our non-rushing (sorta) disney anniversary w/ PICS & VIDEO! new TR link - p. 136

That can be so depressing, I know last year when I got my renewal offer I thought about it breifly, but decided against it. I also debated whether or not to upgrade to an AP this trip, since I may go with a friend in a few months, but that trip gets more and more expensive, so I don't know, (off property, and a fifteen hour drive doesn't seem that appealing to me either.) So now I think maybe no trips in 2009 for me, but maybe two in 2010, one in the spring for the Flower and Garden festival, and one in the fall for the Food and Wine festival.

it's so hard to plan out future disney trips because there are so many times i want to go and so many different things i want to see! i think my goal though is to be able to go to the food and wine festival next time.

WHAT??? Are you even allowed to say that??? What will we do without your TRs in 2009??? :sad1:

a girl has to have babies sometime!

I just looked up their website -- there is one close by and their menu looks good! Of course, I saw several things I would like to try there and none of them were the bison.

we've eaten there twice. the first time i got a burger and it was really good. the second time i wasn't very hungry so i just got a salad and a side of squash casserole and they were both really good. they also bring out these cucumber things as an appetizer (for free) and they're sooooo good. and i don't even like cucumbers!

Mine just expired. I mourned its loss.
It was a good one - six trips!
I am debating getting a new one for the November trip, because I know we have the ten day summer trip, and if I possibly can, I'd like to go in October next year again. I'd have to take a couple of days off of school again, like I did last year, and that's always iffy depending on what's going on at school. So, I could get it and get two trips out of it for sure, and possibly three. I could also pay for a regular ticket for the short trip in November and get an AP when we go next summer that will last all the way through the next summer's trip. By then, Jill will be able to travel again, and maybe we could take another mother/daughter/kids trip between the two summer trips, like maybe spring break. With that option, I'd get two ten day trips and a 5-6 day spring trip. (Did you understand all of that jibberish?) I've got to do some thinking. I sure did like getting those AP rates on rooms.

i'm dizzy! :rotfl: you think like me though. i have to consider EVERY option before i make a decision and it gets really complicated really fast!

I can't imagine how dismal 2009 is going to be for all of your faithful readers. No trip for punkin? No crazy Ray pictures? I hope your baby plans go just how you want them to, and when you do get to go back with your little one, it will be all that much more magical and exciting!

now i didn't say i WOULDN'T be going in 2009....just that i didn't have any plans to. ;) no, seriously. i really do have to take a break to try to start a family possibly in 2009 or maybe early 2010. we'll see! as much as i don't like to admit it, there are other places to vacation. and ray reminds me of that every now and then. but i'm very lucky because he understands my love of disney and he supports me in it (most of the time)!

Hi Dawn,

I just wanted to check in now that I am caught up. I can't wait to hear about the P&P party! pirate: princess:

Thanks for the pics of wilderness lodge. Someday I dream to be able to afford to stay there. We ended up cancelling our dinner ADR's for WCC so I missed out on the yummy looking skillet dinner, next time I guess.

I'm so glad to hear that Ray is coming around with Epcot. DH and I loved world showcase! It was fun to do with the kids but on our adults only night we were able to focus on something other than passports and smashed pennies. Next time, you HAVE to catch illuminations, so cool!! Just make sure you get a spot where you can see the water. The night we went as grown-ups, we decided to enjoy the pavillions longer and caught illuminations just as it was starting. A couple days later, we staked out a great spot and I realized how much I had missed due to my short little legs and dozens of people ahead of me.

thanks for the advice about illuminations! i hope to see it in september when me and erica go. i did find out that the globe will be under refurb when we're there so i won't get the full effect, but we'll definitely see it in december.

But WE are going in less than 3 WEEKS!!!!

oh......believe me........i know!!!! i'm getting SO excited! 3 weeks from right now we may be at the AC or maybe getting ready for bed at pop and our first big day at epcot the next day! tomorrow we're in the teens!!!!!!

Meeeeee Tooooooo! I really would have thought that it would have started by now  but I already told them at work I would be grumpy tomorrow b/c I would be staying up late

it's starting right now!!! :yay: i have court tomorrow so i'm gonna be in bad shape too.

I am so with you about being bummed about Disney mail.... after 3 years and 5 trips I finally got a pin code in the mail.... and we aren't planning on going back for a while. :guilty: Bummer.

I'm SO PROUD of these GIRLS!!!!!!!

 :yay: :woohoo: :dance3: :woohoo: :yay:

GO USA!!!!!

me too!!!!!!!!!!! :yay: :yay: :yay: wow.....that was just great. i was thinking shawn was going to win from watching her in the team competition, but nastia was just better than her tonight. they both did AWESOME though!

the medal ceremony is starting.....i'm gonna boo hoo!!!

i hope they can do something about all the judging delays that have been going on by 2012!

okay......who else here watches jon & kate plus 8? i just absolutely love that show! i think the reason i love it so much (besides the fact that the kids are ADORABLE) is because i know no matter how bad things may get, at least i don't have 8 kids!!!!! :lmao:

how exciting that you're staying at WL! i think that will definitely be our goal on the next trip. not the one in december but the as-yet-unplanned one in the future! i'm a klutz too so i don't think i could handle one of those segways. i'd totally wreck!

luckily it wasn't too hot that day (remember this was early may) so we didn't roast, but the sun does get hot QUICK in florida no matter how cool the air is!

i got the figurines in a store on main street at MK. i don't remember exactly which store it was but it may have been the watch store or the art store? anyway, if you're facing the castle it's on the right somewhere in between the candy store and the plaza. i know that's a big range but at least you can have fun looking! sorry i can't give you the exact location.

oh, i want to stay there so bad! maybe in a couple of years. we have both agreed to make starting a family our #1 priority in 2009, so we'll see after that!

WDW could be a great place to make a baby! :thumbsup2 If you're not doing a TR, you can do a baby thread like Dan (AKA FauntleroyFan) did! You know we will want to be in on the nursery planning, baby shower, pics of the baby....

I love all the fun pics you guys do!

We are planning to do WCC on our next trip - I have been worried about the craziness, but I just have to check it out!

I can't wait to see what you and Winkers were up to!

a girl has to have babies sometime!

i'm dizzy! :rotfl: you think like me though. i have to consider EVERY option before i make a decision and it gets really complicated really fast!

Babies? Babies is plural, you know. And you said you're only going for one, which could mean you secretly know this will bring twins - a perfect little angel girl and a charming little firecracker of a boy - one for each of you to hold a hand as you're walking through the park toward the castle. Picture it - each of them with their little Mickey ears....aaahhh, yeah! Now that is living!

It is well-known that I am the world's worst decision maker. I walk along the fence until someone pushes me off to one side or the other.

I predict you'll be wrapping the little one/ones up, leaving the hospital, and heading for a Magic Kingdom bus stop!!!

Too bad you're not coming to Nashville this weekend. We're having a big Michaelsulley party tomorrow!

i was thinking shawn was going to win from watching her in the team competition, but nastia was just better than her tonight. they both did AWESOME though!

Nastia was the 6ths better than Shawn on the uneven bars that's where the difference came for sure

They both are just so great though...just got done watching them on the Today show they are SO cute!!!

the medal ceremony is starting.....i'm gonna boo hoo!!!

I did boo hoo

i hope they can do something about all the judging delays that have been going on by 2012!

At least the vaults were set at the right hights and other crazy things didn't happen like last time (or it could have been the time before last :confused3) I just remember it was nuts!

This is exactly what I want if I have kiddos....boy and girl twins

The only family I sat for were twins and I LOVED them!! A friend of mine just had twins too and they are SO precious!

Too bad you're not coming to Nashville this weekend. We're having a big Michaelsulley party tomorrow!

HAVE FUN!! You guys always have the coolest parties!! :woohoo:

Ok - I have a lot to say on this post because I have been away (Aug 10th-14th) so I'm catching up on my TR's.

First of all, glad to hear the boys are doing well. Also tell Anna I know exactly how she feels about her baby going to preschool, my third and last child will be starting in a couple of weeks and I can feel the water works coming already. It doesn't get any easier either, then they graduate preschool - you cry, they go to kindergarten - you cry. I have been crying for years now  . Love your pictures with Hook and Mr Smee, too cute. Hmmmmmmmmm, I think I'll wear a tink shirt when we go next time and see what he does ;) Hook is my DS9 favorite guy too.

Oh and you're not a dork because I take pictures with those statues too. This one was actually in MGM (yes it was MGM when this was taken, many moons ago).

WaltandI.jpg

I absolutely love those Jim Shore figurines. I looked on his website and there is a Mickey pumpkin one I want so bad for my fireplace.

okay......who else here watches jon & kate plus 8? i just absolutely love that show! i think the reason i love it so much (besides the fact that the kids are ADORABLE) is because i know no matter how bad things may get, at least i don't have 8 kids!!!!! :lmao:

I love that show and so does my DD2, it's her "baby show". I agree too that they have a real relationship as well but sometimes she can be a little rough. But I think that's just her. I think she's very organized but she has to be with 8 kids. I have only 3 and I envy her for her organizational skills. Aiden is my favorite, who's yours?

Oh another thing I love the Olympics too. I was kinda sad because we were away and I missed alot because there was only one TV in the room but I did see some swimming. Go Michael Phelps.

wow return from a business trip and find some great updates, thanks for all the great reads...it was very good and great pics.

not going in 2009 hey me neither, we are going to take a couple of week long trips to other places, but at least my TR from december will go pretty far into 2009 so that will keep me busy.

then i get to go for 2 weeks in 2010 so that is going to get me through it.

htose figurines are awesome...do they seem to have the same ones year after year, or do they change them alot....just asking because i was going to start letting candi get them, and wanted to know if you would have to buy the whole set at once, or could get them year after year.

Ohhh, we love Jon & Kate plus 8 too!!!!!!! My dd-11 has been calling me at work this summer and teasing me that she is watching the show and I'm at work! Not fair I tell her! hehehe

She is alittle uptight with the dirty clothes thing but I can't really talk cuz I don't have 8 kids! I can't even imagine!

GO USA! I love the Olympics! I"m so proud of our girls and of course Michael Phelps!

me too!!!!!!!!!!! :yay: :yay: :yay: wow.....that was just great. i was thinking shawn was going to win from watching her in the team competition, but nastia was just better than her tonight. they both did AWESOME though!

the medal ceremony is starting.....i'm gonna boo hoo!!!

I stayed up late watching too but since I am a teacher still on summer break, I could sleep in. I agree nastia did better last night than Shawn but since I am from Iowa too, I am really rooting Shawn on in the upcoming round, would LOVE to see her win a gold. I too cried during the medal ceremony but it doesn't take a whole lot to get me to

Babies? a perfect little angel girl and a charming little firecracker of a boy - one for each of you to hold a hand as you're walking through the park toward the castle. Picture it - each of them with their little Mickey ears....aaahhh, yeah! Now that is living!

Then Dawn can start counting her own kids meltdowns!! Trust me...it will happen!!! We spent 45 minutes waiting for my almost 7 yo to stop wailing before I was willing to take him on the monorail (screaming kid + crowded monorail = no fun for everyone!!) BUT, staying through wishes and riding a few last rides at night (the carousel takes on a new magic all lit up) was probably worth it.

holy cow......if you just saw that michael phelps race you are probably as blown away as i am! that was unbelievable. i didn't think there was any way he could win and he did......by .01 seconds!

I can't wait to see what you and Winkers were up to!

 i guess i'll have to start a thread over on the community board if i ever do get pregnant so everyone can follow along. we didn't see much craziness at WCC but i think that's because we went during lunch and it was pretty quiet that day. i've heard dinner is pretty crazy though!

Now that is living!

um.........no. i can tell you with complete confidence that i have absolutely no desire to have twins! :scared1: if it happens, i'll be okay. but i'm by no means wishing for it. no way! so that pretty little picture you have in your head.....take that and replace the kid that ray's walking hand-in-hand with and replace it with an empty stroller! :lmao: and i say babies because otherwise if i say "a child" or "a baby" then i have to explain to 10,000 people why i don't want to have more than one. most people don't get that so i don't try to explain it. ;)

I predict you'll be wrapping the little one/ones up, leaving the hospital, and heading for a Magic Kingdom bus stop!!!

i wish!!!! believe me, if it was up to me, i'd be there as soon as i felt up to it. ray will say things like "we probably don't need to go back until he/she is like 4." what??????????? are you crazy?????? i'm going as often as possible while they're free!!!! :rotfl2: plus it's just so cute to see their reactions to the characters when they're so little.

Too bad you're not coming to Nashville this weekend. We're having a big Michaelsulley party tomorrow!

bummer!!!!! i missed it by one week. i'm coming up there next weekend to say bye to my sister who is moving to connecticut at the end of the month. :sad1:

Nastia was the 6ths better than Shawn on the uneven bars that's where the difference came for sure

They both are just so great though...just got done watching them on the Today show they are SO cute!!!

I did boo hoo

i balled when she started crying right before they announced her as the olympic champion! did you see when they showed bella carolli (no idea how to spell his name!) when he was watching her floor routine? he was hilarious!

At least the vaults were set at the right hights and other crazy things didn't happen like last time (or it could have been the time before last :confused3) I just remember it was nuts!

seriously! i remember that too, but i can't remember if it was 2000 or 2004.

This is exactly what I want if I have kiddos....boy and girl twins

you WANT twins? are you high, clarie? (<---- shout out to my favorite movie of all time, "steel magnolias"!)

The only family I sat for were twins and I LOVED them!! A friend of mine just had twins too and they are SO precious!

i just can't imagine having to do DOUBLE of everything....changing, feeding, burping, bathing, potty training, etc., etc., etc. :scared1:

Ok - I have a lot to say on this post because I have been away (Aug 10th-14th) so I'm catching up on my TR's.

First of all, glad to hear the boys are doing well. Also tell Anna I know exactly how she feels about her baby going to preschool, my third and last child will be starting in a couple of weeks and I can feel the water works coming already. It doesn't get any easier either, then they graduate preschool - you cry, they go to kindergarten - you cry. I have been crying for years now  .

she's getting used to it now and he's doing okay. he had to sit in time out for hitting but other than that and a little crying in the morning, it's going well. we went over to their house for dinner tonight and he sang me a song he learned at school about 5 little monkeys sitting in a tree and a crocodile and burping. pretty informative! :rotfl2:

Love your pictures with Hook and Mr Smee, too cute. Hmmmmmmmmm, I think I'll wear a tink shirt when we go next time and see what he does ;) Hook is my DS9 favorite guy too.

he's just so much fun!

Oh and you're not a dork because I take pictures with those statues too. This one was actually in MGM (yes it was MGM when this was taken, many moons ago).

WaltandI.jpg

where is this statue? i've seen it in pics before but i've never seen it when i'm there. i probably walked right by it and didn't notice! great picture, by the way!

I absolutely love those Jim Shore figurines. I looked on his website and there is a Mickey pumpkin one I want so bad for my fireplace.

i can't wait to see which ones they have in 3 weeks b/c i'm getting another one!

I love that show and so does my DD2, it's her "baby show". I agree too that they have a real relationship as well but sometimes she can be a little rough. But I think that's just her. I think she's very organized but she has to be with 8 kids. I have only 3 and I envy her for her organizational skills. Aiden is my favorite, who's yours?

aiden is my favorite, too!!!! i love when he gets up into the camera. DO YOU SEE ME??????? he's so cute! i also love alexis and hannah. i love it when alexis says, "hannah pooped in hannah's undawhares." just precious!!! i think she's a little harsh but it's nothing i would call abusive. jon says things to her too that kind of strike me as a little harsh but she's just more vocal than he is.

Oh another thing I love the Olympics too. I was kinda sad because we were away and I missed alot because there was only one TV in the room but I did see some swimming. Go Michael Phelps.

we always get SO into the olympics. ray especially loves it since he was here for the 1996 olympics and got to go to several events. he saw michael johnson win a race that year. he also went to a baseball game and some rowing events. he has a suitcase FULL of memorabilia from those games. i was still living in nashville at the time, but i came down one weekend and we were gonna try to get tickets to something while i was here, but that was the weekend of the bombing and so they shut everything down that weekend. figures! (by the way, see what i said above about phelps!)

wow return from a business trip and find some great updates, thanks for all the great reads...it was very good and great pics.

not going in 2009 hey me neither, we are going to take a couple of week long trips to other places, but at least my TR from december will go pretty far into 2009 so that will keep me busy.

maybe if i have a trip planned in 2010 i'll be able to keep my sanity in 2009! i can't complain though - i've gotten to go 3 times this year and most people can't say that. i'm very lucky and very grateful!

this is the first year i've bought them so i don't know if they change or not. he has a website though - just google jim shore and i'm sure you can find it easily. that way you can look to see what's available.

I"m so proud of our girls and of course Michael Phelps!

that show is just great. i think it's good that ray and i are watching it now BEFORE we have a kid because anything we end up with will be better than having 8! :lmao:

phelps just one the 50 meter fly - unbelievable!

I stayed up late watching too but since I am a teacher still on summer break, I could sleep in. I agree nastia did better last night than Shawn but since I am from Iowa too, I am really rooting Shawn on in the upcoming round, would LOVE to see her win a gold. I too cried during the medal ceremony but it doesn't take a whole lot to get me to

i was routing for both of them, honestly. i didn't have a favorite....they're both so good! shawn is just great on the beam - maybe she'll win the gold in that!

Then Dawn can start counting her own kids meltdowns!! Trust me...it will happen!!! We spent 45 minutes waiting for my almost 7 yo to stop wailing before I was willing to take him on the monorail (screaming kid + crowded monorail = no fun for everyone!!) BUT, staying through wishes and riding a few last rides at night (the carousel takes on a new magic all lit up) was probably worth it.

oh, i have no doubt. meltdowns are inevitable at disney. emotions are running SO high that they just can't handle when something doesn't go their way! i totally get it. oh, and thank you for not getting on the monorail with a screaming kid. i'm sure everyone appreciated that!

just a warning - half of these are my pics and half are anna's. for some reason when i post them some are bigger than others. sorry about that!

----------------

so after our nice afternoon break and freshening up, we were off to the pirate and princess party!!!!!!!! we were all SO excited to be going. we left for the bus stop around 4:30.

luke had just woken up from a nap so he was slowly warming up to the idea of the adventures ahead. he was dressed as a pirate and the boots of the outfit were made of cloth that would fit over his regular shoes. well, the whole way out of the room and into the parking lot he was NOT happy with those boots and kept going, "uuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.......stupid boots!" over and over again. he sounded like randy off "a christmas story" when his mom tells him to eat his dinner because there are starving children in china and he just sort of whines......uuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! me and ray were cracking up at him......we kept having to go around cars in the parking lot so he wouldn't hear us laughing but we couldn't stop! :rotfl: anna ended up taking those boots off and just letting him wear his crocs.

i think once we got to the bus stop luke realized we were on our way to the party and he got happy then. he was excited to ride the bus. this was his first disney bus! last year when they came they stayed off property with a friend, so they hadn't gotten a chance to ride a famous disney bus.

one excited little boy.....

DSC04970.jpg

i was sitting next to him on the bus and i told him to make his best pirate face. this is what i got!

DSC04971.jpg

DSC04972.jpg

then i told ray to make a pirate face and, for some ungodly reason, he did this......

DSC04973.jpg

WHAT THE HECK IS THAT?????? :confused3 :rotfl2:

very happy "kids" on our way to fun.......

DSC04973a.jpg

we finally made it to MK around 5:00 and anna went to pick up the tickets she had ordered for them, then we went through the turnstyles to see this.......

DSC04976.jpg

DSC04977.jpg

under the train station and into magic kingdom we went for our night of fun!

DSC04979.jpg

DSC04979a.jpg

you'll notice gary the snail (from spongebob squarepants) in a lot of these pictures. he was a member of our party that night....luke had to have him the entire time!

one cool kid in this sunglasses! i swear he's the only kid i've ever seen that wears sunglasses for more than a few seconds.

DSC04981.jpg

as we came into the square they were doing the afternoon flag ceremony, so we stopped to watch that for a few minutes.

DSC04982.jpg

as we got to main street anna ran ahead of us so she could film luke's reaction to seeing the castle. once again, the kid is just full of surprises. he's like, hmmmm.....a castle. okay. next? :rotfl:

walking down main street and getting more excited by the minute!

DSC04982c.jpg

DSC04982d.jpg

luke does these moves when he's excited that remind one of elvis. :rotfl2:

DSC04982e.jpg

we decided to go ahead and take care of dinner first. that way we wouldn't have to worry about it once the party "officially" started. so to casey's it was.

continued in next post: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=26952164&postcount=1714

after we ordered, i headed to the condiment area while ray waited for our food. as i turned around and looked towards the entrance i saw a very familiar-looking family coming into the restaurant. IT WAS WINKERS!!!!!!!! :worship: i was so happy to see her.....and completely not expecting it. we had planned to call each other at some point tonight but i never expected to see her without planning it! i ran over to them and gave her a hug. i'm sure when they first saw me they thought, who is this crazy person with pirate mickey ears on running towards us and screaming?????? :scared: we talked for a few minutes and i think her kids were kinda shocked that i knew all their names. it was so nice to finally meet winkers and her entire family. i was supposed to meet up with them last year at epcot and we changed our plans last minute. i felt like i already knew them from reading her TRs. they were all so sweet and i'm glad we got to see each other! :grouphug:

after visiting with them, i found ray and the rest of the group in the indoor seating area (they know my no-ducks policy) and joined them.

yum..........hot dogs!!!

DSC04983.jpg

DSC04983b.jpg

chris accidentally spilled a little boy's drink that was sitting nearby. he went to find the boy's dad, who was sitting around the corner, and when he got there the little boy pointed to chris and said, "he did it!" anna helped the guy clean the mess while chris went to get him another coke. that little boy was MAD that chris had spilled his coke though!

i realized as i was eating that i TOTALLY forgot to meet flat jordan and to introduce winkers to my flat friends. so as we were leaving casey's i found them outside eating and told her we had to get a picture with them. she had forgotten too! great minds think alike.

DSC04984.jpg

the flat people hit it off really well!

i said my goodbyes to winkers and family. :sad1: we had decided to head towards POTC to see what the wait was. the only thing that luke had ridden at MK before was goofy's barnstormers. last year when they came he rode that and then he was done with everything else! so we were hoping this year would be better. since this was a pirate party we figured POTC would be a good ride to start with.

anna took this as we were walking away from casey's and when i saw it later i realized that winkers and family were in the picture!

DSC04985a.jpg

somewhere along the way chris bought luke a lollipop. i love this picture!

DSC04982a.jpg

no wait for POTC.......:thumbsup2

DSC04989.jpg

the little boy in front of luke is looking at that lollipop and thinking........man....i gotta get me one of those!

DSC04990.jpg

on the way to our pirate adventure!

DSC04990a.jpg

luke wasn't too keen on the beginning of the ride where it's sort of dark and spooky with the skeleton pirates. i told chris i'd very discreetly warn him when the dip was coming so he could warn luke and that seemed to work well. once we got to the part where you go by the ship luke was loving it. he really loved seeing all the scenes and the animatronics and looking for captain jack! such a great ride to start the night with!!

after the ride we shopped around the gift shop for awhile.....

DSC04991a.jpg

DSC04991c.jpg

these ears were so appropriate for chris because of the piercings in the goofy ears!

DSC04991.jpg

here's a video anna took. you can hear chris saying something near the end like, "are you having an elvis reincarnated moment?" :lmao:

as we were passing by aladdin's magic carpets we noticed the wait was only 10 minutes so we decided to hop in line. anna was trying to get a cute picture of me and ray in our pirate mickey ears as we were in line but ray decided to be 15 years old again.

ooh u saw Winkers, your so lucky.

Love the castle video. did not phase him in the least. :rotfl2:

bummer!!!!! i missed it by one week. i'm coming up there next weekend to say bye to my sister who is moving to connecticut at the end of the month. :sad1:

she's getting used to it now and he's doing okay. he had to sit in time out for hitting but other than that and a little crying in the morning, it's going well. we went over to their house for dinner tonight and he sang me a song he learned at school about 5 little monkeys sitting in a tree and a crocodile and burping. pretty informative! :rotfl2:

When Ray says something about not going to Disney World, that's when you send in the big gun - the kid!

"Daddy - we go Dizzy Wuuld?"
"Daddy - me see Micka Mou?"

Oh yeah, he'll crack.

We've got about 25-30 people coming around 11:00 to celebrate Little Miss Priss turning two.

Many time have I sung

Five little monkeys
swinging in a tree
Saying Mr. Alligator
can't catch me!

I love the P&P pictures so far. That's one I haven't done yet, so I will really appreciate the pictures from this night. Give 'em all to us. I don't want to miss anything!

Jill is absolutely giddy about going to MNSSHP again soon!
