our non-rushing (sorta) disney anniversary w/ PICS & VIDEO! new TR link - p. 136

so where was i? oh, yes. ray had just consumed 2 guinness, 1 black and tan and a beer flight from the rose and crown. and i had my little welsh dragon. i had a lot of catching up to do!!!! :rotfl:

we left england and headed for france. (wouldn't it be awesome if that were really true????) we did some shopping in france and i noticed the beauty & the beast window......love this!

i have never seen this before and thought it was so cool! i don't know french but i figured out that this says, "the beauty and the beast."

DSC04719.jpg

came across the bistro de paris menu.......i want to eat here someday!

DSC04721.jpg

of course we stopped at the little kiosk in france that has the frozen slushies. this time we split a grey goose lemon one. soooooooo yummy! i wish i had one of these right now. i love this picture because the flowers match my shirt. princess:

we decided to relax in the seating areas we had found earlier in the week while we enjoyed our drink. flat mattica decided they wanted some too!

DSC04723.jpg

(by the way, flat beana also partook in some adult beverages later, but i can't find the picture!!! i don't know what happened - i'm missing a few from this day, i think! sorry, beana!!! :guilty: )

next was morocco. the first thing we did was went to the tangeriene cafe because i wanted some baklava. i LOVE baklava and i attempt to make it at home when i'm feeling domestic. it's really hard to make and takes patience to work with the phyllo dough! we decided on some pistachio baklava that day......it was so good!!!!

DSC04724.jpg

morocco is such a pretty place to just walk around. the tile work here is just gorgeous!

we came out of the shopping area to find some of my favorite characters near the water! aladdin is one of my favorite disney movies!!!

DSC04730.jpg

last year i met the genie, but i haven't met aladdin and princess jasmine yet, so we hopped in line.

this picture is for jordan. the guy in the plaid shorts is one of your peeps. but the main reason i took his picture is because his tie matched his shorts.....he was one stylin peep! :cool2:

DSC04731.jpg

by the way, the little girl wearing pink in the bottom right of that picture was SO CUTE! she was from england and her little accent was just precious!

we encountered some more rude parents while waiting in this line. there was a guy whose wife and kids were a few people behind us in line. he kept walking up beside the line to see what was going on up front. mind you, this line was not bad AT ALL and was moving really quickly. a few people in front of us in line didn't have kids with them (just like yours truly) and he kept complaining about it, saying really loudly, "they don't even have kids!!!!!" um..........so????????????? i was so tempted to say to him, "what IS your problem? i paid more for my ticket than you did for your kids' tickets.....i have just as much of a right to be here! you're in disney world.....waiting in lines comes with the territory. you'd think since you care so much about your kids that you wouldn't mind waiting in a relatively short line for them to have a little fun?!?!!!!" :headache: but i decided that it would probably just embarass his kids, who i felt sorry for anyway. plus i didn't want to make a scene in front of the genie.

a couple of people before us in line, the genie needed a break, so there would be no genie for us (or the jerk behind us! :lmao: ). that's okay - i met him last year!

here i am chatting with my old friends, aladdin and princess jasmine!

he was really nice! he asked me where i was from and when i told him he said that he and jasmine had just been to atlanta, that they've been doing a lot of traveling lately now that they can us the magic carpet! :goodvibes jasmine didn't say much but she was pleasant. in the middle picture above i have my hand behind her back and it was on her hair - it felt really thick and heavy and hot!!!!!

we walked around morocco a little bit more and that's where we saw this rotting orange! :scared: so un-disney! i don't know why, but ray really wanted me to take a picture of it! :confused3

DSC04736.jpg

then we saw this sign and thought it was funny because we love "that '70's show" and fez is our favorite character. i know it has nothing to do with him but it was still funny!

DSC04737.jpg

that's all i have time for tonight. sorry i couldn't make it the rest of the way around world showcase! i promise i will be back as soon as i can with the rest of our adventures in epcot! there is one week left in this month and i'm SWAMPED with work - my pay is monthly so i'm always cramming at the end! but that's good because i do need the money for my upcoming trips! ;) anyway, hope you enjoy this short update....more later!

can you guess where this is from????

The picture in the flowers came out so nicely.

I never knew you could drink slushie through your nose....;)

Great update!!!

The picture of you with the flowers is gorgeous!!!

Morocco is my favorite country -- I can spend hours there -- preferably eating baklava and drinking Sultan Coladas! :lovestruc

I can never understand parents who complain about other adults wanting to meet the characters. Clearly, they are the ones who have forgotten how to embrace their inner child when they are at WDW. :headache: Walt would be so disappointed in their behavior. :sad2:

Cool about meeting Jasmine and Aladdin! One of my favorite pics of all time is from 2004 when my SIL and I posed with Aladdin! We look like a couple of giggling groupies.

Dawn, Dawn Dawn... Your Peep friend was all that and then some with the Burberry Baby Blue Plaid... until you hit his toes. :)

Um, I want some slushies. Do you think we could make them on our own at home? Maybe when you come to MN and visit me? And we go shopping, to the Burberry store at the MOA and then hit the Disney store... ;) Really... wonder where we can get that recipe?

Okay girlfriend! You had had enough to drink... I think you should have stepped over to Mr. Snoopy pants and Hisspered him off. KWIM?:rolleyes1 ;)

Now you go and get your work done. We will be here when you return.

Come check out what I finally started... when your done with your work... Shame, shame, shameless plug...

LY/MI!

oooooooo i so know that next clue is from Norway lol...Next trip you have to eat at Bistro De Paris..i went 2 years ago with my family...soo yummy and gourmet. Ya know Parents are more annoying than kids themselves especially at disney lol.

I love the baklava from Morroco! It's my dh's favorite dessert, ever!

I love that you get your pictures with the characters! I think I get more excited about the characters than my kids do!

Was Brooke down around the 7th? Her pictures look alot like ours:idea: When it wasnt raining it was HOT and so crowded you could move!
DH said Never again will we go down during the summer :lmao:

Great pictures Dawn!! I absolutely love the one of you with your slushie!! The colors of the flowers with your shirt looks beautiful!

Great update Dawn !
WS is one of my favorite places in the world.:goodvibes so glad you guys got to enjoy it this trip. I have to look for that Beauty & the Beast book next trip, I'm going to concentrate on taking pictures of details and that is a great one.

I thought about you guys the other night, first I had my first black & tan, DH drinks them all of the time but I'd never had one, don't know why I waited so long. Then on the way home I noticed a peach tree in soneone's front yard! I thought now that's just freaky.

Dawn - Let me just say I hate when adults think that adults can't take their picture with the characters. I agree with Winkers, I got more excited than the kids the last time we went. They wouldn't even go to the characters, but mommy did and I got their autographs too. I had a similar thing happen to me when I was 27 (a long time ago). It was just me and DH and we were in Epcot and I saw Eeyore walking right in front of me (we were sitting in England listening to the Beatles). I jumped up, yelled to DH to get the camera and I actually was following him to his spot. He totally ignored me. He was waiting for kids and just kept his back to me, I was calling his name and tapping him, nothing. I was so upset that I boycotted characters for a whole day. The next day I was Chip and Dale in MK and took my picture with them and they both rubbed my back and I was :lovestruc again with the characters but no Eeyore.

Back to your TR, sorry for the rant.

Your picture of you in front of the flowers is great, of course that drink looks mighty yummy too. I love the WS, I'm probably never get to go to those places but in Disney I do. All the architecture is great.

great update, slushine looking good, adding that to my list.

another person in disney that needs a good slapping.

that is from the monster in norway that says something like send them back send them back...i know that is not it, but it is something like that.

Great update. I LOVE ALADDIN!! My friends always make fun of me for being so in love with that movie :lmao: I waited on line to meet him and Jasmine in 2005 and holy crap, Aladdin was HOT. He looked like a young Ricky Martin and I loved him :rotfl: OK, I just had to share that story. Great update, the pictures came out awesome!
