I would like to comment on the dress too, she made that. I have seen that fabric in many stores. Oh and the kid on the safari. That was totally unacceptable to me and I am surprised that the CM didn't say something. If that kid ever fell off, you know they would sue. I agree kids should act at a vacation trip just as they would at home, with that said, I'm sure that's how they let them behave.
the CM had someone with a clip board riding up front with him, so he was either training or being trained or observed or something. i don't know why he didn't say anything either.
about the dress, i knew she was crafty!
That lady is wearing my curtains!!!
A couple of years ago, I turned the empty back bedroom into more or less a storage area for some of my school stuff. I also made it a TV/playroom. It's got a couch and a Mickey TV, Brooklynn's party kitchen, books, and toys, and then a few storage bins of school stuff. Since it was just going to be a kid room, I used that material for curtains in there when I happened to run across it one day.
In my personal opinion, it looks better for kid room curtains than it does for a dress. Can we take a poll?
But, every Disney fan has different Disney tastes, and although it might not be what we'd wear, she can't be all bad. She is in Disney World and she's definitely not hiding her Disney love! She's got her fanny pack and her curtain dress, and she's ready for a day in the parks!!!
Part of the fun of the Disney experience is people watching. That was pretty cute and gave us all a smile, I bet. Thanks for sharing!
that is soooooooooo funny about the dress/curtains! i definitely agree that it's better than curtains than as a dress. but hey, at least she has some spirit! you know she's someone's sweet grandmother and they love her for her mickey craziness!
O.K., to go along with PUNKINS statement about interviews to have children. I knew a man who didn't have children, and he said that people should have to fill out an application and get it approved by him on whether the couple would be allowed to have children. That way he could put a stamp on the application that says "DENIED! You're too ugly and too stupid to have children". Now, don't judge, you all know exactly what I'm talking about.

very true!
I totally agree with you on the theory of people having to get a license to procreate ... or at least having to go to classes before popping out babies.
believe me.....i see soooooooo many people in my line of work who have kids they can't take care of or raise in a respectable way once and then, lo and behold, they do it like 5 more times. i don't get it. birth control is free, people. i've managed to live 31 years and not get pregnant - it's not that difficult. oh, don't get me started on this. it's one of my hot buttons!
thank you!
great update!!! Now, I want to comment on the kid. Now, mind you, my daughter gets really excited at times and will jump up or whatnot, but if she was hitting someone or standing up, we make her sit down immediately and if she hit someone I would be apologizing right then. Some parents just don't care at all!! I have been hit in the head, kicked, whatever from behind by kids and there parents don't say a darn thing and it makes me mad to know end because if it were my child, I would make them stop!!!
i totally understand kids getting excited - they're at disney world. sometimes i want to jump up and scream out of excitement too and i know kids sometimes don't know any better because they're kids. but like you said, you'd immediately take action instead of just letting her do it. if he'd have done it once or twice, no big deal. but repeatedly with NO word or apology or even a smile from his parents was just really annoying.
Great update!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry about the family on the Safari attraction! Perhaps they think cuz they don't speak english, they don't have to follow the rules. I had issues like that on our last trip to WDW. Very frustrating!
i have nothing against people who don't speak english, but not speaking english has nothing to do with common sense. they should've known that their kid shouldn't have been standing up and that their other kid shouldn't be hitting people in the head or screaming in someone's ear. hello? it's the same concept as people breaking lines. don't get me wrong here - i have love for all disney-lovers of all nationalities - but how can not knowing the language i speak have ANYTHING to do with you getting behind me in line instead of breaking in front of me and the other 20 people waiting to get a photopass picture taken?????

(just an example......you got me on another tangent!

)
Dawn, loved the Disney dress!

Looks like the safari was a good one - too bad that little one made it no fun

I have noticed that in some cultures, they don't discipline their children until they go to school, so they really "run amuck" when they are small.....Or maybe they are just plain rude!
thanks! i was surprised at how many animals we saw that late in the day. i guess the theories about early morning safaries aren't always right! and those people were just rude, i think. i looked at them several times and they never even flinched. i didn't say anything because i know they didn't speak english because when they were loading us they didn't know what the CM was asking them when he asked how many in their party.
Great photos Dawn, especially of all the butts
That would really have annoyed me too about the kids and so dangerous too
i know! you'd think they'd make the kid sit down. i know they didn't speak english but there's still that "no bad dancing" sign on all the rides!
oh, and thanks about the butt shots comment.........i guess!
I just found your TR and I love it!
I would have been so annoyed with that kid behind me. I probably would have said something though.
thanks for joining in! i was gonna say something to them but i don't think they spoke english. when the CM was asking how many in their party they didn't know what he was talking about. so i figured it would do no good. a dirty look knows no language boundaries, though!
