So when Brady said something to the fact that Burress should have the Pats scoring more than 17 points, that wasn't cocky?
You know...I knew that comment would come back to bite him in that cute little behind. Man, if a player is confident, it's trash talk? Please. That's about the only example you will find of any kind of 'trash talk' coming from NE.
Not at all, just merely pointing out that it is not yet another fabricated example of being over-confident that we were going to win. I'm not saying there were not fans/players that weren't acting that way, but to say we printed up all this stuff to "shove it in others faces and gloat" is just another overembellishment.
Have to agree......
All printers have the presses ready to go....with many items all ready done. It's not 'in your face'...it's just business being done. You surely can't blame that on the Patriots or their fans.
I'm glad the Giants won. I got sooooo sick of hearing about the Patriots all year from the media. They sure shut the talking heads up!
From our vantage point, the media was not kind throughout the year. There were many more times when the NE fans turned off the national coverage sound and listened to the game via local radio while watching the tv. Why? Way too much negative stuff. No matter what the Pats came up with, there was always a big 'yeah, but.....' coming from the announcers.
Besides....what the heck is wrong with anyone, media or fan, talking about a team as it marched toward a perfect season? Sheesh..you would think the Pats had raped and pillaged through the heartland of America. They had a perfect regular season. You can't take that away. Yes, it sure would have been nice to win the 'big one', but they didn't. They got their clocks cleaned..pure and simple. Many Pats fans knew this could happen. Heck, we have been underdogs and done the same thing. We're not stupid....only an idiot would dismiss any other team that was good enough to get to the Super Bowl, especially one we had a tough time with just several weeks previously.
Most of us realized that all it would take was for the Pats to have a less than stellar, perfect game while the Giants have a great game, for the tide to turn. Which it did. The Giants defense was a Brady stomping machine..you don't know how it kills me to say that. But, fair is fair. They whopped him but good. Were mistakes made by NE? Sure. And they have a long time to sit and reflect on 'em.
See you all next season.
