Our Land and Sea Vacation 3/21-27 Update 7/5 P.16 The last night

I really enjoyed your TR! Thanks to you & your wife for sharing your wonderful memories with all of us here. I still haven't completely decided if I would choose the parks over the boat or vice versa. Guess it's good that it'll be a while before we go back to either so that I can make up my mind.
I'm glad the you enjoyed it. You could always try land and sea. I think that's the good thing about deciding between different disney vacations. There is no bad option, just different types of awesome.

Looked fine to me. At least you didn't delete this one, so I guess we have to say it is a lot better than the update that you deleted.:thumbsup2
This one was definitely better.

Good call. Salad is really just a filler so they don't have to give you as much of the good stuff anyway.
Salad and Bread..****y traps of any dining experience.

She fell into their trap. :rotfl2:
I tried to warn her.

Oh, that was enjoying nature? I thought it was just a picture menu, Disney style.:confused3
that would be really awesome.

Not the ideal way to spend the last night, but good recovery! :thumbsup2
It was most definitely not fun and it seemed to just drag on.

But did you remember to have everything wrapped in bacon?:confused3
Dang I new I forgot something. When we left the boat we went to Ihop and I scored a second breakfast with more bacon.

I'm glad you wrote it. You did a good job. I really enjoyed seeing the Land/Sea trip and it really looks like something that I might like to try sometime.
Thanks both writing the TR and going on the trip were a lot of fun.

I am Trike, thanks for a great trip report. Your interactions with Captain Oblivious were like a spice to some great reading.

Ryan,

Great TR. Your insights and especially your final thoughts are helping me with my planning. We are on the Dream in October and we have the 2nd seating, at first I was not happing with that choice, but what you said makes since and I'll let you know how it works out.

Thanks again for the TR and you SoCal trip sounds like it is working out for you, good luck!

Dave

Thanks for a great finish! I always enjoy seeing things through someone else's eyes.

The fiasco with the pillowcases made my blood boil for you. I'm so sorry you had to deal with that.

I agree that three nights is simply too short - which is why our next trip is a 7 night :thumbsup2 We tried to sneak in a 5 night double dip in January, but the prices skyrocketed. We'll slum it at the Boardwalk instead :lmao:

I'm impressed that both the kiddos went snorkling, and that your son did the 5K! I may have to use that as inspiration for mine this next trip - they're a bit like Momma on vacation - just want to relax - but it's always good to do something different!

I think it's interesting, your comparison of vacation dollars at the park v on the cruise. I agree that there's more bang (more days) for the buck at the parks, as there are a million and one ways to economize at the parks, and not so much on the cruise. But, I really see them as two totally different vacations. The parks aren't a vacation, per se, but an adventure - while fun, is exhausting and can leave you needing three days to recover. The cruise, however, is a true vacation - forcing you to slow down, enjoy, and relax. There's a time and place for both - for my family, anyway.

Good luck on your continued planning - DL is on our list for sometime in the next few years. DH and I have been, but never the kids.

Thanks again for the report!

Ryan-
The report was excellent! Thanks for sharing your trip with us. I've got just over 100 days before we sail on the Dream and reading your report only makes me want to go even more. I really enjoy your writing and mom's pictures so I hope you do more TRs in the future!

Thanks for finishing up your TR. I especially appreciated your thoughts on the cruise experience. Almost every year, we consider that as an option instead of going to WDW and we continue to decide our vacation dollars are better spent in the parks. At the end of the day, the things we love about Disney are found in the parks and we can have more for less money.

Still, I imagine at some point we'll give it a try. All you can eat all the time might as well be tatooted on my face. I like food.

I saw that you're planning a December trip to DL. We've been there a few times and both times we were surprised by how much we liked it. The ability to walk back and forth between DL and DCA is unmatched in Florida. Also, depending on where you stay, you can walk to the parks from your hotel, thus you're never waiting on a Monorail, a bus, a boat or a tram.

Hopefully you'll write up a TR about your trip. I'd look forward to reading it.

And FWIW, I also thought that picture looked like a scene from Independence Day.

:moped:

Congrats on a completed TR! :woohoo: This is something that has been alluding me lately. :rolleyes1

I can understand about feeling like a bummer. but I'm glad to hear that as you have some time to digest and remember the trip as a whole you find the silver lining in the cloud. We have been debating whether or not to try a Disney cruise... and your TR has helped us put a few check marks beside questions we had.

Thanks for sharing your vacation with us :goodvibes

Ryan - The DM's on my upcoming cruise meet are talking about doing the 5K and they seem to think there is an entry fee? Is there one and do you receive anything for doing the run?

Thanks - Dave

Dave this reply may be way late but there is no entry fee and you don't get anything.
