Parents of Teen Boys: Where Do You Buy Their Jeans

I'm sure Lands End is not "cool" enough, but maybe for jeans, it might be okay if they fit.

I just ordered some Land's End for my 11yo. He is a 8-10 around, but a 16 tall. I used to buy old navy, but they stop slims at a 12S, I haven't been able to find Levis bigger than a 14S. He also will have to wear a belt.

You can find lots and lots of Husky jeans though :sad2:

Old Navy. I've had better luck online, but once in a while I stumble on the right size at a store.

My DS is 13. He's 6' 1", 130 pounds and should wear a 28-34. I usually end up buying a 30-34 and make him wear a belt.

My DS is the same way. He usually does pretty well at American Eagle. This year we had to buy uniform khakis and it was hard because he also should wear a 28/34 but they don't make them that we have found. We ended up at The Gap with 30/34s and a belt, but I am waiting for him to be sent home because his pants are too loose.

They seem to make lots of pants for really skinny girls because my DD isn't as thin as her DB and we have a hard time finding pants for her too.

My DS (who was 13 in June) gets all of his shorts/jeans/pants at Vanity Fair. They carry Wrangler, Lee and other brands. He is 5' 11 1/2" tall and weighs 175. He generally wears 38x34, sometimes 36x34.

They carry lots of different size combinations, so we never have any trouble finding the right fit.

I guess I'll have to try some of my his favorite stores online then.

He has the "body" for American Eagle jeans and he likes that style; however, our store NEVER carries a 28 waist with a long length. I've been looking for over a year and they never have them.

My son, because he is thin, looks horrible in the "carpenter style" "skateboard style" jeans--i.e., loose cut jeans. Those styles are made for a more solidly built, muscular type. This is all I ever seen in Kohl's or in Target's boy's section. I'm just shocked at how short the jeans are in the boy's section. He is truly in a size 16 for boys but they aren't long enough. We had great luck, all last year with the Arizona jeans, but the 16s are now getting tight and the 18's just don't have the right fit. Weird how it all changes.

What I did think was odd was how short the boy's jeans were in Target as compared to the same size jean in the girls department. The girl's size 16's had plenty of length.:confused3
