Patriots Fans~ It's time to...

Ok, I'm neither a Pats nor a Giants fan. But after the way the Pats fans were bragging before the game, can you honestly say they (the fans that were bragging, not the players) don't deserve to have it put back in their face. I think I remember reading things people wrote like "We have Brady and you don't". And how many times did they post 19-0 the perfect season.

I'm all for good sportsmanship. But the Pats fans on the DIS boards gave the Giants no respect before the game. I don't remember them ever mentioning that the Giants were a good team and might give the Pats a game, before the game happened (I didn't read all the threads, so someone may have said it, but I don't remember reading it)

So I really don't think they can then come here after the game and say the Giants had a good game and then slam on the Giants fans for not returning the respect that the Pats fans did not give them to begin with.

Well said and thanks for your unbiased opinion.:thumbsup2

I've read plenty of obnoxioius posts from Pats fans the weeks leading up to this game. It was all in good fun then - you didn't hear us Giant fans complain about how "unsportsmanlike" they were being. Quite honestly, the tables have been turned on them for the first time this year and many of the Pats fans are just being sore losers. Not all of them though - I appreciate the congrats from those who were big enough to post today.

except their coach.

And their receiver with multiple arrests on his record dating back to highschool

So glad that Billicheat and the rest of them got beat last night....18-1!! I hope they sell T-shirts with that on it. :rotfl2:

They were so freakin' cocky going into that game and lost....I LOVED IT!

Our household was almost as excited last night about the Giants' victory as we were a year ago about the Colts'. Thank goodness "the best offense ever," "team that no one could possibly beat," favorite of the media, team that was caught cheating but wasn't forced to give up that victory, was beaten.

I agree. I'm as big a Pats fan as anybody and I can say with complete confidence, if they had won, I wouldn't be mocking the Giants or making fun of their fans. Kind of a bad example to be setting for our kids.

You would likely be the one of the only Pats fan not being like that today....the fans were so sure they were going to be granted the title of best team ever last night....and they didn't even get the title of Super Bowl Champ.

Speaking of bad example for kids....this was my conversation with my 7 year old this morning.

Son... "Who won the game last night?"

Me... "The Giants...they got a TD with 40 seconds left to win"

Son..."Good....I didn't want the cheaters to win"

Now what was that about examples being set for kids?!?!?! :confused3

Yeah, but all those tees and sweatshirts are already printed with "19-0" on them (yes, that's how over-confident they were up here!). They won't be able to give them away!
Sorry Pats - you had a great season, but in the end, it doesn't mean squat! I would rather be 12-4 and Super Bowl champs; then 18-1 and Super Bowl losers. It all boils down to the big game!

Better luck next year! (never thought I'd be saying that this morning!)

Thats not being cocky or over-confident, thats called marketing. Do you think they printed up those Superbowl winners T-shirts & hats that the giants were wearing after the game as the clock ran out....I don't think so. EVERY SINGLE SPORT has the shirts, etc. already printed as if that team won, it is no different in baseball or any other sports. The paraphanelia (sp?) is printed up ahead of time and yes, even the Giants fans would have been sporting 19-0 t-shirts PREGAME if they had the same season.

Sorry Boom but I saw you posted this before the game already rolling eyes at the Giants.

Here we go again.

All teams videotape the other teams. It's perfectly legal and still occurs. What the Patriots did in the 1st quarter during the 1st game of the season, was videotape from the sidelines as opposed to the bleachers or press box.

Of course, that's why the Patriots are 18-0.

Oh my! A bit cranky this morning! Ok, you win the marketing argument!

I don't think they were at all. They were giving the Giants their props and never sounded too cocky to me. In fact, the only person on either team who sounded cocky was Burress.

I'll stand by the Pats on this. They get alot of unnecessary and unwarranted grief for being cocky. Not at all true. If someone can give me one example of a Patriot being as cocky as Smith from Pittsburg was or Burress from the Giants was, I'd appreciate it.

.

So when Brady said something to the fact that Burress should have the Pats scoring more than 17 points, that wasn't cocky?

So when Brady said something to the fact that Burress should have the Pats scoring more than 17 points, that wasn't cocky?

What should he have said when he was asked?

"Yes. We're only going to score 17 points. In fact, we'll probably lose the game."

I don't think his reply was at all cocky. He said "I hope we're going to score more than 17 points."

Brady burst out laughing when he heard Burress' comment: "Us? Score only 17 pts.? Ha! Ha!"

Who's laughing now?

You said you wouldn't be mocking the Giants but you were doing so before the game, rolling your eyes at us thinking you were going to win at all.

When did I do that? I rolled my eyes about the cheating comments (and I still would.) That had nothing to do with the Giants or their fans. I don't know what else I can say. The Giants played better and they won. Hats off to them. I'm a Pats fan and I wish they had won, but what can you do? Life goes on.

Not at all, just merely pointing out that it is not yet another fabricated example of being over-confident that we were going to win. I'm not saying there were not fans/players that weren't acting that way, but to say we printed up all this stuff to "shove it in others faces and gloat" is just another overembellishment.

Actually this is what he said:

"We're only going to score 17 points?" Brady said before chuckling about it. "OK. Is Plax playing defense? I wish he had said 45-42 and gave us a little credit for scoring more points."

And I'm thinking the fact that he laughed during the comment goes to show he didn't have a whole lot of respect for the Giants defense and he was being quite cocky about his offense.

I must have missed something on here. I know I was never overly confident the Pats would win. I thought they would, but wasn't certain about it. The Giants played a heck of a game in week 17 and were red hot going in.

I can see how a non-Pats fan would think that. That's just Brady's demeanor. If you listened to all of his interviews, not just the ones on media day which are all a joke, you'd know he had the utmost respect for the Giants and their defense. Brady is many things - Cocky isn't one of them.

Bottom of the last page, there was a comment made about the Patriots/Pats fans having all this stuff printed up with 19-0 and how that is an example of us being over-confident. I was called "cranky" because I pointed out it was marketing, not another example of us being big headed

Sorry Boom but you posted on another thread they were definetly going to win.
