Passport for child

So hopefully final update......we got it today...Had time slip to pick up between 1-4pm today....arrived right at 1pm,,,looked in pc,,,not ready,,,,WHAT,,,come back in 1 hr.....went had lunch came in at 220pm,,,big line,,,did not wait in it,,,,,right to front,,,passport now ready and in hand....Good Luck to all still needing. any questions,,please ask here or dm me for maybe some work arounds.
Now just to get a plane that doesnt get cancelled and luggage there.....once there,,,if we have to stay dont think Hawaii is a bad place to be stranded.

So happy for you! Your saga has been relentless to say the least. Now to just finish packing and soon enjoy your vacay! I'll need trip reports (travel, resort, the whole shebang).

For those that have received the passports,,,how did they come? did they come in reg mail at the mailbox? or did you need to pick up and show ID at a post office?

We are waiting for passports for 7 kids right now We applied in person at the end of May and even though I filled out an inquiry form a few weeks ago, I haven’t heard anything. I’m dreading calling and tiring on hold for hours, but with our travel being about a month away I’m getting nervous!!!

We submitted in person at our local service Canada location!

So if all the kids are under 16 and your driving they told me you dont need a passport just a birth cert. But you do need them for flights.
It sucks but I hope you dont have to wait early in the am..If your a distance from a Passport office I know there are people, not sure how to hook up with them, prob FB or craigslist,,that will line sit for you. The ones I spoke with when I lined up it was approx $30 per hour,,,4-5 hours b4 they let people in at 7am where I was is plenty of time. But the passport office will only see you if you fly in under 5 days,,,and you will probably need to return in 2 business days to pick up....sucks

We've got progress! We filed DS's application in person at a Service Canada counter on April 26th and yesterday we received... his old passport back

Did you receive it by regular mail or did you need a signature to get the old passports?
We got a delivery notice today for both my children a/s my husbands name (and they never receive anything by mail in their name) and we need to go pick them tomorrow…
I’m really hoping it’s the real deal and not just the old expired passports
Because that would be terribly disappointing… we leave in two weeks

I just got a call from the passports office
I had been in contact with my local parliament representative and they called to accelerate the process
The passports will be printed this afternoon and we should get them by Mail within 3-4 days!
Hopefully everything goes smoothly and we receive them by the end of the week!

Thanks for posting this, if we hit August and no passport, I may try this route- we travel the Tuesday after labour day, which seems a while out, but with all the delays, stat, etc, this is starting to stress me out for sure.

My sister in law was still waiting for her kids' passports and she contacted her own MP, she received a call later and they should be able to pick up their passports in the next week!
We are travelling in two weeks - we contacted them 10 days ago so it looks like they accelerated the process!
Good luck to everyone waiting - and really hoping it works and we get everything soon!

So my 16 year old's passport was returned to us today, application, photos, id and all. It says we're missing supplementary identification issued by a federal/provincial authority which includes a picture. We supplied old passport and birth certificate. She doesn't have anything else. She's 16. No drivers license yet, no health card with a picture. I don't know what to do. I can't get her a new pictured health card in time I don't think. We travel in just under 4 weeks.

Sounds like she needs a Photo Card. Not sure if you are in Ontario but if you are you get them from Service Ontario. I think you can expedite delivery to 5 days.

The Ontario Photo Card is a wallet sized card that provides government-issued identification to those Ontarians who do not have a driver's licence, making it easier for them to do things such as open a bank account and any other activities that require official identification.

I’m so sorry this happened. Some type of ID is needed when getting an adult passport. I would contact service ontario and look into expediated service for a photo health card or ID card.

If you can get one in the next week or two, I would then make an appointment at a passport office if you can and pay for expediated service for that.
