Our Land and Sea Vacation 3/21-27 Update 7/5 P.16 The last night

Your fireworks pictures are amazing

Thanks, those are pretty much all moms doing. She took them and she cleaned them up in Lightroom.

great update trike!! great pics again. i didnt see any of you on the wedgie maker???:confused3 the last disney slide i was on was at boardwalk. dd was about 9, we got to the top and she pushed me to go down first. she said if i made it ok, she would make it ok. i looked around for any cameras pointing at the slide and went down. i turn around and shes walking back down the steps. :confused3 conned by a nine year old!:lmao: now she does summit plummit over at blizzard. :scared1: i go on the tours while she does that.:lmao: anyway, great job!!:thumbsup2

Yup mom was relaxing so I didn't have anyone to snap pictures of me as I rode...or at least that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. :lmao:

That was pretty slick for your daughter to con you that way. Was she chuckling slyly to herself as she headed down the stairs? I guess thats another way that disney provides a sort of measuring stick for our children as they grow up. Not only do you see the their taste in characters change, you also get to see their sense of adventure change too.

For me sitting in a chair and doing nothing sits on the punishment spectrum not the relaxing spectrum so I headed to the waterslide with the kids.
:thumbsup2 I'm the same way... If I'm going to sit and relax I prefer to do that in my own living room. If I'm on vacation there's always something I'd rather do or see!

Mom and Bro went first while Sis and I rode TTA.
Are you saying that Sis didn't want to ride SM after her experience on BTMRR??? I'm shocked.

When we got to the front of the line he hugged me and with the look of someone who’s preparing to be executed stepped into his seat. I heard him laughing and woohoo!ing during the ride and when we got off he said it was his favorite ride.
:thumbsup2:woohoo::banana: Congratulations Bro! And good coaching, Dad!

We left the speedway and headed back to the Tomorrowland Terrace for dinner. It was delicious and plentiful. We hadn’t eaten there before, but I’d definitely eat there again. Much better options than the typical counter service.
Wow, it really does open sometimes! :lmao::rotfl2:

I’m sure there is a lot of nostalgia surrounding this parade, and this is probably a pretty controversial opinion, but we like Spectromagic better.
I'll agree with that statement... I haven't seen MSEP since it came back after being replaced by Spectro, so I'll try to look at it a little different and give it a chance, but I remember it from before and I was glad when Spectro replaced it.

Loved the update and the fireworks pictures were absolutely amazing!

Yeah, and even though we'll probably end up picking up the bulk package of physchological counseling at costco(kirkland brand of course) to share with some of the other dads we didn't think it was worth pushing it.

Wow, it really does open sometimes! :lmao::rotfl2:
Yeah I'd never seen it open before this trip. I just figured it was like a secret speakeasy that was always closed unless you knew the magic passphrase.

Well since you agree with me, my opinion has been validated....everyone that disagrees with us is now wrong.:rotfl:

Glad to hear that Space Mountain was a hit and no tears were involved! I can't claim the same the time I took my mom on it though :rotfl:

Your fireworks picture came out amazing!! Every time I try to get pictures of wishes its blurry colors behind a blurry castle!

Yeah, and even though we'll probably end up picking up the bulk package of physchological counseling at costco(kirkland brand of course) to share with some of the other dads we didn't think it was worth pushing it.
Well, you talk Bro into SM and he loved it... you talk Sis into BTMRR and she didn't exactly love it. The main thing you need to focus on is that you're batting .500 here and that's not too shabby.

:thumbsup2 I like the way you think! :lmao::rotfl2:

Mom found a nice chair by the pool to relax and read. She likes to do strange things like that on vacation. For me sitting in a chair and doing nothing sits on the punishment spectrum not the relaxing spectrum so I headed to the waterslide with the kids.
I sit in a chair and do nothing everyday at work. :confused3

It’s important for the kids to brush up on their sliding skills every chance they get because we are counting on waterslide scholarships to help pay for college.
Next NCAA scandal: recruitment violations in competitive watersliding. You going to shop your kids around to he highest bidder, Cam Newton style?

We really need to work on her form. The hands up excited look might be acceptable for some kids, but it really creates too much drag.
Style points are all the rage in the European Watersliding Tournaments.

Bro’s form was better
He needs to arch his back more and get his bathing suit of the slide if he’s going to reach ludicrous speed.
And for heaven's sake, cross those ankles. Last thing you want to be doing while kissing a watersliding trophy is picking your swimsuit out of your nether regions.

The photo-pass photographer took lots of good pics and this one strange one of our family. Strange > good in my book any day.
Maybe next time you can do a Charlie's Angels pose?

Mom took Sis and rode the TTA and I took Bro on Space Mountain. He was still nervous but I took the time in the line to talk to him about ride stats*(specific stats posted at the end of this report) and how this compares to Test Track and BTMRR. When we got to the front of the line he hugged me and with the look of someone who’s preparing to be executed stepped into his seat. I heard him laughing and woohoo!ing during the ride and when we got off he said it was his favorite ride. Finally parental encouragement that doesn't end in tears.
Nice Job Dad! :thumbsup2

Note the leaning tower of desserts, otherwise known as "dad's to do list"
Did you finish your list?

The fireworks pictures are fantastic!:thumbsup2

Agreed. I can only sit still for so long. Especially with a waterslide nearby.

Did he eventually go plaid?

But then TTA Jumped to warp 9 and after that he figured he could ride anything.

Nice. You gotta watch that TTA, it'll sneak up on you.

Awesome! :thumbsup2 Now it's Sis's turn.

Fantastic fireworks pictures! Can I be a total camera geek and ask what camera settings you were using? :teacher:

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: Hey, me too!

Maybe she was just sad the ride was over?

We take lots of "Wishes" pics and every time we get a little bit better, we had a lot of blurry pics too though.

Never thought about it that way I like it.:thumbsup2 Unfortunately my batting average is going to fall in tomorrow's post.

Hey I do too.. who wants vacation to seem like work.:confused3

Next NCAA scandal: recruitment violations in competitive watersliding. You going to shop your kids around to he highest bidder, Cam Newton style?
I certainly hope they're good enough to be scandal worthy. I showed the pic to Sis and she said "Dad, I was holding my hands up like that and then I would go into streamline position (something her swim coach had been working with her on)". So she was actually using the slide time to work on training for competition.

Style points are all the rage in the European Watersliding Tournaments.
Yeah but there's no money in Europe. That's where all the has been American sliders go.

And for heaven's sake, cross those ankles. Last thing you want to be doing while kissing a watersliding trophy is picking your swimsuit out of your nether regions.
Yup. Seem's like Dave could have used that bit o' instruction too.

Maybe next time you can do a Charlie's Angels pose?
you first.

Nice Job Dad! :thumbsup2

Did you finish your list?
Thanks.

Of course. No dessert left un-eaten.

The fireworks pictures are fantastic!:thumbsup2
That's all mom. I'm just the luggage rack/ kid carrier.

Did he eventually go plaid?
Unfortunately no. He barely reached Rediculous Speed. Waterslides don't have seatbelts so its probably good he didn't go any faster.

Nice. You gotta watch that TTA, it'll sneak up on you.
You never expect the TTA.

She was shooting in shutter priority mode with a shutter speed of
1/80, her aperture was f14 and the ISO was set to 2500. That shutter speed was fast enough that we could hand hold the camera and not have it be blurry, but the images were a little on the dark side. Mom brightened them in Lightroom and she may have increased the color saturation too.

Where's the smiley for "that's over my head?" Either way, they look incredible.

Oh is that right? Good to know. I have plenty for you to do. :thumbsup2
Uh oh... busted.:headache:

Hi Mrs. Trike

Where did you get the cool fonts for the Dad, Mom, Bro, Sis shirts...and the last Icon in Mr. Trike's Signiture?

Doh!. I guess its a little too late to go back and edit that post.

No wait I'm actually really busy working. I'm just on the disboards to check and make sure photobucket (one of my customers) is doing okay :rolleyes1

I found them here...

4shared.com/dir/3AZSISyi/Names.html

(She's an awesome DISigner!)

Since the specific words/names I was looking for were not there, I took bits and pieces from various names and photoshopped them myself into what you see on the shirts.

I used the iron-on transfer paper (for DARK fabrics).

I also made similar pillowcases for Sis and Bro (for the cruise) but that's another whole trip report post for another day. :(

Hope that helps!

Hey if you're gonna post about "the tragedy" you have to at least put "Dun dun Dah !" after it so people know there are strange things afoot in the trip report ahead.
