Petals & Pixie Dust Planning Journal 11/30/2009/2010

I haven't had this problem because I live so much closer but I can understand how you feel, I would be hurt if people acted that way.

I agree with Mandy, if they choose to not come than that's their loss, not yours. You're going to enjoy and celebrate your day regardless of whether they attend or not. Don't worry about what other people want, make yourself happy and then try to accommodate others. But always yourself first.

Thank you!

You Girls always know how to make things better! :wizard:

Howdy!

So, here is the latest and greatest. To start with, I've decided that if no one wants to come to my Disney Wedding except my parents then I'm just going to spoil them and enjoy every picture perfect moment!:cool1: We still don't have confirmations on anything yet...but I am hoping my planning kit to them will get them excited...or at least get them to get a move on...either way...I ahve a back up plan.
For example, I wanted a staged rose petal toss...if we don't have enough people that is fine-I'm getting confetti cannons! :snooty:
It will work itself out, but I'm just going to go and be my princessy self. :bride:
So, the newsletters are DONE. I just need to get black ink in order to print them :rolleyes1
I got our STD pencils...So. Very. Stinking. Cute! I love them! A friend of mine owns an imprinting company and did them as a favor...For 10 of them it would have cost me $3.50...I would have paid double...but she said no charge. And when she forgot to bring them with her when we met up...she had me over for lunch too! :yay:
I stopped and got park maps from the Disney Store. They get so excited when you tell them you are getting married at Disney! They are in the rack that they keep all the tickets and gift cards in.
(I got my mom the Birnbaums Guide and a $25 Stay/Play/Dine gift card for her birthday-She loved it!:cheer2: Dad will get one too for his Birday coming up...and then for their Anniversary I'll get them another...most substantial one...They have been wonderful...with some bumps...but those bumps have been so minor that they deserve as much as I can do for them!)
Mom & I are going tomorrow to yet another bridal show-this will now be the 4th!!! Only this time we need to really look for Tux deals. FOB needs one to rent and The Groom needs one to purchase. He has other things that he will need it for so it is best to purchase one. I'm afraid to see what this will cost...but he will get good use out of it! :groom: So, mom & I will be eatting cake and looking at tuxes and such. Fun Fun Fun!

This new attitude helps. The heck with them. It's all about me and DH...and we are going to enjoy every minute! :cool2:

PS Pictures soon...promise...I've got some great stuff to show off!!!

Talk about your early Xmas gift!
I got the job that I have been wanting and waiting for! I found out yesterday!!! WOOOHOOO Let the wedding planning really begin!:thumbsup2
Thank you all for the pixie dust and prayers!

On a wedding note...I started working on our wedding album from David's Bridal (apparently they give you a FREE 20 page wedding book-hard cover from shutterfly-Hey it's free...can't complain there...) and I'm just frustrated...:rotfl: I was going to work on it during the holiday...but hmmmm...I need my computer screen at home-not my laptop...too frustrating to try to do it with a touch pad and small screen-I'm such a snob LOL:snooty:

Have a wonderful holiday everyone!!!

OMG I can't believe I missed this! Congratulations! That's huge news!! Have you started yet?

That's a really good idea! I know what I'm getting everyone for Christmas this year now! Our wedding is in March, so it's perfect timing!

Then next year for Christmas everyone can have wedding photos!

Bec-Thanks! I start orientation on 1/21...Super Excited!
I thought the GCs were a good idea...mom liked them...DH...well he's a boy...:rolleyes1

YEAH! You're back! Thank you for the well wishes. Very happy abut the new job!
As much as it sucks for both of us...I'm glad I'm in the same boat with someone RE: in-law issues

NOW...LET ME TELL YOU THIS...I'M SOOO MAD!
So, I go to the hair dresser the other day...and I get my hair cut...just the ends nothing more b/c it is starting to get to the length that I want it at. OK...The shampoo sucked. She missed most of my head. She cut it...just the ends..of maybe some of my hair...showed it too me and there wasn't much there. Ok. Blow dries it...and I don't know what the heck she put in my hair but it made it all hard and crunchy...I have naturally curly hair...She blow dried it and I looked like a big fuzz ball!
I get to my mom's house and she says "You realize your hair is uneven right?" My mom is a hair dresser from back in the day...Now, I'm furious...I have this meeting today to fill out paperwork and such and you are going to tell me my hair is uneven. Great. So, mom says "I'll fix it." Ok...Now my freaking hair is shoulder length...RIGHT TO MY SHOULDERS...The woman at the salon butchered it so badly that my mom had some work to do to get it all even and straight...its a dang good thing that I have 322 days until the wedding...my hair better grow back FAST! Someone suggested prenatal vitamins...anyone try this before...I AM SOOOO MAD! :furious:
I want my hair at least past my shoulders and I'm not sure it will happen now...:sad1:

So, I'm behind on the picture thing...again! So, here is the latest. I'm working on my first "package" for our guests. I'm hoping that by getting "good mail" that it will get them in the Disney Spirit! I wasn't going to do this...but figured I wanted to do it...So, fine. I'll do it. However, just to stamp my foot and have a temper tantrum about it...it isn't nearly as big as it was going to be. SO THERE! *putting hands on hips and stamping my foot!*:snooty:

First pic is of the thank you notes that I made for our legal wedding...I love them! They are super cute! The little heart between the bride and groom is puffy and it is just basic black ink white paper....a little red just for fun!

Moving on...I'm including a response card...These were also fun to make...Microsoft Project Gallery helped to the work. WAY easier than mac's pages..which is sad to say b/c I am a mac girl! The pixie dust you see is actually a pen that I have...
IMG_4415.jpg

Let's see...park maps...Got these at the Disney Store for free. The girls there are awesome! I tell them I'm getting married there and they get all giddy and excited!
IMG_4417.jpg

These are my favorite! A friend of mine stamps pencils and she did these for me for free!!! They say "Pencil In The Date" on one side, "11.30.2010" on the next, and "Our Disney Wedding" on the third side...
IMG_4419.jpg

Also included will be a CD of Disney Music that needs to be burned and the newsletter. I'm hoping to get these out next week. :woohoo:
Only 75 days until our date is confirmed...but who is counting...I email my planner monthly to see if she has any updates...Our date is still open!

I'm still not happy with my hair...Gosh! I hope it grows quickly!

It's ok, your hair has plenty of time to grow! I just got about 20cm cut off my hair because it was just too heavy and thick, especially for summer, so now it sits just below my chin, but I know it's going to be plenty long enough to go in a side ponytail for a friends wedding in April. Worse case senario, you can look into extensions.

I hope you're right. :thumbsup2 I have naturally curly hair and extensions will be expensive!:headache:

...So, DH and I were talking last night and I got into a mood. I just HAD to make my CD's for our planning packets. I had 5 CDs and NONE of them came out...So, DH asks what they are for. I explain that I'm using them as part of our packages. So, he asks "Do you really think people will listen to them?" Um wrong question to ask...b/c I reply with "Ya know I was just thinking that myself. Why deal with all the frustration and aggravation if they aren't going to be appreciated." Yeah that was the wrong answer...Apparently, DH said I looked like I was seething...Boy! Did I feel bad! Seriously. I didn't mean to take my frustration out on him...However, he did tell me to go buy good CD's and give him the playlist and he would make sure they got made. I guess that is one way to get DH into doing wedding stuff...LOL...but I still feel bad. I didn't mean to come across so terribly!

I know how you feel, DF and I are often pointing out when we're taking frustation out on each other, when what we're angry about has nothing to do with the other...

Yeah. Tell me about it! At least we aren't the only ones! It sucks b/c I don't want to take things out on him. That isn't fair...

In more recent news...DH might be going to Haiti for the relief efforts...we got the call last night from his boss that it is possible that he might go. Um...OK..So, I say to DH, "Just make sure you're back by 11/29 we're good. His reply was, "Um not sure that will happen." :scared1: Um...ok.
So, my question is...what is the change the date policy?

I'm really nervous about all of this. It sounds that things in Haiti are civil. It also sounds like the Haitian people are so grateful..there stories break my heart even more. (In one article a woman who was pregnant, got 4 high energy biscuits and was quoted as saying something to the tune of "I am very lucky. I got busciuts and before I had nothing." :sad1: We've done these relief "deployments" before...it always sucks when he leaves. (I have no clue how military families do this...They have my upmost respect!) We seem stronger when he returns...but I this could be longer than what we have done before...(longest we've gone is about 1 month...easy really... that amount of time isn't that bad at all...)

And holy moly I feel selfish...Stupidly selfish...I'm worried about my wedding plans! Our newsletter is suppose to go out this week...I really can't hold off...it's all dated...the pencils are dated...everything is dated...and DH says "Don't know if I'll be back by then." *gulp*

So, the major question is...how does the whole "reschedule" policy work???

I think you can reschedule any time within the Disney Financial year, which is like Oct-Oct isn't it? So I think you'll be fine, so long as you don't want to put it off until the following Nov 30...

*sigh* you know what they say about the best laid plans... :sad2:

I'm sorry that you may have to postpone your wedding. It's not being selfish at all to be thinking of your wedding. That's a very important day for you and your DH and it's only natural that you would be concerned that he wouldn't be able to come back in time.

I just looked over my contract and it said you can postpone the wedding once and the rescheduled wedding must take place within a year of the original date. I think there is some type of fee that you pay first but if the rescheduled wedding is within a year they'll apply that fee to that.

yeah I know..but it doesn't look like it's going to be much of a problem at this point...which is good!

thank you for looking! :thumbsup2

DH and I both have a tendency to jump to conclusions....For example, Xmas day we were out of town and the weather was going to be bad and DH said..."Make sure you're ready to go after breakfast and gifts." the only thing I could think of was, "Dang! I wanted the prime rib dinner." :rotfl2: the weather didn't get bad...and I got my dinner...See what I mean??? o, the process of DH going away right now may or may not happen...but he should be back in time...Weather or not his hair will have grown back is a completely different issue...(he shaves it when he goes to hot climates...)

On a completely different, wedding related notes...our travel packages go out today!!! :cheer2: the CD's have been burned...I couldn't find labels in a small enough quantity (really I don't need 50+ labels when I only need 3) So, I'm just going to write "Play Me" on them a-la- Alice In Wonderland... I'm sure they won't get the reference but what ever. When I told DH they were going out today he didn't seem to have a problem with it. :thumbsup2

Off to start an early day...for some reason I'm awake way too early...on a day I could have slept in...:headache:
