OMG- Zhu Zhu Pets are they the new Cabbage Patch Kids????

RUN!! etoys.com has the hamsters in stock too:cool1:
edited to add: just saw that they are selling the hamster for 19.99 YIKES!!!!

My dh found out that our Target had 16 hamsters put out this morning. He went to the aisle and a lady was just putting the last of them in her cart-she bought ALL 16 of them!!! Another store had 16 but they were gone before we could get there.

See with something like that I'd honestly take at least 1 from her cart, I know DH would take one of each kind of hamster for sure. They aren't hers until she pays for them and if they aren't going to limit then an unpaid for item is simply fair game.

Whoa! Really? If somebody took stuff out of my cart, it would get ugly. Not defending her but yeah, they are hers if she put them in her cart. If you have a problem you should go gt a manager not put yourself at risk for a big debacle.

Oh I wasnt asking him to do anything dishonest. Just buy it when it was stocked since he would obviously know when that was. And I told his wife that while I would love 2 I would be happy with one. So I am not being greedy :)

Oops, oh my goodness, I wasn't suggesting that you were. Sorry if it sounded that way. My dh is an exec for Target and I know they have very strict rules about that stuff for the regular employees and even stricter rules for the salaried ones. (The higher my dh goes in the organization the less chance I have of getting stuff. lol) It doesn't have to be illegal to be considered against policy.

We've already gotten requests for these and pretty much told people we coudn't help. So glad my kids are teens now. I had to go through this a few times. (Furbies anyone?)

Anyway, good luck, I hope it works out and your little ones are happy. :cheer2:

So, after work today I drove by a TRU and decided to look for Zhuzhu stuff since this thread was fresh in my head. They had them in stock, hamsters and accessories. They had a limit of four items per person. I ended up getting the funhouse, the slide, the car and garage, and the wheel. Ended up costing $77! Hadn't planned to spend that much but I thought I'd grab them while I had the chance. So if you are near Escondido, CA, TRU on Valley had them as of 7pm this pm.

You don't know me at all nor how I'd handle such an encounter. And if anyone wanted to get 'ugly' with me, then good luck w/ that!

I simply stated the truth. If I saw someone doing that then I'd take one. It's the truth and they'd have no leg to stand on here. People are sick and tired of these resellers and it's not even into the holiday shopping season yet.

Hamster success!! Another Target near us showed inventory this morning so my dh went there. They had 16 (that seems to be THE number around here) and he bought the 4 we wanted. :) No one else was there to buy them, the toy department was empty.

For those who want to try to get them at Target, you need to go to Target.com and do a search for them in stores near you in the morning before opening. And then go there right when the store opens. What happens is when Target gets them off of the truck, they scan them right away and that's when they show up in the system. And then at some point after that (usually before the store opens) they put them out on the floor.

We are done, good luck all!

Went to TRU today, they had several funhouses, but thats it. I asked them about shipments, and they said they arent even told anymore because last time someone got word of it, and a guy pulled up in a semi, hooked the trailer up with the Zhu zhus in it and took off!!:scared1:

yes- its disgusting that someone would take all 16 of them.

That said, if anyone attempted to remove something from my cart, it would be Game On!!

When you do that on target.com, what exactly are you checking inventory on, the only hamsters they have listed is the 3 pack and it doesn't give you the option to check availability.
Thanks

We use the Target.com Mobile site on our iPhones, and we just now tried to do the same search on the regular Target website and could not get it to work! So, here is what you can do...

1) Go here:
http://sites.target.com/site/en/spot/mobile.jsp

2) In the Search box type in "zhu" and submit

3) It'll ask you where to search, choose "Your Store"

4) Submit your zip code

5) It'll list stores, choose the one you want to be Yours and click "Set"

6) It'll list results for Your Store

7) Click on Toys, and it'll list the products (Note: they list them as "GoGo" not Zhu Zhu)

8) Click on a product

9) It'll tell you whether it's Available or Out of Stock

10) And then you can click on "Find it at Another Target Store" to check availability elsewhere...put in your zip code and it'll list all the stores in your area.

Try that out.

A friend and I have both been looking for zhu zhu for the last month. I saw one and only one at walmart one time and that was before my daughter took and interest.

I was able to get a slide attatchment and ball attatchment today. Those are the first pieces I have been able to get. I got them at TRU. I was only able to get 2 pieces because my sister was with me and we both got a ticket. They will only let you buy one piece. It is ridiculous. They were out of funhouses by the time we got up there but I was happy to get anything. Now I have to hunt for hamsters and all the other parts. I think I am going to head to Target. It seems like they get more in.

How early do you have to get in line before the store opens?

This is getting to be ridiculous. I tried 2 stores in the pouring rain today without any success. A clerk at Walmart said a retired man comes in each and every day looking for them. He buys whatever items we have. No wonder the aisle is always empty-this is probably some EBAY Seller........UGHH. I asled the clerk why they won't start limiting the number you can buy. She didn't have an answer-only that they wouldn't be wasting their time doing that.

Basically, I am out of luck in my area if this guy is making his rounds each morning. It makes me sick.

I only need 1 hamster.........why do people have to buy them all up so NOBODY can get them??

I've had such fun searching for these. It's been kind of like a scavenger hunt! But I'm sure it is not fun to those who have had no luck. ;) I've been lucky enough to find a funhouse at Target yesterday and a wheel at Walmart. This morning at a different Target I happened to find them stocking toys and the guy found a box of 8 hamsters in his pile of boxes!! I took 4 and the other 4 were snapped up by a lady right behind me. It was exciting, kind of like shopping at 4 am on Black Friday! :lmao:

I agree that someone needs to limit quanity at retailers on these or the only place to get them will be ebay. I was at a walmart today getting my oil changed and I was shopping and found about 10 houses on the shelf and 2 carriers and 2 beds. I bought another carrier and bed for DD's set and got 1 house for my neighbor as she just started looking for her DD. I was walking out of the toy aisle and some lady just stared at me and my cart then took off flying. So I went back over to the aisle and she had all the other houses ( about 9) in her cart. Something tells me they were not all for her personal use. I feel for every good intentioned gift giver that has not been able to find theirs yet, it looks like it will get harder and harder.
