Petals & Pixie Dust Planning Journal 11/30/2009/2010

It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. She can be picky too. She doesn't want to wear a dress...which is fine-I would rather her be comfortable and look elegant than wear something that she would be uncomfortable in. So, now it is just a matter of trying to find a top. Which is harder than one might guess...

Good luck tomorrow!!!

I should have checked my email before posting last night b/c our LOA was in my email! I looked at it quickly on my iphone this AM while I was at work-note to self-don't read a 14 page document on an iphone-not so easy to do...
Anyway, there are somethings I need to go over with my WP before we sign anything. DH and I are going to go ahead and have dinner and read the paperwork.

I've decided to find a new hair dresser at home...My mother keeps taking length off of my hair when she cuts my hair...I'm gonna end up getting extensions if this doesn't stop...that is my backup plan...but I really don't want to spend the $250 to get the look I want...So frustrating!:furious:

I wore a pin in/clip in hair extension for the wedding I was in last weekend. It was supposed to only cost $60. It worked really well. I know that's not what you want, but if worse comes to worse maybe it's something you could look into

I have tuesday off, so I'm going to make some phone calls and see what is available to me to do. Just in case. If I have to eat the $250 that Patricia LeJuene charges then so be it...at least I'll have the hair that I want. :thumbsup2

I have some questions about my LOA-that phone call will be made on Tuesday as well. So much to do!

I have to order my veil and DHs cufflinks (mickey of course!)

I have to put together the next newsletter and send that out...

I'm trying to decide if I need a bolero for the wedding...Will it be chilly end of Nov. beginning of Dec?

I feel like this has been a hurry up and wait. I've been waiting for this time to come and now it seems to be going by so slowly! :rotfl: Oh well...before you know it it will be here and I'll wonder where all the time has gone to! :dance3:

The same thing happened with my contract to Misty too... but they figured it out quite awhile ago. Apparently they were having trouble with their fax machine around the time we booked so they didn't receive some of the contracts- don't worry they still have you on the books:thumbsup2 We also got the same 10% off deal with Misty too so we are paid in full too! I'm glad you finally got your LOA- I got mine yesterday too! And don't worry too much about your hair, Patricia can work wonders. I was worried mine wouldn't be long enough and she said it was plenty long and just to keep it the same length it is now. I can't remember exactly what you want to do with your hair so I'm off to search back through your PJ:goodvibes

I think I'm getting a bolero, and that's for March. I decided this after following MainStMandy's TR. It was so cold that they got moved inside, so it's a just in case measure.

I have , over the past 2 days, gone back and read your entire PJ. I had not followed along too closely before so after reading a comment you put on the main boards I decided to read it all! I love your theme for your wedding and the reasons behind the theme and I can't wait to see all your pictures as I think everything will be SOO beautifull.

For 20 or 30 dollars on ebay...why not? When I get cold I get grumpy!:lmao:

Welcome! WOW! That is a lot of reading in 2 days! :goodvibes Thank you for your kind words. I sometimes think I can only vision this wedding in my head-it looks amazing in my mind-but I'm not sure if others can see it...:thumbsup2

So, as I look back at my posts I realize that there aren't many pictures. HOW BORING! So, I went to Target today and they had some great stuff that I thought I would send out in my very last mailing (nevermind that I haven't finished getting this second one together...LOL)
And so, I took some pictures b/c that is what us DisBrides do. Then I realized I only took 2...*sigh* Anyway, here is the loot I got at Target-that I just HAD to buy b/c...well that is what us DisBrides do...LOL -See a pattern???

So, I got these word search books...figured it would be good for the flight.

Complete with pens and nail files for the girls.

And this stamp to emboss on something...b/c DIY projects are what us DisBrides do...

In more exciting news...WE GOT OUR FLIGHTS! JetBlue FINALLY put out their flights and I am proud to say that we are the first people on the plane! Seriously-absolutely NO seats were taken-which meant we had our pick...And JB books from the back to the front...so we are in aisle 22 with the last aisle being 25...We usually take aisle 17 so this will work.

Now about that dress??? I'm not sure what I'm gonna do here. Haven't really decided. Do I mail it to Carolyn Allens? Do I take it with me? We have a direct flight down and a layover back. Thoughts? Suggestions? I'm thinking taking it with me b/c CA will be doing the steaming anyway...and then having her take it back, clean it and send it back to me...sounds easy enough and safe enough...but how the heck am I gonna squish my dress into a carry on??? Hmmm...that is going to need some work.

I found a veil...just need to order it...Mom loves it (but I think I posted that already.)

I'm waiting to get a phone call from Disney to discuss our contract....and then we mail it off and we're good!

Lots of wedding stuff to do today...:cool1:
I finally feel like a real bride!:bride:

That's nice you are sending some of the items with your mailings :goodvibes I saw the crosswords at Target the other day too and was thinking that some of the brides on here would pick some up for their guests.

I personally shipped my dress and it was the best thing ever. CA delivered it to our room all steamed for me. I then only worried about carrying my veil with me. We had enough things to worry about carrying with our luggage and I was glad not to have the stress of worrying about my dress. I shipped it UPS with lots of insurance ;)

Hooray for getting the flights :cool1:

I'm trying to send things with each mailing...I just finished my second newsletter!!! Now to just go and get it printed and mail them out...This time...Not as much stuff...Just the Frommers guide that I got for $2.50 each at Target awhile back...I want our families to get excited about the trip...and I'm not doing welcome bags...so the maillings have been fun!

My last mailing will include:
Small time frame itinerary
Word Searches
Pen
Bare Necessities Kit (everything will have to fit inside a soap holder!)

Sounds like CA is the way to go...Must give her a call and check that out!

I'm very happy with our flights...I saved about $500 waiting for JetBlue...:teacher:

I woke up this AM with the need for some retail therapy. Why? I don't know buy I just had to buy SOMETHING! So, since our mothers day gifts were already purchased, I went ahead and bought my veil!@ $52 at the veilshop.com (thank you to whom ever gave me that little tip!) Considering they wanted to charge me $250 at the bridal shop that I got my gown at...I consider this a steal!:teacher:

I need to purchase DHs cuff links (Mickey of course!) Luckily he has gotten into wearing french cuff shirts so he will wear them more than just for the wedding.
I also need to see if I can find earrings. I know I purchased a pair already...but I dont know if they are "the one" :rolleyes1

There are some little things here and there that I need to purchase. We need to figure out what to get our parents for thank you gifts. Not sure what to do there...but we will see.
Any thoughts on that is greatly appreciated!

Off to work..things are really coming together!:thumbsup2

Good think I ordered my veil NOW...it won't get here until May 28! Plenty of time...but I wasn't expecting such a wait... Oh well....Plenty of time!

It sounds like you are really moving along now! It is so exciting to finally feel like you are a bride and you are actually planning!! And having sent your second newsletter is great too - are they being received well by the family?

I agree that waiting is the absolute worst. Retail therapy really helps with that I've found lol

I don't know if I have been lurking or if I actually have posted here....so saying hi! Things are looking great! Congrats on getting your veil! can't wait to see the cuff links

I just realized I'm only 7 months out :scared1:...this time is going to fly!
Retail therapy helps...but you should see my to-do list (read further down)
Newsletters and mailings have been well received by family. They all call and tell me how much the like getting them...So, I'll take that as a good thing. :rotfl:

Hi! I'll post pictures as things come in...I still need to order the cuff links...

So, here I sit at work on a Saturday...It has been a major planning day. Especially since the woman I work with is having just as much fun with it! :thumbsup2
It looks like I've got 7 months left!!! This time is going to FLY! To say the least! It is amazing how you wait so long for something and then it is just all going to happen at once. Who am I kidding I love it! :lmao:

The crinoline right now is the melt down of the day. My dress is form fitting and A-line. So, I don't know. I'm a bit torn. I want the dress to be full...it looks like it will fall in through out the day. *sigh* So, this is todays stumbling block...When I talked to my mom her solution was to purchase one and make sure we can return it. I might just ebay one they seem cheap enough...Not sure how all of that will work...We shall see.

This list got pretty long pretty quick! Thank goodness I quit my photography job...now I really have a couple of days off during the week to get things done...:thumbsup2
