Patriots Fans~ It's time to...

Not at all, just merely pointing out that it is not yet another fabricated example of being over-confident that we were going to win. I'm not saying there were not fans/players that weren't acting that way, but to say we printed up all this stuff to shove it in others faces and gloat" is just another overembellishment.

Don't know why you put that phrase in quotes - I never came close to saying anything like that.

Have a nice day though - I know I will.

I must have missed something on here. I know I was never overly confident the Pats would win. I thought they would, but wasn't certain about it. The Giants played a heck of a game in week 17 and were red hot going in.

You're kidding, right? I think you should go back and re-read your own thread about the Super Bowl poll. You were sounding quite confident then - weren't worried that the Giants were on a roll; that Brady had a taped ankle, etc.

C'mon now!;)

I wasn't worried about those things. Of course I thought they were going to win. I don't think I was ever cocky sounding about it. If I was, I'm sure I'd have used a "wink". I'm from Boston, and a child of the '80's. I'm still prone to accpeting defeat as par for the course.

Sorry Boom but you posted on another thread they were definetly going to win.

I said they were "definitely" going to win?

I really thought the Pats were going to win. Not just being a fan, I thought they had a better team and better conditions suited for them. No doubt about it- The Giants handed it to them. They outplayed the Pats in every fassett of the game.

I understand Giselle made Tom's breakfast this morning...

"I don't wanna sound too confident, but with perfect weather conditions as it will be in Arizona, I can't see anybody stopping the Pats on even one drive. They just have too many weapons. Too many ways to get the job done."

Sound familiar?

I think the humble pie they are eating today is good enough!!!

Yeah, I did say that. I don't think that's being cocky. I was confident they were going to win. I'm very impressed with the Giants defense. They deserved to win.

In my opinion, I think this is being overly confident. Especially to say that you don't see anybody stopping the Pats on even one drive. Is that really showing the Giants respect? The fact that you don't think their defense could stop the Patriots on one drive.

I'm glad the Giants won. I got sooooo sick of hearing about the Patriots all year from the media. They sure shut the talking heads up! :rotfl:

I didn't mean to imply you personally said that but that is the belief of many.

Yes, but there is a big difference between saying thinking they are going to win, and saying that noone can stop their offense on even one drive.

Confidence is thinking your team will win and saying that. Being cocky is saying that noone can stop your offense on even one drive.

I really didn't think they could, after the week 17 game. Hey, they proved me wrong. They did their homework and it paid off. I give all the credit in the world to the Giants.

I feel bad for kids in N.E. They're not used to this feeling. For me, it makes me feel like a kid again. A sad kid, but a kid nonetheless.;)

Congrats Giants fans. Your defensive line was an adaptable bulldozing machine and you should definitely be very proud of them.

I'm all for good sportsmanship. But the Pats fans on the DIS boards gave the Giants no respect before the game. I don't remember them ever mentioning that the Giants were a good team and might give the Pats a game, before the game happened (I didn't read all the threads, so someone may have said it, but I don't remember reading it)

.

That's an untrue over generalization. I am a die hard Pats fan and never once have I lorded it over anyone on this board. In fact, I have said that I thought the Giants were going to win all along because of their strong defense.
I'm truly saddened and disgusted by all of the sore winners on this board :sad1:

I do have to say Bill Belacheck was a poor loser!!! He left the game before they even finished the 1 second. My DS12 said that was really poor sportsmanship and a bad role model for kids. I can't imagine any of their soccer, basketball, etc coaches getting away with that and still be considered a leader.

Everyone was trying to leave. The field was covered with fans. It looked like he was trying to get them to just run of the one second. He had already congratulated the Giant's coach. Not to mention they added the one second back to the clock after it had run down. Doesn't sound like he was being a poor looser, only pragmatic, which he is.

Congratulations to the Giants. You outplayed the Pats and deserved the win. Too bad your fans don't know how to be gracious in winning. I won't eat crow for loosing to a team who just simply played better.

We Giants fans this morning are waking up in fantasyland...We did it :cool1:

and I apologize to Eli & Co. for all the bad things I said about them after week two!

I think what really got me and the other Giants fans these past two weeks was when the Pats unveiled their plans for their victory parade on Tuesday...nothing like a little inspiration to get the boys going!
