Long Beach Airport getting some upgrades!

Not sure how many use LGB over SNA or LAX, but if you haven't tried it, you should... but it may be under construction for a while. lol

Yes, and it feels like you've stepped back in time . You're out in the open air as soon as you exit the plane's door, and you either walk down steps (pulled up to the back of the plane) or down a zig-zagging ramp (front of the plane). You cross the tarmack to this cute little airport that takes you back to an earlier era. Bags come out quickly. Until recently, you grabbed them off an old-style conveyor belt where you could see the guys on the other side tossing the bags from the carts to the belt, but they've since built a more high-tech room for luggage retrieval.

From there, you are only steps away from whatever form of transportation you're using. Very easy in and out!

I have to say that I also love SNA. LGB is my first choice, mainly because it's so small and easy, but SNA has very nice facilities and is also pretty small.

One of the best things about LGB is the preservations of its historical architecture and mosaics. Here's the restored original terminal building:

We flew in and out of LGB this past weekend and it was one of the best airport experiences we've ever had! It's the cutest little airport and security was very friendly too.
