Over 3 weeks and no closing docs yet

First contracts but I thought it would be 2-3 weeks. I'm anxious and want to book a January trip!

Is this a normal wait time?

You means since you received notification of passing ROFR, correct? Have you contacted the title company to see what the delay is? That is what I would suggest.

Yes and I emailed and didn't get a response yet. Nerve wracking lol

I passed Rofr on November 4th. I think ROFR only took a couple weeks. After passing ROFR so quickly asked my broker if I should expect closing to occur in November. He told me that the estoppels are taking much longer and that I should still expect a closing in December. He told me the next step would be the title company contacting me and then I'd need to send them the $ within a few days after that. If two to three weeks was average I figure it will be at least 4 weeks from passing ROFR before the title company contacts me. Good luck and please post when you hear from them.

I got an email from the title company. They said my closing docs should be out the beginning of next week.

I'm way too impatient for that LOL

Based on that I figure it'll be mid-December until I get my member number and points and we are planning a trip for the week of January 11! Ahhh!

Did you ever find out how long it took to receive the estoppel? Was this a slow title company or slow disney? Or both?

Not to be a downer, but just a heads up that as of today, the only availability for that week is a 1BR or 2BR at SSR. There are no studios anywhere that are open all 7 days, and most rooms are showing partial or no availability. By the time you are in the system and able to book, you will probably only be 2-3 weeks out from your planned trip and the odds of getting more than 1-2 consecutive nights in the same room or resort are very slim. It *can* happen, people cancel all the time, especially in the winter, but I wanted to give you a friendly reality check and let you know that you are may be out of luck for this trip.

Don't worry, though...you have plenty of years ahead of you to enjoy your DVC membership.

Oh my. SSR is one of our home resorts so we'd be quite happy staying there. Thank you for checking on all that! If we have to move around a little, I'd be good with that too. We're flexible.

I guess we'll have to see when the time comes. We can move our week too. January is just a good month for us as the BF's business is slower then.

Do you think being this flexible works better?

One of my 2 contracts just arrived in my email! We'll send it back tomorrow and hope it moves fast! Hopefully the sellers do too!
