Resort Thread Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS Resort

I am going in December to visit DD in DCP. I was booked at Pop at rack rate (no CM discounts for our dates and she checks daily) but some 20% off rooms opened up at CSR so I booked it. This will be our third stay there and I'm very excited. It will also be my birthday while I'm down there so I decided to upgrade a bit.

We stayed there on a mother daughter trip in 2022 and a few weeks ago we visited her as a family (SO, DS, DS GF). We had two rooms and used her CM discount. On that trip I really realized how much I truly like CSR. Since it was all adults we utilized more of the offerings. We ate at Toledo, hung out at Dahlia lounge, got coffee a few times and chilled out at Barcelona lounge, spent time at the pool (this time having a few drinks and eating), mobile ordered Three Bridges while we watched the Phillies game in the room and watched the Eagles game at Rix Sports Bar. On our last morning I actually got some coffee from Barcelona lounge and a donut at Cafe Rix and sat by the water and relaxed alone for an hour or two while everyone slept in.

We've been in Ranchos both times so this trip I requested Casitas. I would like to be closer to the tower even though I don't find it to be a long walk. Last trip I would've requested Casitas but our only request was connecting/adjoining rooms as to make it more likely to get the request which we did.

We've never had issues with the buses and rarely have to stand. I have been on the bus where it never pulls into the tower on the way to the parks since the bus is already full to capacity. I've also seen the bus too full to put another ECV on.
This year has had so few CM Holiday Room discounts!! We are having to split stay at CSR....3 nights in Casita's and 3 nights in the Tower room....
we have never had so much trouble trying to book a resort!!!
We too check daily to see if any other rooms pop up!!!
Enjoy your trip!!!

Yes, it's slim pickings this December! POR and AK popped up a few times a few months ago but I didn't have her book.

I've read on the FB DCP parents group that there are some discounts on weekdays. I'm going 12/5 - 12/9 a Friday-Tuesday. I'm hoping at the 30 day mark something opens up but if not I'm very happy with CSR. We could've done a split stay but for 4 nights I didn't want to be bothered. Just hurts to be paying almost double what I paid earlier this month! In August we got AoA LM room for about $120 a night and we really liked the resort.

My husband and I spent the Thanksgiving holidays at Caribbean Beach Resort but took a trip over to Coronado Springs just to have another look around, The resort was decorating for Christmas and it was gorgeous!

We've stayed at CSR a few times several years ago and always ended up in the Cabanas section. I liked that section and the closeness to the Tower, but I felt like being the last bus stop caused the buses to be completely full and wouldn't even stop or full enough that we typically had to stand on the bus. We're now booked again at CSR in 2026 and wondering if we should request Casitas 4/5 or Ranchos to help with the bus situation and just walk further to the lobby/Tower/amenities when needed. Does anyone think that this might be for the better? I think it might be, but maybe the bus situation has improved at CSR since we've stayed there in 2020. 🤷‍♀️

Yes, they do a wonderful job decorating for the holidays! We stayed there last December in the Tower, and it was so festive. These are the decorations from last year so I don't know how much they may have changed. I should have got photos of the lobby lights as they change from red to green. Very beautiful!

We like either Casitas Preferred or we have been successful the times we have requested Casitas 4 or 5 when Preferred was not available.

We will not reserve CSR again if Preferred is not available.

We have seen the buses many times standing room only when they get to Cabanas, then the pass right by the Tower.

I was there last week. I think Mon - thru Wens there were also two conventions there. I've stayed mostly in Casitas but have been in Cabanas twice and this time was in Ranchos. It might just be the times I was on the bus but going to the parks there was never a time it didn't stop at all the stops. I think one morning it might have been standing room only by the time it got to the tower but that was it. Unless you are paying for preferred, keep in mind your request is just that so you might not get Casitas or Ranchos. I actually never request anything except early check in but this time I did put Casitas as my 2nd choice. So I got Ranchos. Since I had never stayed in that section I was kind of glad just to check it out. I didn't find the walk to the tower that bad at all. I actually timed the walk from El Mercado back to my room the first night and walking at a leisurely pace it took me 7 1/2 min. I was in section 6A. I will say if you take the bridge that ends up at the pool there is a section on the way to 6 section that is not well lit and I didn't feel completely comfortable walking it by myself. After that I just took the split left at 3 Bridges and walked down the Casitas side. That might actually have been a tad shorter for section 6. The pool bridge is shorter for the 7 section.

I’ve stayed at CSR three times and been in Ranchos each time. I think it actually works best due to the bus situation. Often times the bus is full when it gets to the tower or just skips it all together.

My first trip I requested Casitas and got Ranchos (one of the 6 buildings) and was very close to a bus stop. Second trip I only requested connecting rooms and got 7B and weren’t they close to a bus stop. This past trip I requested Casitas close to bus stop and got Ranchos 7A but very close to a bus stop.

We really enjoy CSR and if we stay there again I will only request close to bus stop. I prefer that to anything. I just got back yesterday and had another great trip.

FWIW all of my tower stays the bus is usually empty / a separate bus than rest of the resort. That’s for mornings and busy times. Middle of the day everyone fits on one bus.

I would get off the 1st stop and walk to the tower when returning. I could see the beautiful resort and pop into shops on my way.

That makes sense on why the tower gets “skipped” at times. They are getting their own buses which makes complete sense.

We love Coronado! The bar on the top floor has an outdoor area and you can see for miles. The apps are good and so are the drinks.
