OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

I definitely agree about planning--it's how I live my life, believe me! My husband is much less into it, but after our trip 7 years ago, he probably won't argue too much. We had a great time and things went very smoothly (for a vacation, lol!). I did just let him know a few minutes ago that we will be sitting down this weekend and going over dining options as a family, and he just nodded (probably rolled his eyes when my back was turned, but as long as he keeps his mouth shut, I don't care!).

I am totally doing the colored cards on the wall. Thank you, Kelleigh! I may even leave them up for the next 6 months!! :rotfl:

Sent an email to YC IPO today and got a very quick and friendly reply back. Tomorrow I plan to call them with my CC# to get the ball rolling for any ADRs that require a hold. Wow, I forgot how fun the 180 mark can be!!! :cool1:

And by the way, thank you to Dee for this awesome thread, where it was SO easy to find the IPO email address in about 10 seconds. :goodvibes

Thanks all!!

Just thought I'd poke my head in to say WE'RE HERE!! We checked in yesterday and have been having a GREAT time! We were at Epcot today, and tomorrow the kids are going on a (surprise!) Albatross Treasure Cruise followed by a Kitchen Sink! :)

Although this is our second night at BC, it's the sixth night of our trip, and I am tie-errrrred!! Anyway, just thought I'd stop by the new thread while I had a moment of good wifi connection. ;)

Glad you are having a good time ... otherwise you wouldn't be so tired, right?!

Hope the kids enjoy the cruise. Ours did it several years ago when only offered at GF and it was a lot of fun for them.

Enjoy the rest of your stay. Can't wait to get there myself.

Also, since we don't usually stay on site I'm not up to speed with the EMH. Do they still issue wristbands or do you have to show your key card at each ride? If so, should I plan on packing lanyards (I have DCL ones) for ease?

TIA

No wristbands. Just show you card.

We have never used lanyards because I have always been 'The Senior Holder of All Things Ticketed'. (Part of my Disney control obsession!) But not a bad idea.

About how long is the walk from the Beach Club to the Italy pavilion and to the Land pavilion? Regular walking not power walking.

Just trying to get some ideas as I'm trying to finalize our schedule in preparation for making ADR's.

I would give yourself a half hour to amble to Italy and 45 to amble to the Land, since someone in your party will want to stop and look!

Hello fellow BC/YC dis'ers,
We're 19 days out to our stay at BC. Arriving on my DS 13th birthday and plan on spending a lot of time at SAB :thumbsup2

I originally booked using the summer special but then in my files I found a postcard I had put aside, never thinking we'd be taking this vacation AND staying on property (we own timeshare off site). Would it be worth it to call and ask if there would be a savings with the post card PIN?

I agree - worth the call! MickeyT is right - you show your card for the rides. When DD and I went, they said that we only had to show one of our cards and let us in. I think lanyards would be convenient for that! I started as card keeper, but then the kids started carrying their cards (KTTW, gift card, arcade card) in the hard shelled plastic carriers that they slung around their necks. Made it easier for sure!

Have a great time!! We planned on a kitchen sink but it didn't happen. More to do next time, I say! :). You haven't found the wifi to be reliable? I was quite pleased with it during our stay. Too bad! I know us Dissers want good wifi!! :rotfl:

You're welcome! Happy to help. Our cards went up sometime in March or early April and our trip isn't until October. So they'll be up for at least 6 months. I do have our confirmation #'s and times on them now, so I'll probably take them down to bring with us. And then if we do decide on another trip for next year, I'll make new ones when we get back. LOL

Just got back from a 5 day stay at the Beach Club concierge level and loved, loved loved it! We were given a lagoon view (I booked garden) which was so amazing - I loved seeing the boardwalk and SAB at night. Everyone there was so extremely nice and everything was so clean. This was our first trip, and was totally out of our price range, but I will definitely save up and go again one day. What is the best method to provide feedback to the hotel?

Here is the first pic I snapped from my phone as soon as we walked in the room:

I noticed that someone else here was at MK on Tuesday too, on the crazy rainy day. I thought it would never stop! We ended up going to Sanaa for lunch and then my son and I headed back to the hotel and my daughter and husband went back to MK.

Also, every time I walked to or from HS (which was 8 times, 2 trips on 2 different days) I thought there must be a way to cut through but I didn't know where. I read the description and looked at maps but I still don't see it?? I guess I have time to figure it out. ;)

I'll be at the BC lobby on Sunday and Monday. I start at 9:30 and leave at 5:45. I look forward to seeing you again!

Oh bummer, we were there both those days and I didn't see you. I was looking, but we did zip though pretty quickly!

Whoa, love your view!!! :)

DH and I went over the actual hard costs of the trip last night, and I thought that he would freak, but he was cool about it! He actually said it was a lot of fun, and worth it. I asked him if I had converted him, and he said, and I quote, "a bit". :lmao: So, it's looking good for 2014!! :cool1:

kirbybruno! What a fabulous view! Thanks for posting your pic!:thumbsup2

What an upgrade! Lucky you!:goodvibes

I think I can help with this! After several frustrating attempts I know the cut through. It is easier to find going from HS to the BC. Once you have done it that way it is easy to find BC to HS. Coming back from HS you will see the BWI on your right. The key is to walk up to the Clown Pool (main pool), which you can see if you really look. Walk through the pool towards resort building. You never go into the BWI, rather walk through a passageway and you will end up in from of the resort entrance. Once you find the Clown pool, it is easy and there is always someone who can point you to the entrance once you are at the pool. It is sooo much shorter!

We have a long hot summer to get through then we are off the the BC, so excited!

:wave2: Hi Lulu'smom.

Teena,

When will you be back at BC after your trip with Jeanne?

Ryan

July 8th and 9th unless they finally make my switch to Saturdays and Sundays ... if they do switch, I'll be there July 7th and 8th.

Take the boat, beats the wear and tear on the little one who won't be in a stroller and doesn't really take any more time than walking if the boat is close by the dock.

We'll definitely take the boat if they're running, but the problem is that it's SWW and HS officially opens at 8:00, but all the reports show that they've been actually opening around 7:30ish -- I'm unsure the boats will be running to get us there before 7:30 (although, Cinderumbrella and I have been trying to find out on the SWW thread on the Theme Parks/Attractions board, but to no avail) -- so, we'll probably just drive over (we'll have our car).

As Katesdad mentioned, I post the info when I get it.

I usually check the Build a Better Mousetrip website for the movie listing, it is usually up the first couple of days of the month. If it is available before Monday morning, I'll post it here.

I currently have to rely on others to provide the activities schedule to me for the month. Which reminds me...

Has anyone who is staying club level in June at either BC or YC received a June activities schedule (or requested one) from IPO. If you have one, could you email it to BeachClubDee@yahoo.com

Many thanks!

Thanks, Dee! I looked on that website and they said they'd have June's movie listing posted on 6/5. Hopefully, someone will email you the activities schedule soon. If not, we'll find out when we get there -- 6 more days!

Happy Friday to all. :goodvibes

Just back from kiddo's preschool 'graduation'; in the blink of an eye, it'll be high school. :sad1::eek:

Kirbybruno, lovin' that picture! :thumbsup2 Thanks for posting it.
