People taking pictures on Spaceship Earth despite being told to stop

When I was on Spaceship Earth these two Women in front of me had started taking pictures with a flash and the Cast Member in the loading area said they couldn't do that and they said ok. Well no more then 1 minute later they started doing that again basically taking flash pictures of everything on there, which was really annoying. However a lot of other guests were also doing that and I had actually wished that the Cast Members take away everyone's camera when they get on and get it back when the ride is over. Ok thank you all for letting me vent that out of my system.

Is it a "no flash" or a "no photography" ride? Most rides allow photography without flash, but I know there are a few that say no photography at all.

I just don't get why people do that. How many people actually go back afterward and look at the pictures? And how good could the pictures turn out, anyways? Jeesh.

As long as it doesn't bright up the area I don't see why it's such a big deal. Let people make memories how they want to, and you should worry about you.

I remember the Cast Member saying no pictures at all and didn't say anything about not using a flash.

I actually think the announcement on some of these rides varies over time. Same thing on Soarin. Sometimes they say "no photography". Sometimes they say just "no flash photography".

If you know what you're doing and have the right equipment, you can actually get some very cool shots. Tip number 1......... the flash actually ruins the photo (in addition to ruining the ride for everyone else).

I agree!:thumbsup2 As long as there's no flash involved, what's it matter to anyone else how you enjoy your vacation?

I'm in favor of confiscating cameras from people who use a flash on dark rides though!

The problem is it DOES "bright up the area" and that affects the other people on the ride. The OP said it was specifically flash photography. It ruins the effect the darkness intends, and often shows behind the scene mechanics that ruin the attraction.

It's rude and inconsiderate. If they say no flash photography, then they shouldn't use flash photography. It's not rocket science.

No flash=no problems...but I don't think 75% of people know how to disable the flash on their camera. Last time this happened to me was on POC....I was more than vocal trying to shame the offender into submission. By the end I was yelling at the top of my lungs, "No flash photography!!" It didn't work at all, but it helped to reduce my frustration/anger. If I had been 2 rows closer it may have gotten out of hand. I hate it when people can't/won't follow the rules!!

I agree, they are too stupid to know how to fix it. In our "all about me" society, they just want to get the picture they want, they don't care if they break the rules.

I was out in DL 3 weeks ago and they made an announcement no flash photography in the train tunnel with the dinosauers. Someone flashed, so they made another announcement. Still kept doing it. Made another announcement. I wish there was some way they could eject them.

Maybe they could have the dinosaurs eat them. ;)

plus, if I even see anyone with a camera out when loading a ride, where you sit with people in other parties, I'm going to ask wait for the next vehicle, this doesn't work for HM and Space though...but I'm so sick of that kind of behavior, I'd rather not take any chances when I can...

While one book of WDW trivia I have says to actually take a flash picture of the wall on the opposite side of the cave man scene for a surprise (I have NO idea what's there. anyone have a clue?), I really think it ruins the magic to take pictures with flash on a ride. Without flash it's okay, I guess...I've never thought about it before really :confused3

:rotfl2: I plan to be very vocal to stupid people my next trip; it may not help, but like someone else said, it helps reduce stress...:headache:

I agree!!! Usually the stupid ones don't seem to be able to be shamed but it does make me feel better, there is a video of Snow White out there somewhere that has to be watched without the sound on..............

Yes, I have read this as well. I have yet to figure out what it might be.

It really is annoying .I was on POC and some idiot in front of me kept taking flash photos and it did make the ride less enjoyable. I was on the verge of getting vocal about it but I decided to just let it go.
