Petals & Pixie Dust Planning Journal 11/30/2009/2010

Packages have been sent to our guests...The most expensive thing in them was the newsletter! BUT I wanted them in color and it was 6 pages long!!! And that is only the first volume! :rolleyes1 but it was set up in such away that it covered A LOT of preliminary stuff and pictures. As soon as I figure out how to screen shot it I'll post it. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out...Now to start the next one!!! Which, I'm kind of looking forward to...but not sure where to start with that yet...but it won't go out until at least 3/1...As that is hwen their response cards are due back...So, I wait...

On a sad note. I went to go and scrapbook all of my engagement stuff and now can't find it...So, today...my last day before my new job  I will be pulling my craft area apart trying to find it:eek: Pleae send pixie dust this way so that I can find it...there were some really cool things that were sent and I would be heart broken if I couldn't find them...thanks! :wizard:

Hey! I've been gone for a while (getting married and everything), but I love all the things you've been doing! The newsletter package looks awesome. I think people will at least give the CD one listen to see what it's all about. I am sure it will be appreciated.

Good luck starting your job tomorrow! It's going to be great. I'm so happy you found one after all those months of stress.

Also, I'm sure your DH will be back in time for the wedding November. They do need a lot of help down there, but I'm going to stay positive and say it will all work out!

Can't wait to hear more, and to hear how tomorrow goes! Here's the pixie dust you asked for! :wizard:

YEAH! for getting married..Um...Where is your TR??? (Or have I missed it some how...)
Thank you for the compliments and well wishes. The package was fun to work on. I hope it is appreciated! I'm super excited about starting my new job!
Not sure if DH is going or not...I just read on Yahoo! That they had another earthquake at 6.1! Seriously-Dear Mother Nature, this is not funny! I'm hoping DH isn't going to go at this point...I know they need help...but I am looking at this from a safety stand-point...As much as I would want him to go to help... is NOT safe right now...and that scares me...:sad1:

Off to run some errands and look for all of our e-stuff...*sigh* thanks for the pixie dust!!! :wizard:

Everyone received and called to tell me they received our planning packages!!! Everyone loved them. "Lots of work went into them." "Very cute!" Ok now...just let me know by 3/1 when you want to go so I can start the reservation process....:surfweb:
I almost feel like a real bride!

That's great that everyone appreciates your packages, I hope I get a good response from mine when I eventually get round to finishing them!

So... How's the new job??

Hey!
Yes. They appreciated the packages...Then SIL calls and asked about whether or not the meal plan was worth it. Um, for us...yes...but you have to be willing to do the work. Map out a game plan. Get ADR's...I'm pretty certain that I talked her into a circle...or at least gave her enough food for thought. :rotfl2: Then, I ask when they are planning to come down...They just found out that BIL is oncall until Sunday before and won't be down until at least Monday...So, I reply, "Glad I know that now b/c the 29th was our back-up date." SIL "Oh. I didn't even think of that." She was sincere, but I guess it just goes to show that even the littlest things can mess up plans. Not that it was a huge mix up...it wasn't...but the point is communicate with me! It was fixed with a quick email to my WC. No worries.

The job...Right now is just orientation, but I love it! I'm a little overwhelmed...but I think that is to be expected. All in all ...not bad! :cheer2:

awe i'm glad the job is working out for you!! and that the info you sent out to everyone was apprecaited! ;)

Thanks! I can't wait until Monday to go back to work!!! I have a lot of "homework." So, while I'm sitting at work this weekend I'm going to get it done and squared away. Work=More wedding stuff! (I know where my prioirities are...)

On...one update...Mom and I saw the crystal champagne glasses from Swavoski...with the crystals in the stems... My mother and I fell in love...and then decided against them b/c of the travel factor and not wanting them to break :sad2:

Has anyone traveled with glassware? Has it made it safe and sound to your wedding???

Eh, I don't even want to think about it! :scared: I'm going to have to delegate my nearest and dearest and MOST TRUSTED friends and family members to help me take stuff as hand luggage, b/c there's no way I'm going to entrust it into the hands of the luggage handlers!!

Exactly! I really want the toasting glasses...but I don't want them to break *pout* I'm a little torn there. So, I'm not going to worry about it. BUT I WANT THEM! (I need a temper tantrum smiley here...:rotfl2:)

Is this my temper tantrum smiley!?!?!?! :rotfl: Love it!

Life here has been busy...I love my new job!

Not much new on the wedding front...Family needs to get their "response cards" back by 3/1...Lets see if that happens. I need to start working on a second newsletter-which won't happen until everything is confirmed and I'm set to go...
OH! and 53 days until I confirm with Disney...I'm a little anxious...but not too bad...(sigh)

lol yeah, he's hurling abuse but you cant really see it.

Yeesh, so many people waiting on their times and days at the moment... It's making me nervous!!

I appreciate the support! I hate the waiting...but it looks like we will at least end up at the WP...one way or another...*fingers crossed*

NOW however, DH says he would rather the wedding at 1030:headache:...um...no...We decided this TOGETHER when I put in our requests. He has no clue what he is in for...and I'm 1/2 tempted to say-Listen...I do the planing you show up...That is how it goes...

Anyway...So...Mom and I were talking...and she thinks that this is a casual wedding...I said "No Sunday Best." She doesn't want to wear a dress...and I'm cool with that b/c I don't want her to be uncomfortable...BUT I STILL WANT HER TO LOOK FABULOUS! Yes. Some bead work. Some sparkle...SHE IS THE MOTHER OF THE BRIDE OF COURSE! So, that might take a little work...I just want her to have her outfit made...she doesn't want to wear black...grumble grumble...I want dressy...Dad is going to be in a tux...and she wanted casual...is she nuts??? She was cool with Sunday Best...oh but still...More to come on that front...*sigh*

So, DH bought new golf clubs today. I kindly reminded him that if that is what he is going to purchase that I get my dessert party...no questions. He agreed! Then he said, "but I thought you wanted the cannon thingy's " I explained that was on my long list of wants...but might have to do without...:rotfl:

Next, to make reservations for the wedding...at least our ressies...still waiting on everyone else to send their response cards back...

Yay for DP's!!! I hope my df agrees to it too!

I'm expecting troubles with my guests turning up in shorts and singlets and just park clothes  hopefully we'll get all the confusion out of the way well before the event, so it all goes smoothly.

I don't think I could do a 10:30 wedding... What time would you have to get up to make sure you're all ready in time for it? No thank you!

You just reminded me that I need to create response cards to go with my newsletter. What did yours look like?

Now, I wanted to ask you a question. What happened at the 12 month mark? Were you pencilled in? Did they send you the information? Or does that come after the contract?

I'm really hoping for the 2:30 time slot so then that way I don't have to worry about the clothing logistics...Figure 2:30 for the ceremony, pre-reception, mickey and minnie, dinner, cake, DP...at least that is the hope.

No, I definitely AM NOT getting up at some ridiculous hour. I refuse! :snooty:

The 12 month mark you get put into your wedding planners calendar for the date you want...not on the master...this is for an escape wedding...at 8 months out (3/30 for us!) we get put into the master and then we get out information packets and stuff...Right now I am just talking to a planner and getting my questions answered...Does that help?

My response card is somewhere in this journal...I'll find it and send it your way...or just send me a PM with your email and I'll send it over.

Oh of course! Now I remember!

My response card is probably going to end up half a page, because of the info I want my guests to give me!! Haha!

Maybe I should stick with something a lot more like yours...
