Photo Gallery CD Thread*MAJOR CHANGE ON PP PRICING WITH WDW & DLR. See post #303-

You got it! Yes it will work. :goodvibes Just make sure that you upload your pictures by 30 days from the date taken. Otherwise they disappear. So if you last trip to DLR is more than 30 days after your first trip, make sure you upload those pictures.

Oh, and don't worry if you see the price for the CD change after you enter your WDW ones. Once you enter your last DL ones, the price will revert to $59.95.

Wow Great thanks for the info!!!!!
The tip on the price change is also a good one....

i have read the posts...still undecided if it is worth it. I know that we will be taking pics and buying for ride pics (splashmountain).

We usually buy at least 1 or 2 character pictures (pooh - dd favs char, eeyore - dd favs char, mickey with family) and we have bought the pics at the photo store on main street.

What I have read so far, this sounds really great. However, if I went with the CDs, could I also buy prints at the store on main street?

The ride photos are only included on the CD if you buy a print (or print package) of each ride photo you want. (this is from what I remember...I found out I was wrong about it at WDW, that doesn't work at all, except for Test Track)

If you get the CD, for normal pictures, just get it and then print pictures at home, through whatever printing place you want. Probably better quality, and MUCH much cheaper.

Yes but it's only available for purchase in the parks. It's the same Gallery CD that they sell online for $39.95 (yes it's more in the parks but you get the $59.95 coupon).

Ok, I'm super confused about basics of photopass CD purchases at DL. When we go to WDW, we pre-purchase the CD and then come home and make edits and add borders. Is this the same thing everyone is talking about that cost $59.99 at DL? If it is, do I purchase in the park or wait until I get home to purchase the CD with all of my pics on it online?

I think I'm getting that if I want to purchase a CD of my pics that I should purchase the gallery CD for $59.99 and then get the code for a free photopass CD when I get home. If this is still available in May, I'm pretty sure I will do this (which I can only purchase in the park) as long as I can make edits and add borders at home.

Sorry if I'm confusing anyone...just so use to WDW photopass ways :goodvibes

Yes, it's the same. When you buy the gallery cd, then you can go home, do edits, and then use the code in the gallery cd box in the promo code box and the photopass cd is free. Or you can go home without the gallery cd and pay 59.99 + shipping online to get just the photopass cd.

Does anyone know if Photopass is offered on the Disney Cruises, and, if so, if you can roll them in with Disneyland / Disneyworld Photopass during the same 30 day period?

Alright, here is another question which I didn't see asked/answered so I do apologize in advance if it has and I missed it :flower3:
We are going to WDW next month but live out here in CA and have friends with ap's here too. Soooo, if I have a bunch of photos taken in WDW, come back here and have a friend pick up the gallery cd w/the offer for free photopass cd in it do I actually have to have a picture taken by a pp photographer in DL in order for it to work? Or could I just have my gf pick me up a gallery cd and enter my wdw codes into it and get the 59.95 price? Did that make sense? I suppose I could just have my gf get her picture taken a few places when she goes and enter her code into the gallery cd offer and get them all mailed to me, right? :upsidedow

You'd need to have your friend get picts taken w/ PP in DL after your WDW trip and load them in your account. There wouldn't be any reason for her not to get all the picts she wants taken, but she would need to get at least one.

The price is based on the last place you have a Photopass Photo taken (they are date stamped in the system so the computer knows exactly when and where each photo happens)....not where you buy the Gallery CD. So, as PP said, have your friend get at least one photo taken by a PHotopass Photographer in Disneyland AFTER your WDW trip. She can get as many as she wants, but you only NEED one. Enter both your WDW and your DL cards into your photopass account, edit all the pictures you want, and then when you go to check out it should charge you the $59.95....enter the code from the Gallery CD box, click submit and it will show your balance is zero. Without the Disneyland photos it will simply take $59.95 off your total, but you'd have to pay the difference for the only WDW pics.

So...you'll save at least $40 (off the WDW pre sale price, and about $90 off WDW's regular price), PLUS you'll get the Gallery CD.

Personally, I think that kind of savings would be worth sending your friend with a Disney gift card for a couple of Mickey Ice Creams!

Oh...and of course, when you receive your CD you can simply email her copies of her photos (or burn them to a CD for her).

that would totally work. Plus, if your friend has a premium AP she'd get 20% off the gallery CD purchase making the total price only $52 or so after tax. It would be a great savings of almost $48 which is almost 50% off the discounted wdw photopass and almost 67% off the regular price of $149. That's the way to do it!

Oh hey, thanks for remembering the AP discount, I forgot about that! It's why I carry my credit card and my AP in the same lanyard, lol, so I see it each time I pay for something, lol.

F-A-B!! yes, that is soooooooo the way to go...now if I am a nervous nellie (yes, I am :cutie:) then I am also planning on prepurchasing the wdw cd for 99.95 (the 50.00 savings) so that just in case my gf does not get to go w/in the 30 day mark, we will still have saved the 50.00. So, will that screw up the order processing center? If I have the prepurchase code in my cart already? I guess I can leave it there until my gf actually goes and gets the cd for me, then if she does go and get it and takes pics w/a pp photographer I can then get a refund for my prepurchase and then input the code from the gallery cd, right?
did that make sense?

One more question here....does disney have cd's available for purchase like wdw does? I mean if you have a photopass #, can you input that into the photopass website w/o buying the gallery cd and just pay the 59.95 from home?
My friend is reluctant to go to the trouble of buying the cd and getting pics taken...I am trying to convince her to do it and that really, all she will need to do is take ONE picture! Right? :confused3
I mean, conceivably, she could take one picture w/a pp photographer, email me the number on the back of the card and I could input it into the computer from home along with mine from wdw and pay the cheaper price from the photopass website, right?

No, the Disney's website has the Disneyland's Gallery CD for 39.95 and doesn't have the free voucher in it. It's only at the Disneyland Resort, and their price is 59.95.

Any Disboard member could conceivably pick up one card, just get a character pic scanned into that card, and then e-mail you the photopass card number if that's what you want. Technically. (Just thought of it). Hmmm.....

do they by any chance take any outside the parks? You know, in the area in between the two parks? I could do it myself if they do!!
And can if she just emails me the numbers on back of her pp cards, can I buy the disneyland cd directly from the ppwebsite w/o buying the gallery cd??

so just clarifying...I am slower some days than others....If someone took a pic at DL after we return home from wdw and emailed me the number on back of the pp card, I should be able to put it into the photopass website and pay the DL price or do I HAVE to get the gallery cd for this to work?
Did that make sense? :cutie:

I have never seen a Photographer outside the parks....would have been kinda cool when the letters were up, but now, not so much to take photos of really. They have several early morning just inside the gates to take people's photo in front of the flowers/railroad, but often there is only 1 later in the day, but you have to go through the gate to get to them.

Just have your friend take a single photo with the PHotopass guy....give you the card and you enter it. You'll miss out on the Gallery CD, and while they're really cool photos, it's not something I would have paid even the $39 fee online (without the voucher, so it's extra $39). Getting it essentially "free" was why I did it, but I'd have had to give it some thought if it hadn't been free.

And...it sounds like people are reporting the voucher CDs are a little different now so that sounds like they have come out with a new edition or at least a new cover....so chances are it will be around for a while. You could always wait for your next trip and do that....or go in with a friend who is going later.

cool! If I don't need the gallery cd I am good without it. If I can do this from the comfort of my armchair at home, even better! :cutie:
