our non-rushing (sorta) disney anniversary w/ PICS & VIDEO! new TR link - p. 136

Dawn, I read an article and thought you might be interested in part of it:

Underrated coaches, on the other hand? That seems pretty harmless. Here are my top five:

1) Bobby Johnson, Vanderbilt. How can a coach that's gone 20-50 in six seasons be "underrated," you ask? Because record be damned, Vandy is no longer your father's Vandy. The Commodores, for the first time in a quarter-century, are a legitimately competitive SEC team (and this at a time when the conference has never been tougher).

Over the past three years, they've beaten the likes of Tennessee, Georgia and South Carolina while losing heartbreakers to the Vols and Dawgs last year and Florida in '05. And they've come within a couple plays of reaching bowl games in two of those seasons. Hopefully Johnson will get that reward soon to tangibly reflect the impact he's had on that program.

Thanks for the update! Anna needs to teach Luke an Elvis saying to go along with his moves!:rotfl: Too cute. Glad to hear you were able to meet your friend Winkers there. How fun. Can't wait to see what Cap'n Jack has in store for you guys

Great update! Everyone looks like they are having a blast, and you got to meet Winkers and her family!

Those pics of Luke and Ray with the lollipop are too funny!

LOVE the Elvis dance. Those suckers are so much fun! I remember getting one at Disneyland when I was a little girl.:cloud9: So you don't like the hot dog, but DO like the bun? My kids each like a piece of the hotdog... TINK the DOG, lil'l diz the BUN!

Good for you for staying away from the ducks. :thumbsup2

How How How can you leave us with just the bottom half of that!!!! great update, that kid is sooo cute. Not Ray, the other kid. he he:rotfl: :rotfl2: popcorn::

 sorry......you'll have to stay tuned for more! i can't update until i get my camera back from anna - she borrowed it yesterday because she broke hers and they were having a bonfire last night. and i need my camera for an update because i have to take a picture of my updated countdown!

Luke is so adorable! :goodvibes

How exciting to have a random run in with Winkers and family!

Looks like the party was off to a good start. :thumbsup2

i was so excited when i saw winkers and her family! especially because it was so unexpected.

OMGoodness!!! That lollipop is HUGE!

Ray cracks me up...those pics are hilarious!

Looks like you guys have had a wonderful pirate and princess party so far. Can't wait to hear about the rest!

i don't know if he finished that lollipop.....it somehow disappeared sometime that night. i bet anna chucked it!

great update and pics.

ooh u saw Winkers, your so lucky.

Love the castle video. did not phase him in the least. :rotfl2:

i know! he's so funny because you think he's going to react one way and he does the complete opposite. all he's been talking about is the castle and when he saw it he just was so unimpressed!

When Ray says something about not going to Disney World, that's when you send in the big gun - the kid!

"Daddy - we go Dizzy Wuuld?"
"Daddy - me see Micka Mou?"

Oh yeah, he'll crack.

you're totally right. about 3 years ago my best friend from TN came down here for a visit with her 4yo DD, megan. well, megan was climbing all over the couch and melanie (my friend) told her to stop, that she was going to spill her drink. sure enough, she ended up spilling the drink, so melanie sent her to time out in our guest bedroom. well, of course, that was the END OF THE WORLD for her and she just lost it - crying and screaming how she wanted her daddy. we just ignored her (because that's what you do when they do that) and ray heard her from upstairs and comes down and asks, "what's wrong with megan?" i told him she was in trouble and she was in timeout. he just sort of stood there for a minute while she's still crying and then finally walks into the bedroom and starts asking her what's wrong and comforting her. then he says, "sherman's here.....sherman will cheer you up." (sherman's our dog.) i just looked and melanie and shook my head. he just couldn't STAND to hear her cry!!! he's SUCH a softie!

We've got about 25-30 people coming around 11:00 to celebrate Little Miss Priss turning two.

i can't wait to see the rest of your pics. i'm sure it was a blast!

Many time have I sung

Five little monkeys
swinging in a tree
Saying Mr. Alligator
can't catch me!

that's the song he was singing! and then the alligator burped at the end. is that how you sing it too?

I love the P&P pictures so far. That's one I haven't done yet, so I will really appreciate the pictures from this night. Give 'em all to us. I don't want to miss anything!

oh, you will see LOTS of pictures! i plan on showing you guys the entire video of the parade and the fireworks because they were both so amazing. so be patient with me because it might take awhile!

Jill is absolutely giddy about going to MNSSHP again soon!

i hope we get to go! if the weather is nice i think there's a good possibility we will!

Love the update...Dh and I hope to make this party someday!! :goodvibes

I just watched all 3 Pirate movies in the last 2 days..you can't leave me with only half that picture!! ;)

i'm sorry you will be gone during my next update!!!!!!! but i'm excited that you're on your way to disney world RIGHT NOW!!!!! you may already be there. i'm so totally jealous!

Aww so cute! I love Ray's ears over hat look.

i think he loses the ability to think without a baseball hat on!

Fun start to the P&PP. Luke looks like he is really enjoying himself in the Tiki area. I love everyone's pirate ears.

Now I know why Ray looks familiar, I was in Atlanta for the 96' Olympics too! I am sure I saw him at the track event when I saw Michael Johnson and his famous gold shoes!:rotfl: Great family experience, we had such a great time at most of the events we attended. Sorry, Baseball was boring, but it was so inexpensive compared to the other events we attended. I just love the Summer Olympics too!

ray loved going to the olympics in '96 just to see everything. it was such a great thing for him. he still talks about it. he lived in gainesville at the time so he went to a few rowing events because they were held at lake lanier, which is in gainesville.

Dawn, those pics of Luke are adorable! I love the walking toward the castle, but the pirate lollipop is really sweet too. Those Elvis moves are really funny! Living with a 3 yo, you never know what will happen next!

Looks like you met someone really special at the party????

luke is definitely full of surprises! and yes, we did meet someone special, someone VERY special!

Great update!

We were just ahead of you guys at the P&P party... we were there around 4.15

darn it! i can't believe we didn't see each other. the park wasn't that crowded that night - you'd think we would've passed each other at some point!

I love this update-Luke is just the cutest little kid!!!

And this totally cracked me up - you got some really fun pictures of your DH! :thumbsup2

he's such a dork. a cute dork, but a dork!

I thought it was neat meeting you and Ray. We Cherie had a great time with our little mini visit.

In the picture, you can see Cherie, Bailie, Evan, Ethan, and Myself. Hunter's head looks like a bush in the background. if you look carefully, he is looking down at the table. I had to look very hard to find him.

I think if I had a lollipop that size, I would pull off the same face that Ray did. I might have even snuck a lick or two.:woohoo:

it was so nice meeting you guys too! you have such a fun family. yeah, i see hunter but just the top of his head! you know, ray may have snuck in a couple of licks when i wasn't looking......he did seem rather chipper that night. sugar buzz maybe?

Hey....being an only child is NOT bad. I speak from experience. And I think I turned out ok :rotfl:

i agree! i was sort of an only child. i was my mom and dad's only child together. and brooke didn't come along until i was 7, plus i only saw brooke and brett on the weekends. i think it made me MORE eager to share and be nice to other kids because i was wanting the companionship!

I thought we had already had our 1-2-3 kiddo discussion ;)

we probably did.....but we discuss so many things, i forget! my memory is horrible.....i'm getting old!

That is a great movie!

it's my FAVORITE!!!!!

As far as the twins go I've always said if I were going to have more than one it better be multiples :upsidedow . As with any pregnancy if it happened I would just hope I could be as blessed as the 2 couples I'm closest to that have twins. They both had healthy full term pregnancy's and that just doesn't always happen with more than one. And they got a boy and a girl out of it....what more could you ask for :wizard:

if ray and i were to have twins i'd be fine with it. but it's not something i want to happen. i'd be happy with just one and so would he. we babysat yesterday for a friend of mine - her 5yo DD and 2yo DS.......that confirmed that we just want one!

I'm glad you got to see Winkers :goodvibes And that she got to meet me :rotfl2:

me too! you and flat jordan wouldn't stop talking.....we practically had to pull you apart to get you to leave! :rotfl:

I love this pic and the video is hilarious! I wish the tiki's hadn't stopped. I would have liked to see more of that dancing!!

don't worry.....there's more dancing later in the day!

All your P&P pics are great I'm sure I've already told you my faves ;)

thank you!!!!!! 17 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yay:

Great update. I'm looking forward to hearing more about the P&P Party.
Is anyone else nervous that Michael Phelps' 8th gold medal relies on a relay??? I hope no one is having an off night!!!!

thanks! i was nervous about that too, but they pulled it off! :thumbsup2

Luke's so adorable as a pirate and as Elvis. I am looking forward to the rest of the pictures, and report on P&PP night.popcorn::

he's just a funny kid. thanks....stay tuned for more!

Great update! Great movie quote! That's one of my favorites!

Luke is one cool kid!!!

:):thumbsup2

thanks! oh, i love steel magnolias. there's no telling how many times i've seen it. ray loves it too. he doesn't admit it but he does. he loves the scene where drum answers the door and it's ouiser with her dog and he goes, "ouiser, you look like hammered sh*t." and she goes, "drum eatenton, don't you speak to me that way" (or something like that) and he goes, "okay, you look like regular sh*t." :rotfl2:

i gotta get me one of those MASIVE lollypops when i get there

be sure to have a ziploc bag to keep it in because it will take you several days to finish it!

Hi Dawn! :wave2:

I've been MIA for two weeks because I had to go back to work. :sad1: But I guess I shouldn't complain b/c my students seem really great this year. I teach first grade, BTW. Anyway, I have been working 12 hour days - it is always like this in the beginning of the year - and have not been on the Dis in two weeks. The housework is piling up and the magazines are piling up, and the shows on the TIVO are piling up, but I had to check back into the Dis and catch up. Great updates!

welcome back! hope your school year is a great one!

Glad to hear Sherman is okay. One of my parents' dogs, Samson, just recently went on thyroid meds. My parents have the dogs shaved in May due to the GA heat and some of his hair didn't grow back. The vet said it might be his thyroid and so now that he is on the meds, the hair is growing back. Weird huh? He is almost 5 and he is a real big doggie at 105 lbs. It is pretty much all muscle the vet said but I think he is not as toned as he used to be.

i think i need to get eli's thyroid checked. he's so fat! we thought about shaving the dogs during the summer but then decided against it because they mostly stay inside, plus eli would look like a hippo if we shaved him! :rotfl:

Did you hear the PotC music used for one of the floor exercises during the women's all around? I totally teared up when Nastia and Shawn did at the end and during the medal ceremony. Also, I totally screamed last night when watching Phelps race. I was screaming, "GO, GO, GO!!!!" I thought he had come in second also.

yes, i heard the music! pirate: oh, i lost it during the medal ceremony. it was so GOOD! that phelps race was amazing. they showed a straight-up underwater shot of it yesterday and it was sooooooooooo close!

I noticed in the photos of your figurines there were some 3D glasses! Did someone forget to turn those in? LOL

yeah, ray "borrowed" them. i didn't know until we got to the room that night because he didn't tell me.....just slipped them into the bookbag. i asked him what the heck he was gonna do with 3D glasses anyway???

I love Jon and Kate Plus 8 also. I get an email every week letting me know what Disney related shows are on each week and that is where I found out about Jon and Kate Plus 8...b/c of when they went to Disney. I got hooked after watching and now watch every week.

i don't even know what time it comes on but they play it so often that i always seem to catch it at some point during the week!

When I went to MNSSHP a few years ago, there was a Villians show in front of the castle and then the Villians had a meet and greet afterwards. Yes, Malificent was there!!!!!! Not sure if they still do that now though??? This was two years ago.

as far as i know, they still do it! but we will be attending the first MNSSHP of the year so we will have to wait and see if there is anything new or different.

When I have kids, I want two...so I'd prefer twins. I know it would be tough, but I'd just rather have them all at once.

not me! i just want one. but if i do have twins of course i'd be okay with it.

You get passholder mail??????? I have an AP and I don't get anything. They must not have my updated address or something. I tried to figure out who to call to change it and when I called Disney, they said they didn't know either!!!

go to www.disneyworld.com and click on "passholder". i think there's somewhere on there you can register and then you'll start getting the quarterly updates in the mail.

As for the 96 Olympics, I went down a few times and one of those days was the day of the bombing. My then current bf and I were right around where it occurred about half an hour to an hour before it happened. Very scary!

that happened a few hours after i flew in. we were planning on getting up very early the next day to go find tickets to an event, but that didn't happen because everything was shut down for a couple of days.

And lastly, I went to a family reunion today and I think I was near you. The reunion was in Hoschton and we got off 85 in Braselton. I saw a sign that said Jefferson and pointed down a road to the left. Was I close??

you probably got off at exit 126 or 129 and i'm exit 137, so you were literally within 10 miles of me!

My kids were kinda freaked out that someone knew all their names!:rotfl: If they only knew all the things I say about them on the dis!;)

It was so much fun meeting you in person! I felt like I knew everyone with you, but thought it would be weird if I started talking to them as if I knew them. It's kinda like meeting a celebrity. You feel like you know all about them!

oh, you can say anything to anna and she wouldn't think it was weird. she's so super friendly - she would've gotten a kick out of it! and it was soooooo nice meeting you guys! helps with my guilt from last year! :guilty: you have a beautiful family!

Great update and FUN pics! :thumbsup2

Luke is adorable!!! :goodvibes

Great way to start the party by riding POTC! pirate:

That's really cool that you had a "surprise meet" with Winkers and her family! :)

Can't wait for more!!! :yay:

thanks! yeah, i figured POTC would be appropriate for that night! and i was so excited when i saw winkers!!!

I agree, Luke is adorable! I love the Tiki video. I hope I manage to catch my girls doing some cute things like that :) .

Just wanted to let you know that I finished my countdown calendar.....thank you for sharing the idea. We won't be able to start taking mickeys off until the beginning of September though :sad1: .

Here it is....
100_1367.jpg

They didn't have the exact colors that I wanted, but I think it turned out pretty well.

i LOVE your calendar!!! it's so cool! and like erica said, september will be here before you know it!

Great update! Love all the pictures of Pirate Luke. I am so excited to see the Pirate and Princess party pics!

thanks! you will see SO many pictures, so no worries!

WOOOT!

You saw WINKERS?

THEE Winkers??? ;) (Hi Winkers!)

OMGosh! How FUN!

I'm not sure, but I think I know what's coming up next!!!! pirate:

(Um, hurry! :rolleyes1 popcorn:: )

yep, THEE winkers! i know.......how exciting, huh? oh, and what you said about anna and the cheesecake, believe it or not, we wouldn't have to forcefeed it to her! she actually eats things like that.......just not very often. notice the chili she has on her hot dog at casey's?

Dawn, I read an article and thought you might be interested in part of it:

Underrated coaches, on the other hand? That seems pretty harmless. Here are my top five:

1) Bobby Johnson, Vanderbilt. How can a coach that's gone 20-50 in six seasons be "underrated," you ask? Because record be damned, Vandy is no longer your father's Vandy. Thanks for the update! Anna needs to teach Luke an Elvis saying to go along with his moves!:rotfl: Too cute. Glad to hear you were able to meet your friend Winkers there. How fun. Can't wait to see what Cap'n Jack has in store for you guys

i'm a hunka-hunka burnin love!!!!! that's all i keep thinking when i read that!

Great update! Everyone looks like they are having a blast, and you got to meet Winkers and her family!

Those pics of Luke and Ray with the lollipop are too funny!

thanks! we WERE having a blast and it gets better!

:thumbsup2

actually, we didn't share that night and each had our own hot dog. if you look down at the bench, ray's hot dog bun was sitting there. i have no clue why he's holding the hot dog in his hand! :confused3 my hot dog had meat in it but you just couldn't see it! last night anna had a bonfire and we were roasting hot dogs and luke informed her he just wanted a bun and ketchup! ewwwww! :rotfl:

Hi, I have to say you and Ray are the cutest couple. You are so pretty. I found you from MeMom and I just finished your TR. I think it was well worth the many hours it took to read from the begining. You are funny and I laughed alot. You got lucky to have found a DH who isn't afraid to get a little Goofy. I lived in Auburn, Al for about 5yrs while I was married. I wish I only was that close to WDW now. (My ex husband didn't share in my love of Disney, so we never went.) I can't wait for more pics of P&P Party. I want that tink figurine !! :tink: She is my favorite.

I don't know if you watch Big Brother..........but I was just watching it and thought of you. This big guy was freaking out because there were crows on the fence ! I laughed so hard as he squealed and ran into the house!:rotfl2:

thanks for joining in and for the sweet compliments! any friend of memom's is a friend of mine. :goodvibes did you hear they're starting a tink meet and greet at the end of october at MK? i don't know if you have any trips planned but i hope you get to meet her! i'm not sure how long the area will be open for - i would imagine at least for a few months.

I don't know if you watch Big Brother..........but I was just watching it and thought of you. This big guy was freaking out because there were crows on the fence ! I laughed so hard as he squealed and ran into the house!:rotfl2:

i did see that and thought it was soooooo funny! :lmao: i can honestly say i'm not THAT bad. if a bird lands on a fence or on a house nearby, it doesn't bother me. but if it's on the ground nearby i will do exactly what he did and freak out, then make my way indoors. i've only met one other person that was afraid of birds......now i can say i've seen two!

I hope he does!!

That is great :yay: do you remember where that came from?

we probably did.....but we discuss so many things, i forget! my memory is horrible.....i'm getting old!

Don't worry I'm sure we will have more discussions about it :goodvibes

We babysat yesterday for a friend of mine - her 5yo DD and 2yo DS.......that confirmed that we just want one!

:lmao: yea that could do it....also could just be good birth control!

me too! you and flat jordan wouldn't stop talking.....we practically had to pull you apart to get you to leave! :rotfl:

I KNEW we'd be great friends if we ever met!!! :rotfl:

17 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yay:

Woooooooooooo Hoooooooooooooo!!!!

:woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :jumping1: :dance3: :yay: :woohoo: <~~~ 17 little happy peeps jumping!!

I know...I know I need to get a picture of my countdown posted :rolleyes1

OMG, what a awesome update!! Luke is soooo cute!!!!!
I love the 15 year old picture of Ray, it is exactly something that Chad would do!!:lmao:

Loved loved loved the update as usual. I've always wanted to go to the Pirate and Princess party! I couldn't believe there was no wait for POTC on the Pirate party night, go figure! The giant weiners at Casey's were halarious, loved that pic of you and Ray. Loved the giant sucker, boy Luke held onto that for awhile, our kids always get them and they end up breaking, etc. pretty quickly, looks like he got his moneys worth. Glad you got to meet up with Winkers. I hope our trips overlap someday so we can meet up. Now that we are DVCr's you never know : ) Can't wait for more, looks like your huggin' a pirate!
Lesley

sorry this isn't a REAL update. i know you guys are dying to see the rest of the P&P party. i promise i will really update soon! but i had to share these with you all.

first off.....an updated countdown!!!

Picture130-1.jpg

secondly, we received our park tickets the other day for our december trip. the ones i posted awhile back were for MVMCP. these are the actual park tickets. the incredibles one is luke's since it's a child's ticket. and you'll notice there are only 3 others and we have four adults (me, ray, anna & chris). that's because i am taking the 1-day ticket i had to buy to qualify for free dining for my september trip with erica and i'm upgrading it to a 4-day base ticket. i won't need the 1-day on my september trip because i have an AP that expires on 9/22. because of the fact that i don't know what kind of ticket i will get, we haven't "assigned" tickets yet. i'll probably take the tink one though! i'm excited that they're here......:thumbsup2

Picture126-1.jpg

i also wanted to share these pictures with you guys since anna, chris and luke are now a part of my TR. last night they had a bonfire and we roasted wienies and made s'mores. here is luke with his next-door neighbors, evelyn and alex. evelyn and luke are "boyfriend and girlfriend".....so cute! evelyn and alex's parents are friends of ours, too. we actually babysat for them yesterday earlier in the day and i discovered that alex's favorite movie is peter pan....he likes the "crocovile". a boy after my own heart! their dad is a kansas city chiefs fan.....can you tell???

Picture129.jpg

me and anna getting the food ready......

Picture130-2.jpg

time to roast wienies!

Picture139.jpg

Picture145.jpg

the little girl in this picture is shiefra. she was there with her 2 sisters, neala and alysha (their parents are from ireland, hence the irish names). anna was the nanny for their family while she was in college. they also have two brothers that weren't there last night.

Picture149.jpg

yum!!!!

Picture150.jpg

next was the best part.....s'mores!

this is alysha and neala roasting their marshmallows.....

Picture163.jpg

messy but good!

Picture165.jpg

looks like anna enjoys her sweets! :lmao:

Picture168.jpg

as we were standing around eating s'mores, ray and chris were standing behind me talking. well, chris was cutting up wood for the fire and apparently he gave ray the axe and, like boys do, they were messing around i felt the axe go right by my head. i turned around and realized that ray totally didn't realize he was right behind me and he almost had hit me in the head with it! :scared1: after i yelled at him for awhile we reinacted the scene for anna.....

Picture174.jpg

after that john (evelyn and alex's dad) got out his light sabers for the kids to play with. ray has one too, but he keeps his at his office. don't ask me why! :confused3

Picture176.jpg

Picture177.jpg

anna took the kids with their light sabers and walked around the lake that we have in our neighborhood. it looks kinda funny...floating light sabers! you can see the reflection of the water in the second one.

Picture179.jpg

Picture186.jpg

they ended up camping outside but ray and i opted to go home to sleep in our bed with air conditioning!

anyway, we had a good time. i promise an actual update very soon!

after that john (evelyn and alex's dad) got out his light sabers for the kids to play with. ray has one too, but he keeps his at his office. don't ask me why! :confused3

Because you never know when you might have to defend your workplace/galaxy against the Sith? :confused3

Kind of scary about the ax! :scared1:

Other than your near death experience it looks like the bonfire was lots of fun!!!

Looks like you had a great time last night! I love the picture of Anna with the smore!:lmao: If I were her I'd kill you for posting that!:rotfl:

Thank Goodness you didn't get axed in the head!

I miss bonfires...we can't have those here in the desert!

Looks like you guys had a great time...thanks for sharing!

Now how about that P and P Party update? :lmao:

sounds like a fun time.

i have never had a s'mores.
