our non-rushing (sorta) disney anniversary w/ PICS & VIDEO! new TR link - p. 136

I would like to comment on the dress too, she made that. I have seen that fabric in many stores. Oh and the kid on the safari. That was totally unacceptable to me and I am surprised that the CM didn't say something. If that kid ever fell off, you know they would sue. I agree kids should act at a vacation trip just as they would at home, with that said, I'm sure that's how they let them behave.

That lady is wearing my curtains!!!

A couple of years ago, I turned the empty back bedroom into more or less a storage area for some of my school stuff. I also made it a TV/playroom. It's got a couch and a Mickey TV, Brooklynn's party kitchen, books, and toys, and then a few storage bins of school stuff. Since it was just going to be a kid room, I used that material for curtains in there when I happened to run across it one day.

In my personal opinion, it looks better for kid room curtains than it does for a dress. Can we take a poll?

But, every Disney fan has different Disney tastes, and although it might not be what we'd wear, she can't be all bad. She is in Disney World and she's definitely not hiding her Disney love! She's got her fanny pack and her curtain dress, and she's ready for a day in the parks!!!

Part of the fun of the Disney experience is people watching. That was pretty cute and gave us all a smile, I bet. Thanks for sharing!

O.K., to go along with PUNKINS statement about interviews to have children. I knew a man who didn't have children, and he said that people should have to fill out an application and get it approved by him on whether the couple would be allowed to have children. That way he could put a stamp on the application that says "DENIED! You're too ugly and too stupid to have children". Now, don't judge, you all know exactly what I'm talking about.

I totally agree with you on the theory of people having to get a license to procreate ... or at least having to go to classes before popping out babies.

great update!!! Now, I want to comment on the kid. Now, mind you, my daughter gets really excited at times and will jump up or whatnot, but if she was hitting someone or standing up, we make her sit down immediately and if she hit someone I would be apologizing right then. Some parents just don't care at all!! I have been hit in the head, kicked, whatever from behind by kids and there parents don't say a darn thing and it makes me mad to know end because if it were my child, I would make them stop!!!

Great update!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry about the family on the Safari attraction! Perhaps they think cuz they don't speak english, they don't have to follow the rules. I had issues like that on our last trip to WDW. Very frustrating!

Dawn, loved the Disney dress! :goodvibes Looks like the safari was a good one - too bad that little one made it no fun  I have noticed that in some cultures, they don't discipline their children until they go to school, so they really "run amuck" when they are small.....Or maybe they are just plain rude!

Great photos Dawn, especially of all the butts ;) :rotfl:

That would really have annoyed me too about the kids and so dangerous too

I just found your TR and I love it!

I would have been so annoyed with that kid behind me. I probably would have said something though. ;)

well not speaking the language would make it tough. good for the eyes. :thumbsup2 :lmao:
I am surprised the cm did not say anything. when we went on they yelled at a kid for standing. Guess it just depends on who u get.

Does your camera have an action setting.. that is what I set it for and it kind of helps with the blurriness.

the CM had someone riding with him, so he was either training someone or being observed, i would guess. who knows why he didn't say anything!

erica asked me about the action setting on my camera, too. i don't think it does. realize i have a sony cyber shot, not the most high-tech camera! the settings are as follows: program auto, auto adjustment, soft snap, landscape, beach, snow, twilight portrait, twilight, high sensitivity. i don't think any of those are action settings, but i'm not sure. do you know?

I can't believe you remembered that bike.....:thumbsup2

You really saw alot of animals on the safari......ALOT......

That lady who was wearing the Mickey dress........WEAR IT PROUD SISTER.....

it was funny because i actually took that picture before i saw your pic in your TR, so it was a coincidence. if i'd seen your TR first, i would've jumped on and given the asian power sign!

amen, brotha!

Awwwwwww.....Thank you :goodvibes

I DO love giraffes, and that's a great pic of me :upsidedow

you know, almost all of your pictures turned out really good! ;)

That dress is priceless!!!

About the kid on the safari...I would have been silently fuming in my seat the entire time! But when I have kids, I'll probably be the parent who's letting their kids act like that. :lmao:

It's great that Ray got into the pin buying/trading on your trip!

no, you won't......trust me! anyone with common sense wouldn't let their kids act that way.

Great update! I hate parents like that. Keep it coming!

thank you!!! :goodvibes

All I ever get pictures of on the safari is animal butts. :confused3 At least I'm not alone!;)

It's amazing the outfits you see at disney!

i think the animals secretly laugh when they moon the cameras. :rotfl2:

Jumping on this safari...so far great!:thumbsup2

thanks! :thumbsup2

Wow, that dress...

Nice update! :)

it was nice, huh? at least she's passionate about disney, i guess!

Awesome update, you had me laughing out loud with the "she just loves her some Mickey" comment, that ladies dress was a hoot:rotfl: . The girraffe pics were incredible, I've never seen them that close either. What kind of looks were you getting taking those flat pics;) .
I agree about the screaming kid, that's awful. Tim would have said something so glad it wasn't us:goodvibes Can't wait for more, LOVING this!!!!popcorn::
Lesley

i "accidentally" sat back on his hands that were poking me in the back a couple of times......didn't work. is that mean of me?

about the flat pictures, some people would laugh and some people would look at me like i was crazy. but i know i'm never gonna see those people again so i didn't care!

naughty children...you know they are my favorite Dawn!! ;) SuperNanny would have had to step in for that one!!! Glad it didn't take away from your safari though..great pics :goodvibes

as i told lesley above, i "accidentally" sat back on his hands that were poking me in the back a couple of times. he never even noticed though. ray said he would've sat back harder, but i didn't want to hurt the kid! i needed supernanny that day!

the CM had someone with a clip board riding up front with him, so he was either training or being trained or observed or something. i don't know why he didn't say anything either.

about the dress, i knew she was crafty! ;)

that is soooooooooo funny about the dress/curtains! i definitely agree that it's better than curtains than as a dress. but hey, at least she has some spirit! you know she's someone's sweet grandmother and they love her for her mickey craziness! :goodvibes

 very true!

I totally agree with you on the theory of people having to get a license to procreate ... or at least having to go to classes before popping out babies.

believe me.....i see soooooooo many people in my line of work who have kids they can't take care of or raise in a respectable way once and then, lo and behold, they do it like 5 more times. i don't get it. birth control is free, people. i've managed to live 31 years and not get pregnant - it's not that difficult. oh, don't get me started on this. it's one of my hot buttons!

Great update Dawn.

thank you! :)

i totally understand kids getting excited - they're at disney world. sometimes i want to jump up and scream out of excitement too and i know kids sometimes don't know any better because they're kids. but like you said, you'd immediately take action instead of just letting her do it. if he'd have done it once or twice, no big deal. but repeatedly with NO word or apology or even a smile from his parents was just really annoying.

Great update!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry about the family on the Safari attraction! Perhaps they think cuz they don't speak english, they don't have to follow the rules. I had issues like that on our last trip to WDW. Very frustrating!

i have nothing against people who don't speak english, but not speaking english has nothing to do with common sense. they should've known that their kid shouldn't have been standing up and that their other kid shouldn't be hitting people in the head or screaming in someone's ear. hello? it's the same concept as people breaking lines. don't get me wrong here - i have love for all disney-lovers of all nationalities - but how can not knowing the language i speak have ANYTHING to do with you getting behind me in line instead of breaking in front of me and the other 20 people waiting to get a photopass picture taken????? :confused3 (just an example......you got me on another tangent! )

Dawn, loved the Disney dress! :goodvibes Looks like the safari was a good one - too bad that little one made it no fun  I have noticed that in some cultures, they don't discipline their children until they go to school, so they really "run amuck" when they are small.....Or maybe they are just plain rude!

thanks! i was surprised at how many animals we saw that late in the day. i guess the theories about early morning safaries aren't always right! and those people were just rude, i think. i looked at them several times and they never even flinched. i didn't say anything because i know they didn't speak english because when they were loading us they didn't know what the CM was asking them when he asked how many in their party.

Great photos Dawn, especially of all the butts ;) :rotfl:

That would really have annoyed me too about the kids and so dangerous too

i know! you'd think they'd make the kid sit down. i know they didn't speak english but there's still that "no bad dancing" sign on all the rides!

oh, and thanks about the butt shots comment.........i guess! :lmao:

I just found your TR and I love it!

I would have been so annoyed with that kid behind me. I probably would have said something though. ;)

thanks for joining in! i was gonna say something to them but i don't think they spoke english. when the CM was asking how many in their party they didn't know what he was talking about. so i figured it would do no good. a dirty look knows no language boundaries, though!

Very true! :rotfl:

okay....so first came this thing. i can't remember the name of it! last year it was up and walking around, but this time it pretty much snoozed the whole time we were there.

DSC03729.jpg

I think that's a tapir:confused:

now i have to vent. the safari was the first time i got frustrated with my fellow disney guests. there was a family of four sitting behind us, a mom, dad and two boys. the smallest boy was about 2 and he was standing up IN THE SEAT the entire ride. even after the fake bumpy part, they still didn't make him sit down! but that wasn't the worst part. the older boy was probably about 5 and he stood up the entire ride, too, only not on the seat but on the floor and right behind me. he was SCREAMING in my ear the ENTIRE ride! and every time he'd see something he'd hit me in the head from pointing to his mom and keep screaming in my ear. :headache: it was REALLY annoying! believe it or not, i love kids and i'm usually really good with them. but this was just ridiculous. i understand that you're at disney, but is that an excuse to keep hitting the person in front of you in the head and not even say you're sorry? why do people let their kids behave this way? i just don't get it. :confused3

I guess they didn't care if they got eaten by a lion.:confused3

yeah.....that would be sure to leave a good impression on the judge! actually, we have a retired judge that sometimes fills in that wears a royal blue robe. it's a sight.

I report mostly depos - and you know how witnesses dress. Some appropriately. Others, well . . . . I've seen it all. There was a witness who showed up in mickey pj bottoms, fuzzy slippers and all. In my state we had a great atty. whose marquee was mickey mouse. He had LOTS of different mickey ties. But he wore them for reasons other than his love for mickey.

Anywhoo :rolleyes1 back on topic. I'm enjoying your TR. Great pics, too.

i do about half depos and half court. and court's the same as far as the attire. i wonder why people think that showing up in front of a judge and baring mid drift is a good idea????? although as one of our judges says, "if they had any common sense they wouldn't be here in the first place." once in juvenile court a 14-year-old girl showed up in her house shoes. i was like why would her mother let her do that??? but i guess that's why she was in juvenile court.

this has nothing to do with attire, but i have to mention it. the craziest deposition i ever did was a divorce case where the wife had been adopted as a baby, then met her biological parents in her 30's. well, a few years later she was on vacation with her biological father and ended up sleeping with him.  and these weren't your typical jerry springer people, either. they had lots of money and great jobs and kids, a big house, all that stuff. crazy!

i don't know if you've ever seen this. a fellow court reporter sent it to me. i'm not making fun of this lady because i'm sure she's mentally ill, but i don't know if i could have held a straight face during the swearing-in part. and i don't know HOW IN THE WORLD that court reporter transcribed ANY of that!

okay.....so i decided to post some videos of the gorillas. however, i'm lazy and i didn't want to convert the videos from my camcorder to my computer - it takes WAY too long. so what i did was play the video on my TV while recording it on my digital camera, then put it onto my computer from there. it was much easier and took much less time. it looks decent. there's a line from the TV, but it doesn't distort the image or anything. i'll continue to do this and include videos where i can in my updates and that way i'll be able to do more video. i know....it's ghetto, but i'd rather have ghetto video than none at all! and i realize you can see the reflection of the ceiling fan lights in my bedroom on these videos, but next time i promise to turn off that light! ;)

so here's the video of the gorillas that i just love. it's really short - i didn't include all of it because the files are still really big. anyway, enjoy.......

You won't believe this. I hit the back button and lost about 3 paragraphs of my response.

That video is so funny. Everytime I watch it I laugh. It was sent to me with the heading "why I quit court reporting school." There is no way the reporter got any of that down.

 Poor you listening to that disgusting story. Don't you hate always having to keep a straight face and not show any emotion, whether it be outrage, disgust, angst? That's something they don't teach you in school.

I've been a reporter for 22 years - started fresh out of college. I've seen my fair share of wacky people/outrageous stories. Some oh-so embarrassing. One of my favorites was a *ahem* dancer telling us how she couldn't perform her "signature" moves anymore due to a car accident and how she wasn't getting the usual amount of "tips" because of that. You get the picture.

All the attorneys (all male) sure got an eye full when she demonstrated for us. Let's just say her leg was wrapped around one shoulder then over the other. (Thankfully she wasn't wearing a dress)
