Our Land and Sea Vacation 3/21-27 Update 7/5 P.16 The last night

Mom let me use one of her edited pics for the first in that group. Note how much better it is than the normal stuff I am pulling.
Awesome picture! Good job, Mom.:thumbsup2

They’re staring pretty intently for something that’s only 6 inches deep and has nothing in it.
Duh, what else do you do with a wishing well???

After the fountain we rode IaSW. I'm sure you'd all like me to post the video loop from that ride
NO!!!!! :scared1:

but I'll refrain.
:worship: Thank you whew, that one was close

We ... didn't get the magical 999,999. Despite my best efforts I only scored 571,000. Oh well better luck next... what? What did you say mom? You got a perfect score?
Did you make the mistake of telling her about the 100k targets before the ride???

Great update! Sorry you had to go to the minute clinic. Glad it wasn't anything serious. Looking forward to the next update!

Gee, thanks. Here's an animated .gif for how this makes me feel.

smiley_puke.gif
I like your gif too.

It is a very nice shot! :thumbsup2
She does a lot to really clean the images up and change the color saturation, really makes things pop.

Sort of like an empty ice cream bowl. Maybe it's a forlorn-longing-type stare.
Oh where, O where has our dole whip gone?

By "enjoy", do you mean "endure the torture through gritted teeth"? :confused3
I will neither confirm nor deny this.;)

Hey, she looks just like my son did! They can have group therapy.
Woo Hoo! group rates = more money for Disney.

Princess Bride! :woohoo:
Yeah. technically I left out the word "Highness" though

Yeah, it's better if your less-vital organs explode.

Plus kids look awkward while they're waiting for their heads to grow back.

I'm (finally) here! Great TR so far - I can't wait to see the rest!

I'm glad your here. The more the merrier.

Harsh my friend...harsh :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2::lmao:
Yeah, but unfortunately its true. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak

Awesome picture! Good job, Mom.:thumbsup2

Duh, what else do you do with a wishing well???
That is a very good point.

That would be considered cruel and unusual punishment.

Did you make the mistake of telling her about the 100k targets before the ride???
Yeah, but I didn't think she was actually listening to me.:lmao:

I am SO going to research the Buzz ride on YouTube. My DH would just die if I got a perfect score. Heck, he would be mad if I just beat his score! He takes it VERY seriously! :rotfl:

Us guys can be a tad bit competitive so I would really suggest researching it. Once you get the button, you can wear it all week to subtly remind him that you won. Of course you could always look at the video's together and both try and max the score out.

I could watch the videos with him. That would be the nice thing to do. BUT, it would just be so much more fun to destroy his score & make him wonder how I did it! :lmao:

A trip report from the male perspective...I am in!

I like your writing, very funny.

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

You get the point...

I have all the phone booths on speed dial in my Cell so I can call them as people walk by or get into them to pose for a photo. It makes for good fun as people are usually a bit confused at first, but everyone seems to be pretty friendly. (The kids and I also have fun calling them during the year when we aren’t at WDW to wish people a magical day)

That is a great idea, would you mind PM'ing me those numbers?

You smell that? That's the smell of excellence. :thumbsup2

Told my DW and DD that story the other night...DW, not amused, DD... had me tell it 5 more times...classic from the DISDADS.

We headed into the park and walked down main street. Just thinking about that walk has me grinning now.
DSC_1745.jpg

You can't see it but everyone in this picture is smiling

We left the Carousel and it was Pooh time.

After that ride (I don't want to excede my quota of Pooh jokes) we headed to the teacups.

That is the best walk in America. Thanks for that, it made my day. There is just so much about that walk that stirs emotions and the best memories. Knuckles to you for a great TR so far. Bring on more!popcorn:: You got a great looking family and they are lucky to have you as the DISDAD you are! And you can never have enough Pooh jokes.....ever!

Well thanks. I'll have to point this out to mom. I might not have a silly galactic hero button but at least someone thinks I'm funny. I think inside most dads there's an 8 year old waiting to get out. Disney is a great place for that

That is a great idea, would you mind PM'ing me those numbers?
I think I saw you got these off the disdads forum today if not I'll be glad to post em here.

See that's the 8 year old in a dad.

There's people that's tell you the one at Disneyland is better. I've never been there, so I can't comment on theirs. I'd have to agree with you. There are very few places that can evoke emotions across such a broad spectrum of people.

Glad your enjoying the TR.

I did get those #'s, thanks. That is interesting that some would say DL is better then MK? I've been to both and I guess the one thing about DL for me is that Main Street was where it all began for Walt, not sure? I'm going to have to research this now.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I haven't even read past your first paragraph, and I have to say...I'm hooked! I love your writing style and humour...I think I'm going to like this one! :cool1:

I guess that depends on what you mean where it all began. It's modelled after the town in Missouri where he grew up. I am not sure if it was the first part of the park that he planned, but I believe that he originally had plans for a much smaller park that was put on hold because of WW2.

Glad your enjoying it, but it goes downhill from there:rotfl::rotfl:

We missed you by 4 days and I see you have pictures of the topiaries and Tangled tower at Epcot as well.

Yeah I saw the pics of the Lightning McQueen topiary and the tower in your trip report. Its funny to see pics in other trip reports and realize that you were there at about the same time. Do you usually head go to Disney during the Flower and Garden show?

This was our 1st trip during Spring Break. We have always avoided that time because we heard horror stories about how crowded it was. But, we had a great trip and did not have long waits at all. It may be that it is extra crowded around Easter time. Next year, our Spring Break falls during Easter week, so we are going to try Hilton Head then. We also go Fall Break in October.

When we last left off the nice people at minute clinic had declared Bro ear infection free. Obviously this meant he’s invincible so we headed back to the resort to go swimming.

Mom found a nice chair by the pool to relax and read. She likes to do strange things like that on vacation. For me sitting in a chair and doing nothing sits on the punishment spectrum not the relaxing spectrum so I headed to the waterslide with the kids. It’s important for the kids to brush up on their sliding skills every chance they get because we are counting on waterslide scholarships to help pay for college.

Sis went first:
DSCN0073-1.jpg

We really need to work on her form. The hands up excited look might be acceptable for some kids, but it really creates too much drag.

Bro’s form was better
DSCN0071.jpg

He needs to arch his back more and get his bathing suit of the slide if he’s going to reach ludicrous speed.

We practiced on the slide for several hours and their form really improved. I may have practiced a little too.:thumbsup2 Too soon it was time to head back to the room and get ready to go back to MK. Mom snapped this pic before we headed back to the room.

We headed back to the MK. On our way into the park we had our picture taken.
DSC_2007.jpg

The photo-pass photographer took lots of good pics and this one strange one of our family. Strange > good in my book any day.

Mom snapped away as we walked down Main Street.

Our first order of business was Space Mountain. We had grabbed Fast Passes for it on the way out of the park earlier. Mom and Bro went first while Sis and I rode TTA.

DSC_2017-1.jpg

Paging Mr Tom Morrow….

After 2 rides around the TTA Sis and I went to meet Mom and Bro at the exit to Space Mountain. Unfortunately someone became more and more afraid as they walked through the fastpass line and they wound up going out the exit, not riding. Bro usually likes roller coasters, so I was a little concerned. I didn’t want fear to cause him to miss out on something he might like. We rode TTA as a family and I talked with him about it.

DSC_2047.jpg

He was kind of sad when we started on the TTA.

DSC_2058.jpg

But then TTA Jumped to warp 9 and after that he figured he could ride anything.

Mom took Sis and rode the TTA and I took Bro on Space Mountain. He was still nervous but I took the time in the line to talk to him about ride stats*(specific stats posted at the end of this report) and how this compares to Test Track and BTMRR. When we got to the front of the line he hugged me and with the look of someone who’s preparing to be executed stepped into his seat. I heard him laughing and woohoo!ing during the ride and when we got off he said it was his favorite ride. Finally parental encouragement that doesn't end in tears.

Exhilarated by the ride we met up with Mom and Sis. We decided to ride the Speedway. The line was short and soon we were stepping into our cars. Mom got to drive Sis around, which I’m sure was completely magical and unlike what she does every day. Bro decided he would repay me for all the practices he’s been driven to and drove me around. I don’t have any pictures of this ( I think they may have gotten knocked out of our camera, but if you have a hallway you can experience the joy of riding with your kids at home.) Go to the hallway and face one end. Fall into one wall WHAM!, stand up and fall into the other wall WHAM!. Repeat about 100 times all while laughing. Congratulations you’ve just experienced letting a young child drive you on the speedway.

We left the speedway and headed back to the Tomorrowland Terrace for dinner. It was delicious and plentiful. We hadn’t eaten there before, but if I ever see it open again in my lifetime we'll eat there again. Much better options than the typical counter service.
DSC_2074.jpg

Note the leaning tower of desserts, otherwise known as "dad's to do list"

We left the Terrace and took some pics before we headed to find a spot for the Parade.
DSC_2075.jpg

This was the first time we had seen the Main Street Electrical Parade, as we’ve seen Spectromagic every other time we’ve been there.

We found a spot in Liberty Square and settled in to watch the Parade.

DSC_2099.jpg

Hey its pirate Minnie.

DSC_2107.jpg

I’m sure there is a lot of nostalgia surrounding this parade, and this is probably a pretty controversial opinion, but we like Spectromagic better.

After the parade we headed to the Main Street bakery to grab a snack before wishes.
Wishes is our favorite night time experience at any of the parks so we were really excited for the show. We are listening to the soundtrack to it in our kitchen tonight as I type this. Here's a couple of the pics we took that night.

Exhilarated and tired we headed back to our resort. I think it was a sad moment for Mom and I because we knew it would be a while before we get to come back and see Wishes again.

Coming up next. Another Magical Morning at Disney.

* Stats for BTMRR, TT and SM
Thunder Mountain Tallest drop 38 ft top speed 28 MPH
Test Track Top speed 65 MPH
Space Mountain Tallest drop 35 ft top speed 28 MPH
The speeds on Space and Thunder Mountain are both dependant on how hot the grease is on the car wheels. As the day progresses the grease heats up through use and the rides increase in speed. BTMRR speed can increase by almost 8 MPH

great update trike!! great pics again. i didnt see any of you on the wedgie maker???:confused3 the last disney slide i was on was at boardwalk. dd was about 9, we got to the top and she pushed me to go down first. she said if i made it ok, she would make it ok. i looked around for any cameras pointing at the slide and went down. i turn around and shes walking back down the steps. :confused3 conned by a nine year old!:lmao: now she does summit plummit over at blizzard. :scared1: i go on the tours while she does that.:lmao: anyway, great job!!:thumbsup2
