take more pictures. Have her ask them if they have any special ones they can take for your niece's birthday. We've done a few cute ones with DD when she turned 9, and 10. She held up the appropriate amount of fingers and we pointed at her, etc. DD11 and I are going to DLR tomorrow, Tuesday and possibly on Friday. Maybe we'll see them there. :)

Feel free to ask if you have any more questions, either here or you can send me a PM.

Hope you have a great time in WDW!:wizard:

thanks for all the great info!! I will have to check out the sticky! They are planning on going on Thursday....my sis is fighting a cold right now, so the next couple days are critical, but I think I may follow your advice and start uploading my photos now so that I can get the ball rolling. If they end up not going then at least I will have started the process and won't have to pay for the extension!
I guess it's worth it to buy the gallery cd, right, b/c it will be like getting it for free since the code is in there? otherwise I can do it all online with her photopass number and not have her buy the cd? thanks so much!:goodvibes

so I spoke with a CM this am asking where exactly "I" need to go to buy this gallery cd and she said Main St photo shop. Cool. Easy. :thumbsup2 I told her that I had already prepaid for the wdw photopass cd and asked how I should go about getting the refund for that before I input this code from the gallery cd and she said they won't give me the refund.:guilty::sad1:
Is this true? I am hoping b/c she is Disney and NOT photopass that she is just guessing? :confused3
Photopass is closed for today, so I guess I can call and verify this tomorrow.....I LOVE saving money, but hate the hassle of having to chase it down!
Now I need to go find the sticky for cool DL photo shots!:upsidedow

I believe if you look at what your received (email with code) when you pre-bought your WDW CD there is something like a "satisfaction guaranteed" line there. What if you went to WDW and didn't get many PP taken or just weren't happy with the quality of them? You will just need to call PP directly and request the refund. I believe the CM was completey mistaken.

BTW, I bought another one of the Gallery CDs today. I'm already for my next PP purchase (sometime in June.);)

FYI-from http://www.disneyphotopass.com/previsitoffer.aspx

Offer Terms & Conditions:Disney’s PhotoCD will only include Disney's PhotoPass photos taken after purchase of this offer. Disney’s PhotoPass photos within your Disney's PhotoPass account prior to purchasing one of these offers will not be included. By taking advantage of the Pre-Arrival Offers, you can save on two of our most popular memory keepsakes! Once you have purchased a Pre-Arrival Savings Offer, you will receive credit(s) in your shopping cart on DisneyPhotoPass.com for the product(s) you pre-ordered. When you are ready to purchase, add the product(s) you pre-ordered to your shopping cart and place your order. Applicable shipping & handling charges and taxes will be charged to all orders. The applicable credit(s) will be deducted from your cart and applied to your order. If for any reason you are not satisfied with your photos and decide you no longer wish to order your product(s), just let us know and we can remove the credit from your cart and grant you a full refund. Please note however, once a credit has been applied to an order, a refund will not be granted. While the pre-ordered credit has no expiration date, your photos will expire based on the DisneyPhotoPass.com storage policy. Please be sure to place your order before your photos expire.

If you are worried about the credit being in your account and then ordering the CD anyway (which won't be an issue, but just in case) Set up a new PP account using a different email. Then request your refund.

Oh, and another BTW, there is another way to save on your PP CD order if you order by April 3, 2011 (this Sunday). This is good for 10%, or 5.99 off the DLR one. I still got a better deal be buying the Gallery CD. After AP discount (20% for premium) it came to just under $53. That's a total savings of about $10 off the CD with standard shipping ($59.95 + 2.95). Now I'll have 2 extra sets of Gallery CDs that I could away to Disney friends/family.:goodvibes

10% OFF PHOTO CD OFFER DETAILS:Offer expires 11:59 PM PDT on 4/3/2011. Save 10% on Disney's PhotoPass PhotoCD when you enter code CDMARSAVE and click apply. Offer applies to Disney's PhotoPass PhotoCD only, not to Photo Gallery CD, Photo Archive CD or any other products. Not valid on pre-purchase packages.

We leave in 12 hours for our first trip to WDW. I am online to buy the photopass CD. I don't understand the gallery CD, or how to use the CDMARSAVE coupon code (i tried, it didn't work) or what you are talking about regarding the price of the CD having to do w/the last park we are in. we have park hopper passes, so we can make any park our last park. PLEASE HELP!!!

Since you're posting on the Disneyland board, I'm going to assume that you are ONLY going to Disneyland? If that's the case, don't worry about the "last park visited"....DIsneyland and DCA are considered "one park" for the Photopass purposes. By "last park visited" people are talking about if they were at WDW (Florida) last week and Disneyland (California) this week. THAT is where the "last park visited" comes in.

As for the Gallery CD....it is a separate CD that has 300 photos of various things around the park. The cost for it inside Disneyland is $60....you can buy it at the Kodak shop at the end of Main Street (on the right if you're facing the castle). When you buy that Gallery CD it INCLUDES a voucher to get your Photopass CD for free. So you get both the Gallery and your Photopass CD for the price of one. You can NOT get this deal if you buy online....then you have to pay for each separately and while I believe the Gallery CD is a few dollars cheaper...since that Gallery CD does NOT have the free Photopass voucher, it ends up costing more in the long run.

Hope that helps...and enjoy your trip!

Has it been determined how long these Gallery CDs will last with the PP promo? Not sure if I needed to start asking people to get one for me... :)

Well...with Disney you never know they can stop a popular special on a whim. On the other hand....this offer has been around for a while now....and it used to be only SOME of the Gallery CDs had the voucher in them so DIS readers advised us to ask to be sure....and now the voucher is advertised ON THE BOX. So...the special was good enough that they reprinted the boxes to include them.

If you've got someone going sometime soon, you might tell them to pick one up "just in case". Better safe than sorry. Looking at my voucher it doesn't have an expiration date.
