our non-rushing (sorta) disney anniversary w/ PICS & VIDEO! new TR link - p. 136

i just wanted to start out this installment by saying that i've updated 3 days in a row now.......i don't want you to get used to it! i have a lull in my typing right now, but our calendar at work is CRAZY for the next two weeks, which means my typing will start piling up. so i'm updating while i can.

so when i last updated we had just finished our awesome, but rather stressful (do to the rude kid behind me and his brilliant parents), safari ride. speaking of kids, ray and i decided upon witnessing our first disney meltdown to keep a count during our trip. i can't begin to tell you of all the meltdowns play by play, but the total meltdowns on the day that we left was 21. not too bad for 6 full days! it was funny - we overheard one guy tell his little boy, "wow, you melted down early today."

anyway, on to the TR. after the safari we decided to head to the 2:00 FOTLK show.

i saw this on the way and snapped a pic. i love how there's grass growing on the roof!

we also stopped on the way over to see some fishies. flat mattica and flat beana loved the fish!

when we got to the theater, there were quite a few people waiting, so we just joined the crowd. they let us in shortly and we ended up pretty far back. i've never been close for this show and therefore my pics never turn out that great. one day i'll get closer!

while we were waiting for the show to start, i called the number on the little card the CM had given us at SSR to see if our room was ready. it was! room number 1123 in congress park!

finally, it started!

we were in the lion section........rawr!

i love the part of the show when they pull kids out of the audience for the little parade. it's always so cute to see the kids' expressions. too bad i wasn't close enough for pictures of strangers' children.

as we were leaving, we passed pumba and were saying goodbye........

......when he noticed our flat companions and wanted a closer look. watch out - don't get inhaled!!!!

we decided to call it a day at AK after riding EE twice. a good way to end our AK time that day, wouldn't you say?

we booked it outta there before the parade started and caught a bus back to SSR around 4:00. no, your eyes do not deceive you - that, my friends, is an EMPTY disney bus!

happy to be away from the crowds.....

flat beana and flat mattica had their own seats on this bus!

we got back to SSR and got off at congress park, then went in search of our room. we found it with no trouble - we were in the building closest to DTD marketplace and on the first floor - very convenient! here's our building.....

our room was just to the left of that arch.

i loved our room! it was so cozy and everything was very clean. MUCH better than the hojo!

ray took this video later in the week, but i'll post it here because it seems appropriate. he was standing on our porch when he took this.



we unpacked and took a power nap, then got ready for our dinner at kona cafe and night at MK!

our flat companions were beat that night and decided to take a nap on their new home, the couch! don't worry.....they will return. they just needed a break that night.

I love EE, too- my friend who is joining me at SSR gets motion sickness, but we're hoping she'll be ok because she can ride BTMR without getting sick. I bought her about a pound of ginger slices at Trader Joes, maybe that will help? She just HAS to ride EE- it's SOOO AWESOME!!

yes, it does seem faster for sure! try it. being in the front is cool because of the view, but the back is definitely more exciting!

when you check in, if you don't get the room you want, offer to wait until another one becomes available. that's what i did and it worked for us!

tell your friend to get some non-drowsy dramamine. i took some last year before i rode mission space (the orange side) and it did the trick!

I use Bonamine..they are chewable and I take them with breakfast and lunch. I have never had a problem at any WDW ride..even Mission Space! They don't make you sleepy either!!

What a cool day at AK, love the meltdown countdown, we always laugh at that too, until it's our kids The flat's are HALARIOUS, what a cute idea. Your EE photo's were awesome. Love how you guys just took your time and were laid back in your touring that day, maybe I need to take some tips from you .
Your room at SSR looks great, gotta love an empty Disney bus. How was transportation to and from there generally?

What great pictures while riding EE. And you are a brave one. I HATE riding in the back of EE. I'll never sit back there again. Came off that ride feeling completely disoriented.

I'm glad you liked SSR. It's a beautiful resort. We usually request the Grandstand section which has a great pool for the kids. In fact, we'll be there tomorrow. Why no dancing banana you say? I guess I'm not the dancing banana type. This is more my style:



BTW, you mentioned all the typing you have to do. What kind of steno machine do you have? Mine is actually paperless. The software does the transcribing for me.

I really enjoy reading your TR. Actually, I'm down to 2 that I subscribe to - yours and Jordan's. You must have heard of Jordan. You know, the hot, sweaty Asian guy, as he likes to call himself. Yours and his are a lot alike. Lots of pics, light reading and very funny.
