OMG- Zhu Zhu Pets are they the new Cabbage Patch Kids????

Well, I have been looking a few weeks now, as I'm out & about. Based on the tip here, I left right after the kids got on the bus at 8am to hit our nearby Target. Empty shelves but decided to try the Walmart across the street. I was thinking it was time to just buy them off ebay & end the hunt as it gets annoying to keep checking.

I hit the Hamster jackpot!! There were at least 12 of them, I did a double take because I was sure they must have rearranged the toy aisle when I saw spots filled. They had 4 colors so I got one of each color, 2 for my kids & 2 for my niece & nephew. It totally made my morning! So glad the hunt is over, they are getting a house & car/garage to share. That's enough to keep them busy.

DH asked why I didn't get some to sell but just can't bring myself to do that since they are so hard to find. I see those houses lots of times so I'm surprised they are still hard to find. If all the buyers on ebay would stop bidding against each other, they probably wouldn't keep going as high, with all the pages, there seem to be plenty for sale. It's hard to see those sellers with just pages scrolling of hamsters and stuff.

Good luck & hang in there!!!

Went to TRU today and saw they had the Wheel and the car. But no hamsters.

I finally have all that I need, thank goodness! I understand (and approve of) stores limiting the number you can buy, but I wish that if you could prove if you have a certain number of kids, you can buy a certain number of items. I needed four of everything (four kiddies) and that one per customer rule here was KILLING me!:goodvibes

Just wanted to say, hang in there and good luck. Its taken me since the end of august when I think this thread stared to get what I needed. I actually posted that I needed them, and which accessories I wanted on my facebook page and I was shocked how many people would call me from the store to say they found this or that. Made me feel all the love my friends had for my kids!

Anyway, I have four hamsters, four beds and two balls and two cars. That should be plenty to keep my kids busy. So good luck to all you moms out there.....and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

OMG Im in England and was hoping on our trip to the States in December we could get the Go Go pets accessories:worship:
we seem to have no problem getting the Hamsters but cannot find the houses ANYWHERE :headache:

I was just posting they are available and the cost. Some people don't use ebay. Sorry I tried to be helpful and list where I saw them.

Thank you for posting. I was able to get two accessories I wanted from them and the price was about the same everywhere else.

I don't know if this was stated before but what are the age on the box. I am thinking my 2 1/2 year old might just love this hamster things. Has anyone played with one. Tell me what you know. I was at my local walmart last night and they had all the houses and balls, cars... No hamsters though. Just wondering if I should jump on the band wagon and start looking too. Is it something he can play with? Thanks.

We use the Target.com Mobile site on our iPhones, and we just now tried to do the same search on the regular Target website and could not get it to work! So, here is what you can do...

1) Go here:
http://sites.target.com/site/en/spot/mobile.jsp

2) In the Search box type in "zhu" and submit

3) It'll ask you where to search, choose "Your Store"

4) Submit your zip code

5) It'll list stores, choose the one you want to be Yours and click "Set"

6) It'll list results for Your Store

7) Click on Toys, and it'll list the products (Note: they list them as "GoGo" not Zhu Zhu)

8) Click on a product

9) It'll tell you whether it's Available or Out of Stock

10) And then you can click on "Find it at Another Target Store" to check availability elsewhere...put in your zip code and it'll list all the stores in your area.

Try that out.

THANK YOU! Because of this tip, I was able to check out the Traget website to see if there was availability at my local store. SURE ENOUGH-it said AVAILABLE, and I quickly ran to store to make it in time for opening. I was running with three other people to the aisle, and I was able to get two of these cute little things for my daughter. My hunt is finally over.....woohoo!!! Thank you again for the great tip!

I was at ToysRUs this morning an hour before it opened standing in line with a few other men who have been at this for 3 weeks... Needless to say they re-sell the toys, but, that's another story. The manager opened the door and told us there was a limit of 2 items each. Between my husband and myself we got enough items for the kids, plus I had ordered the fun house on walmart.com - so they are set for Christmas.

It was nice and warm here this morning, so the wait to get in the store wasn't a problem - we were in an out in less than 10 minutes and I can relax now.

For the Indy area moms, Meijer on Southport (southside) has 2 activity balls and a slide for $16.99 each.

HTH someone :goodvibes

They are really cute! I think a 2 1/2 year old could play with them though the recommended age is 4 & up. There is a button on the nose that make several noises, as well as one on his back. The other button on the back makes them zoom around. I have bought several of each color, plus the wheel, ball & slide. There are tons of them on eBay, including customized pets. Good luck!

Just a warning to mom's who have to shop with young children in tow! (long)

I was at my local TRU store Friday morning. They had gotten a truck in Thursday night and were expecting a large number of Zhu Zhu items. I got there about 45 minutes early, and within 15 minutes the parking lot was already full. I had already gotten what I need for my DDs, but Nana wanted a few for my niece. She just decided last week to try to get her some of these for Christmas, or I could have already had these since we had a population explosion of hammies about a month ago around here, but now there are none to be found.
Anyway, since she has to go to work so early, she hasn't been able to be at any stores at opening for these, and hasn't had any luck at Wal-Mart. So I gave her some of the ones I had for DD, and told her that I would just run by TRU while I was in town, and pick up the ones I needed. Now I had done the TRU run before when I was finishing up for the DDs, and while slightly mad:ccat:, it wasn't ANYWHERE near as bad a Black Friday, or even some clearance sales I have hit, so I had no problem taking my 3 yr. old DS with me.
BAD IDEA!!!!!!!:scared1:
By the time the store opened, I was 3rd in line, the line went all the way down the building and out into the parking lot. There were 2 elderly ladies, and another lady with a baby near the front. The very first person in line was a lady who brought her teenage son with her. We were all talking before opening and joking that we would wait in the parking lot, and send him in for the hammies.:thumbsup2a I wish that is what I had done.
When the door opened, the boy loudly announced that they hadn't gotten as many as expected, and that they had raised the one per person limit to 4 to try to be fair to those with multiple children. He finished opening the doors, and there was a literal STAMPEDE :scared1:. We raced back to the isle, (if you can call trying to jog, while carrying a 40 pound 3 yr. old, and holding onto him for dear life racing). When I got to the isle, I grabbed 1 hamster, and tried for a second one. I was almost knocked over by a 6 ft. tall grown man. My DS was being squished and started screaming, the baby the other lady had was screaming and the people kept coming and pushing us up against the shelves. I finally screamed out that there were babies up here, and for the grown ups to act like they have some sense! (I may have used some words that are not suitable for a TRU, but I'll never tell. :rolleyes1) I got out of the crowd as quickly as possible, which wasn't very quick. There were about 200 people crammed into one isle.:crowded:
I went to an empty isle and quickly checked DS over to make sure he was truly okay, he wasn't hurt, but was scared to death. I took a new talking Micky doll to make that okay!
If I had been alone, it would have been bad enough, but I was doing everything I could do to protect him. If I had known it was going to be that bad, I would have never submitted him to such danger! Instead of a fight for hammies, it was a fight for survival. Someone could have been really hurt. A toy is not worth my child going to the hospital. I felt like putting my elbow right in the mouth of some of those people. It was beyond crazy, and worse than any Black Friday I have ever been too (I didn't even know that was possible!:confused3) If things are like this now, I hate to see what it's going to be like come Dec. There will be murders over these things.:scared:
I ran across one of the older ladies that I had seen in line, she were okay, but, had a sore foot where someone had stomped it. She had a few items, not sure how she got them, but good for her.
By that time the isle had cleared out and we went back to see if anything was left (Yeah right!!!:rotfl2:).
There were about 4 people left, everyone else was either in line or already gone. They had some doubles of colors they were trying to trade with someone else, about that time the lady with the teenage son that I mentioned earlier (1st in line) came around the corner with a cart with about 10 hammies in it.
He had ran ahead of everyone and grabbed as many as he could and when the crowd caught up, he ran to the back of the store and hung out until the mob left. He and his mom only wanted 4 and was passing the others out to the ones of us who didn't get any or only got one or two. They gave me the one I needed, and a couple of other people that were in the isle got a few more. She said that he had gotten several and they were walking around the store trying to find the ones of us that had bonded in line:grouphug:, and others with small kids that didn't get any hammies. I thought that was soooo sweet of them.:flower3::worship: If he hadn't done that, I would have been on the hunt again next week for the other one I needed.
I will never again be there at opening if I have to have my DS with me. When the new color hammies are released, I will be getting a sitter for those mornings for sure! Also I may need to arrange to borrow some Football pads from someone, just in case!:rotfl2:
Just a heads up that although the hunt has been tough and tiresome, it is now getting dangerous as well!!!!!!:scared1:
Maybe E-bay isn't so bad after all, you can shop from the safety of your home,:surfweb: and the extra that the sellers are making are probably ending up going for hospital bills anyway, if they have to fight like that to get there merchandise now.:crazy2:

If anyone is looking for something specific other than hamsters.....let me know..........I got these for my neices, and long story short is I think I have extra pieces that I will gladly sell you for price paid plus shipping instead of returning them.

Stitch76 - I'm so sorry you had to go through that for a hamster. No grown adult should act like that for a toy.:sad2: I'm 8 months pregnant and still hunting for a friend. The lines around here are starting to get bad and people are starting to get a little agressive, but nothing like what you experienced. I may think twice before going out again.

I'm glad you were able to get a second hamster from that teenage boy. His mom should be proud of him. He did that right thing getting the hamsters fr the people who really deserved them.:thumbsup2

This is just like the Beanie Baby craze from a few years back. People turn into complete and total animals. They are out for blood!!!

Sorry it was crazy Stitch! What a great thing that lady and son did. Good for them! :thumbsup2

and the part that really get me about all this..... who thinks that about 2 weeks after Christmas (IF even that) the kiddos will be like, "What hamsters"? (lol) mine probably will, and yet I still stress about finding her one...... :rolleyes1
