OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

Kirbybruno--sweet view!! Made me long for December just a bit more. :)

Okay, Disney Trip Planning spreadsheet is started. (I'm a big spreadsheet girl.) Having fun sorting and resorting my choices. This is my first-time getting Park Hoppers, and I love the flexibility it offers!

So far, Via Napoli and Boma are on my list, as well as Le Celier for lunch. Gosh, I'm hungry all of a sudden...

edited to add...holy carp, I just realized I missed a whole page of the thread that had even more great suggestions! :rotfl: I'm in trouble now!! ;)

thank you. I'm currently on a bus heading home from a field trip to Boston's freedom trail but can't wait to check my email when I get home. :)

Had I known you were in the neighborhood, I could have gone looking for you on my lunch break.

Is it too early to pack?:rotfl:

Don't feel bad, I packed my daughters 2 weeks ago. I am only half-packed (not to be confused with half-baked):rotfl:!!! My husband and son are on their own as far as packing goes.

Just checked in this morning after 7 nights at POR. So far, I am very impressed! I love the size of our room, and feel so much less cramped than I did at POR...dare I say we might be converts now! Aside from the rain (today was planned as a resort day...bummer because we wanted to swim!) It is quite lovely. Everyone is so nice and helpful here.

So glad you like it so far. Keep us posted.

Woo hoo today I got to pick our seats on the flight. :cool1:

Then, the world fell apart again, and the MIL 2B who had a fall at the start of the week and had a hip replacement as a result, was recovering nicely and been moved to another hospital for rehab, has now been rushed back to the main hospital with a collapsed lung

Dang!!!

We had lunch at Christopher Columbus park around noon. Gorgeous day in the city!

Unlike the Disney trip with 140 teens, this was a visit to the city with 160 pre-teens.

Anyone envying my days?

So sorry for the set back. I'll keep you guys in my thoughts.

I think I can help with this! After several frustrating attempts I know the cut through. It is easier to find going from HS to the BC. Once you have done it that way it is easy to find BC to HS. Coming back from HS you will see the BWI on your right. The key is to walk up to the Clown Pool (main pool), which you can see if you really look. Walk through the pool towards resort building. You never go into the BWI, rather walk through a passageway and you will end up in from of the resort entrance. Once you find the Clown pool, it is easy and there is always someone who can point you to the entrance once you are at the pool. It is sooo much shorter!

We have a long hot summer to get through then we are off the the BC, so excited!

:wave2: Hi Lulu'smom.

I did see that pool, so this makes total sense!! I guess I have to go back now to practice. ;)

Thanks!!

Thanks everyone! I can't wait to see what I have on my camera, I haven't had a chance to look yet. I do know I didn't get any pictures at night and I could kick myself, the boardwalk is so vibrant at night and SAB is so pretty. I really feel so lucky to have been able to stay there!

I have a copy of the June Activities schedule for the Yacht & Beach Club. I'll post that tomorrow morning, dashing out to flag football practice soon.

Wow! Finally caught up. 10 pages in a little over 2 days.

I am still trying to decide if I'm going to try one (or more) of those rides that I always avoid...RnR, TOT, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain...I probably won't decide that until we get there. Hubby always rides them, but I never have. He hasn't done EE yet though, so maybe we'll both do that as a "something new".
Some of my favorite rides here. I would try Big Thunder Mountain first, then Space Mountain. If you are still feeling OK, then try TOT (my favorite ride!). I haven't tried RnR yet, but that's because I have little ones and can't drag them on it. Good luck!

It's my first stay at the BC, but I have done online check-in before and gotten my requests -- however, that was with arriving earlier -- still undecided on what I should do.
We did the online check-in because our arrival was later in the day. In our case, I think it helped "secure" our room.
We'll be celebrating 8 years...and I'm the best thing that ever happened to my husband. :rotfl:
:rotfl2:
Hmmmm... I'm not sure if this is better (or even allowed) but how about taking the boat? If there is not too much luggage, and it is not a terribly crowded time of day, I don't think there would be any objections.
I thought I read somewhere where you couldn't take luggage on in-park transportation (monorail, bus boat)?

I'm close to my 180 day mark! (Next Monday, I do believe) And I'm completely overwhelmed at dining choices. It has been almost 7 years since we've been to Disney, and that was our first time, so my knowledge of restaurants is pretty limited. Since I know I should make my ADRs on Monday, and I want to send them to IPO to let them do the hard part, I need to figure them out!

I'm looking for ideas...the "tried and true" restaurants that everyone loves. My boys are 6 and 10 and I suspect one character meal will do us. (Sadly, no princess meal for me, since I'm the only girl in the party. :sad1: ) We like to eat late as a general rule (8 or 9pm is not unheard of for us), and I suspect having the ability to snack on the conceirge offerings will help tide us over.

If anyone has any "must try" options that they love, I'd love to hear them! Thank you!

PS: We also have the dining plan in addition to CL, for what it's worth.

If you are looking for good character meals, I think either the Cape May breakfast or Garden Grill dinner are good choices. I personally like that the Garden Grill dinner is served family style, so parents can sit and relax while the characters come to you. No jumping up to go to the buffet. Mickey, Pluto and Chip and Dale are there.

Coral Reef is also a good one with kids. They can watch the fish while they eat. The server also gives them a card with different types of fish to look for in the tank.

For dinner, our family loves Cape May Cafe buffet. Another good location is Le Cellier for lunch (dinner is 2 credits/lunch 1).

Good luck with your ADRs.

Thanks everyone!!! We may have to watch a little of Cars 2 on our way home from SWW...

I know I'm still months away, but looking at the movie schedule, I'm thinking "how am I going to fit everything in."

Food & Wine, MNSSHP and then movie nights, DTD, JellyRolls...so much to do, so little time. Perhaps we should forego sleep. It's not really that important, is it?

You can sleep when you get back home. Lol! :thumbsup2

I wouldn't worry about the movie, but do try to stop in once for a few minutes to the campfire! That is SO much fun!
