Petals & Pixie Dust Planning Journal 11/30/2009/2010

Wow, it sounds like you have gotten a lot done. Sorry I haven't been able to comment much on your PTR. Between a Terrible 2 YEar Old & Planning our trip (which is now in Sept.) it has been mad busy here. How has purchasing your mom's attire gone?

Holy Dooley! You have gotten a lot done! Makes me feel like I've accomplished nothing!! :lmao:

I think I'll take my dress with me, and get CA to pick it up and post it back to my mum's address, that way I don't have to lug it around on the HM, and someone should be home to accept it.

But I haven't bought my dress yet, so I don't know how big it's going to be :rotfl:

We are still looking..mom wants pants...I found a dress I would love her to try...I kind of shot myself in the foot with that whole thing...but what ever...we're still looking...Have fun in sept!!!

If you think the list I posted was the things I got done-a girl can only wish! That was my to-do list...I feel like I have NOTHING DONE!

As far as CA I was going to fill out the contact form...and can't do that until mom gets her outfit, I figure out what material my dress is made out of...and what ever else...only 7 months and 2 days left and already I'm a mad woman!!!:rotfl2:

Wow - you have gotten alot done and everything looks great.

As far as the crinnie goes - I got mine on Ebay and I think it was only $17.00 or so. See if you can get an inexpensive one and try it with your dress. That way if you do not like it you did not spend alot of money and maybe you could just resell it. I would suggest if you do get one to get it steamed with CA. I dyed mine pink and while it came out wonderful - boy were there alot of wrinkles. It actually gets longer once you get it steamed or ironed out as the wrinkles really bring it up.

Thanks for the tip on the steaming...didn't think about it. I've looked on ebay...but the one I want is $30...and doesn't take returns if you don't like it...I'll find one...unfortunately I have a certain on in my mind! :confused3

So, mom calls DH the other night and leaves a message that she got her top...pending my approval. So, today while I was at work, I looked it up and found it. I think I like it...but she is so excited about it I think I'm just going to like it either way b/c she is super excited about it and I want her to be that happy about it...and honestly...I like it...but haven't seen it in person...which makes me hesitant...So, without futher ado...

It's a light turquoise blue and silver...she is going to wear it with black pallazzo (sp?) pants.

At least I can check one thing off my to do list! :woohoo:

That's a really nice top, she's done a great job finding it. I'd probably want to see it on too, because we all know how these models make clothes look! :sad2:

Yeah...Models can make anything look good...but my mom is really excited about it...and she doesn't get excited about clothes! :thumbsup2

Ok...So, my veil is in! It looks good. Could have been a little longer...but I'm good with it. I ordered DH's cufflinks...waiting for those to come in...little things are trickling off my "to do" list. I'm still waiting to be assigned a coordinator. Since my LOA went out 4/27...I'm guessing that maybe I'll hear this week or next...it just seems like 12 days is a lifetime!

I'm going to see mom's MOB outfit today...pictures coming...

Looks like things are coming along! I really like the MOB top and I think it's great that she's excited about it too! I'm still waiting on being assigned a planner too...:rolleyes1

Ok well at least we are in the same boat...:boat: RE: coordinator...

I'm getting pics together for a big post...I'm sure I'll have lots once things start coming in...

ok I have pictures...but at the moment...haven't loaded them up yet...Figures right? And just when I think "oh I'll have lots of pics..." not as many as I thought...grrr...Anyway...

I got my coordinator today. I'll be working with Tanis. Still waiting to connect with her. I know I posted on the main wedding board if anyone has worked with her...insight is always welcome.

I replied on the main board as well...but I had Tanis and she was AWESOME!!!!

Let me know if you have any specific questions etc...

:goodvibes

Ok where are we...
Let's see...I went to my parents house and thought I would end up with more pics than I did.
In short...Mom found a top...Looks great and I love it...The Tiffany blue-ish color with red roses is going to look awesome.
Come to find out...MIL wants to wear a white top :confused3 That was after a brief convo today...not sure what to think about that...thought parents weren't suppose to wear white. I have no clue...Anyway...
Here is mom's top...I'm gonna keep it as a big pic b/c I want you to see the detailing...

I also got my veil in...here is a pic of the detailing...

I love it...it compliments the dress well.

I got my planner today...I have Tanis Armstrong. I can say this much...she is pretty persistent! We've been playing phone tag all day...So, I am sure this will be a good match.

I was also told today by my TA that we will be 180 days out on 5/31 and to get my ADRs ready...That is great...but...how do you coordinate 8 people to all be in the same place at the same time??? AND like it? :dance3: MIL, Dad, Mom, DH say book it and we will show. SIL says "come up wtih a rough plan and let us look at it...*sigh* :headache: I made one semi demand and that is that we do the HDDR the night after the wedding b/c DH wants to share this with EVERYONE...HE LOVES THIS show...everyone is on board with that. Ok good. I need to find one hook of a place...(see my post on the main board...)

I was thinking Chef Mickey's....but not sure that is the right way to go. NOT going with O'hana...they've had some rough reviews lately. I want to keep it on the MK monorail loop just so that we can get to MK, EPCOT, or DTD after and have relatively easy access. That narrows things down to the contemporary, GF, or Poly. S, I'm off to find a meal I guess...suggestions welcome.

Ok so this update wasn't as big on pics as I had hoped...Sorry...:flower3:

Sigh...about the white thing...

I specifically asked all of our guests (18) not to wear white or black. It's just a personal thing; I don't want anyone else wearing white and since we have a small wedding party I don't want it to look like we're in mourning!

My BM's are likely wearing black, so more reason to not have the guests wearing black.

So...DF's step-mom called me all excited to come out to see the dress she picked out for the wedding. And.....it's black, white, with turquoise flowers. :headache: Oh, and she tells me she got the PERFECT cardigan to go over it. Colour? White.
:headache::headache::headache::headache:

DF's mom? Her dress is White and Red.

There are so many expletives for how I feel about this.

All that being said, and my personal feelings aside, I've seen photos of mom's in white/cream and they do look lovely. I am choosing to pick my battles, because I know there are many more to come...:rolleyes1

thank you for sharing this... Sorry you have to deal with it...but totally understand. I just never expected her to want to wear black and white. Seriously?

I know to choose my battles...but my MIL is a good dresser...I get a sense that she is wearing trousers as well...She is going to be super out of place. :rolleyes1 MOB's outfit is much more formal....

New mantra..."Pick my battles." *breath*

So, MOB called MOG and discussed attire...MOG is worried about wearing white. I guess I just have to step up and say ...not what I was thinking...
I got DH's cufflinks in the mail yesterday...They rock! Pics soon...
I've been playing phone tag with my WC...poor woman...I feel bad that we can not connect, but definitely no fault of anyones we just can't seem to connect.

I'm trying to get our ADRs squared away...but that has proven to be a bit difficult...everyone has different ideas and no one really wants to step up...I did get one heck of a compliment for DH...He said, "Last time we went there weren't any of these hassles. I don't even know how we chose our meals. Or did you just do this?" When I confirmed I just did it he said, "Well that explains it then." For him to notice that this was just done for him...that's a huge step! :thumbsup2 He makes me laugh...did he think ADRs just magically appeared? :rotfl: Oh silly boy. :lovestruc

I'm trying to get tee times for my dad and DH...They deserve it. Tea for mom and I...and a couple others if they want to join along...Golf will be dads gift....Mom, I want to get her something from Tiffany b/c she has never gotten a little blue box...but then I want to get her a pearl too from Japan...*sigh* So, not sure what to do there...really it all comes down to money...

I'm super worried about my floral budget. Again...it comes down to money. Grrr...How I wish I could look into my crystal ball and poof know what will end up working and what won't ...now it is just the little things...and it will work out...some of it is just nervous excitement!

only 201 days left! :dance3:

your mom's top is very nice! It will look great in photos. I laughed when your said your MIL wants to wear white because mine is as well. I was totally annoyed but then just gave up. Her response to my annoyance was...I'm old no one will mistake me for you. :lmao: I would say if she is pushing for it....its probably a loosing battle.

She told my mom she was going to send me a pic of it...which makes me feel better...I just never expected her to wear pants...My mom is wearing pants...but she is being more upscale about it...I just can not picture in my mind what her outfit will look like... We shall see I guess...
