Petals & Pixie Dust Planning Journal 11/30/2009/2010

I totally understand how you feel about the mothers' attire. My MIL wore a black pantsuit. Mind you, our wedding was done in spring pastel colors  She looked like she was going to a funeral.

Don't stress about the money and cutting things. I got totally freaked out about things and in the end picked my top priorities and made sure I had all those items and then added from there what I could reasonably afford. We're still paying off the wedding now 2 years later, but set up an amount of money we knew we could afford to pay per month for a couple of years.

My mom is wearing black...but it has color and the color I would have used if I had bridesmaids. Not sure what MIL is thinking...but we shall see when she sends the pics.

Ahhh...money...I have a great list of things that I WANT to add. I'm getting more than one girl could hope for...and I am thankful for that! But some of it is just the little things. The Rolls. The Confetti/Petal Cannons. Aisle Roses. Aisle Decore...a lot of my dread comes from floral. LOL...I guess I'll be working with Rosie...So, I am sure she will have a few tricks up her sleeve.

So, I wanted DH to look at cakes...he isn't in the mood. So, I thought I would look with you girls...I like the swirl cake but feel it isn't "fancy" enough for our dinner location...I'm not a fan of the other cakes...and don't want to spend the money cake when it's include in our escape package...So, I was looking around the net and found this
3-tier-wedding-cake-with-swirls-and.jpg

So, what does everyone think? Do you think Disney will do less swirl for more money????

Ahh, I love love love that cake! It is so beautiful! Are you planning on doing a 2 tier than? I bet they would do that for about $25 to $50 more. The first cake I ever submitted to them had a much different design, and it was going to be $50 more, so I assume yours would be less, perhaps no charge at all!

Thank you! I'm not sure what the swirls are made of on the escape cake, but it seems too casual. I'm just trying to dress it up some. This one was so simple that it would work...Yes-we only need 2 tiers I think even that is too much...

Oh I really like it! very pretty! (my DF never wanted to talk cakes either)

Thank you!

So, should I send this to my planner and see if I can get a quote?

Call me a bridezilla but I hate it when people do things like wearing white to a wedding - you know that only the bride is supposed to, so unless you have some kind of life or death reason, why do that? I hope that you don't have any more of that drama!

I really like that cake, it is very elegant! It wouldn't hurt to get a quote on it, that doesn't mean that you have to stick with that cake if you change your mind later. Getting a quote will just help you have an idea about pricing of that versus other cakes, which may determine which cake you ultimately pick. Let us know how it turns out!

I thought the only person that was suppose to wear white was the bride...augh...stay tuned for "as the wedding dress turns.":headache:

Thank you for the cake compliments! All the cakes that disney is providing -since we are an escape wedding-are included. So, I don't want to add to it if I don't have to...but I'll ask and we will see. *fingers crossed*

So, I've planned my ADR's and my TA is going to get them for me at the 180 mark.
Here they are
Whispering Cannon
LeCellier
Chef Mickey's
HDDR
Boma
50's Prime Time Cafe

What do you think? We are on the dining plan!

Good choices! :thumbsup2 We are doing a bunch of the same...(tho I haven't eaten at any yet) we are very excited to try them

LeCellier is AMAZING!
HDDR WOW! and that is just for the show! The food is to die for! (for BBQ anyway...)
and 50's PT-my parents are going to...but we've been and loved it...

Now I just hope that I get them all!

Love your ADRs, I have too much time on my hands, I'm already planning mine, and I can't book them until the end of August....

Dang!! You've gotten so much done since last I read! Nice work! :thumbsup2 I love your veil and the detail on it! Just gorgeous! Your mom's top is really cute too! I can't believe the MOG is wanting to wear white!! That is beyond tacky. Nobody should be wearing white at a wedding other than the bride. It's just common knowledge. Thank God my DH's mom asked me what color I wanted her to wear. :rotfl2: If I were you, I'd just tell her you were thinking another color would be better suited for her? I requested that my mom and then FMIL wear shades of our wedding colors. Hope it all works itself out to your benefit though!

Oh yeah, and that cake is so pretty! And Disney will do anything if you ask. Money may or may not be needed in order to get them to do just that. :rotfl:

Thanks! I'm hoping we get them all! Plan them now! It takes some time at least. Hoping August comes quicker than you realize!!!

Thank you! What is weird is that MOG said that the MOG job is to show up, wear beige, and smile. What happen here? :confused3 What is even stranger is that she is a stickler for etiquette...again I ask-what happened here? She told my mom that she wants to know if it is ok so she is going to send me a picture. I'm waiting for the picture...but just need to be up front with her.
Thank you on the cake compliment. DH approved the cake! Said he really liked it! :dance3: We could not agree on any of the escape cakes! So, this is a good compromise...if they charge me a little I'm just going to go with it b/c we can't decide on the 6 they suggested...

I'm also thinking about doing the cake in off white with red roses...I just can't seem to put bright white with red roses together...OR I just might leave it the way it is (with mickey and minnie on the top instead)
Things are going so quickly now..I can't believe it is the 20th! We book our ADRS on the 31st and then we are 180 days out! :scared1:

Did you find out yet if they will do that cake at no additional charge? I think off white with the roses would look really nice!

That is awesome you have your ADRs all figured out! I love Le Cellier, have you been there? The inside is so gorgeous, and the area out side of it is so pretty as well (although clearly I am biased :rotfl:)

I'm not sure if I already wrote this on here, but DH and I are planning on going back to WDW Nov 28th to Dec something (date depends on whether or not we do DCL too). I just need to get a job before I book!

Not yet. I agree-I think the off white with red roses will look best...

We've been to LeCellier before...it's our favorite! :thumbsup2 and it is beautiful!

Nov 28th huh??? I feel a meet coming up! Adelia will be in WDW at the same time. I'll send you a PM...

What a semi-lazy weekend! I walked for Great Strides on Saturday to raise money for cystic fibrosis research. Sunday did all the chores and what not. Every time I pick up my computer DH says "more wedding porn huh? What are you going to do when this is over?" *gasp* the horror!

So, what have I accomplished? Not much. I've sent in my info to Carolyn Allen's and got a confirmation. I touched base with my TA...Will be booking our 2 nights at GF. Mom and I are going to stay there the night before and DH and I the night of. So, that will be done and out of the way.

I feel like there is so much more to do..and then I can't remember 1/2 of what needs to be done...yes...I keep going back to my to-do list a few pages back...you can go there to check my progress! :thumbsup2 I still need to mail out my contract to Rev. Jack Day. *sigh*

I guess Tuesday I'll make an updated list. As I type this I realize that I need to come up with the final mailing, that we are almost 6 months out, and we still need to get the DH and FOG fitted for tuxes. Things to buy. Making sure people get to the places they need to...and everyone appropriately dressed...:rolleyes1

I guess the big things are done and out of the way. Trip booked, airfare booked, ADRs in the hands of my TA to be taken care of by her, so I think I'm ahead of the game at the moment...even though it really doesn't feel like it...:confused3

:rotfl: wedding porn haha and what will we do when the planning is over? I am very afraid for that day!

Once you have all of the big things taken care of, there are a million little things to do that still add up to a lot of your time - funny how that works lol

Sounds like you had a pretty good weekend though. I think it is great that you did the Great Strides walk!

Now, I just have to get that list together for all those little details we love!!

So, I met with my hair stylist here at home. We have a plan to get my hair longer by November. Which includes no cutting for 3 months. I'm sticking with her plan and we will go from there...Fingers crossed that it gets longer!
