Really? Expell someone from the park for taking flash photos? Isn't that a bit of an over-reaction? You'd really advocate kicking dad out of the park for taking a flash photo of his kids on POC?
Yes...I would.

Unless you're referring to a straw man poster, no one I've read in here is calling for someone who accidentally takes one flash photo, then turns the flash off, to be evicted. It is only for those who willfully disobey the rules and repeated warnings.
If you can find someone in this thread who calls for eviction after a one-time flash, please quote it. Otherwise, I don't think it's "unreasonable" to want to preserve the enjoyment of dark rides for those who follow the rules. I have no problem allowing for the one-time inadvertent flash. Everyone makes mistakes. But the repeated, willful flashing (ignoring repeated warnings) on dark rides is just plain wrong.
This! Of course common sense needs to rule here (no pun intended). You are right on point here! Accidents happen. It amazes me that some posters would even think that a one-time offender should get kicked out.
Isn't it a real shame that we have to talk about rules, enforcement, and punishment -- instead of people just behaving the way they're supposed to? If I had an expired FP, I'd never even think about trying to use it anyway. Maybe I'm just a goody-two-shoes (Okay, NOT!), but i just happen to believe in following the rules, especially when i'm a GUEST on somebody else's property. Just sayin'.
You are comparing two different things here. Disney allows the use of late fastpasses. There is no rule against it.

But from what i've read in the past, that is not the case. They are supposedly expired, and thus no longer valid. It's just that Disney has not been enforcing it (or, not enforcing it consistently?).Similar to the flash photography. If this is not the case, then I stand corrected on that.

I don't want to send this thread off track (there are about a gazillion fp threads if you want the most recent info/opinions you can search for them) but I will give a quick response. FP are valid until the end of the day they were printed on. They aren't accepted a minute early or any other day. There are sporatic threads that someone heard from a CM that fp times were going to be enforced "soon" or "in the future". If that ever happens I'm certain you will read it here the minute it happens. But, according to recent posts, it is business as usual.
Now back to the flash on dark rides discussion...
PS-I'm too busy watching the Phillies to focus on tbe Eagles yet!
It is relatively easy to take decent quality, non flash photos with a little learning. Actually, i try not to use my flash at all anymore- my Canon point and shoot does pretty well in low light on the AV setting.
Many people are just ignorant- they dont care that they may be ruining the ride for others. Which is why i confront the offenders now- ruin the ride for me, then I'll do my darndest to ruin it for you.
We were in EPCOT today and low and behold there were multiple flashes going on at the very top where the night sky is. U!h it drove us mad because you could see the set and all the speakers/backstage stuff, which spoilt the magic.I agree once is a mistake but multiple times is annoying.
And unfortunately they won't learn. Not even when they're staring at pictures of the equipment asking themselves why the picture of the "stars" didn't turn out.
I just got back from my trip, and I have to say people taking flash photos was noticeable worse this trip. Before this year, I'd see someone take a flash photo every once in awhile on random rides, I've also seen people at shows been told not to after they take one. This trip there seemed to be no enforcement of the no flash photo rule. The worst was on Pirates. I was on the back row, and the lady in the row in front of me continually turned around to take pictures, with the flash right in my face. I also saw flash photos on Splash, Tiki Room, Tower of Terror, Small World, and I'm pretty sure there were more.
