Official thread for Sept. 21 Wonder!

The only excursion we are planning on doing is Atlantis. We are going to plan everything else by ear. We feel the same way in that we want some down time. I don't want to feel obligated to go from place to place. Our lives are so hectic as it is we want some time to enjoy each other as a family and enjoy the boat as well. But....that's not for everyone. As others have said it is really want you looking for in this vacation. Regardless of what we do and don't do I think we are all going to have the time of our life! I just cannot wait, it is all I can think about right now!

Cathy

Thanks for everyone's advice! I really appreciate it! :D
I talked to DH last night and asked him whether he wanted to cancel an excursion or just leave it as what we have. Well actually..what I really did was ask him was if he wanted to wake up early every morning for excursions...or whether he would want to sleep in one day. I think that made it a lot easier for him to decide. ;) So, we both decided that we will cancel the Freeport kayaking excursion (since that is actually a whole day thingy) and keep the snorkeling in Nassau and parasailing in CC. I asked him whether he would regret not doing the Freeport one..and he was like..nope...I don't think so...there's still so much to explore on the ship! :teeth: Anyway, I'm happy now cuz I don't have to worry about waking up early every morning..and I'll get to sleep in and just walk around and relax.

:Pinkbounc Oh my oh my..is it really only 2 more weeks?!!!! :Pinkbounc

OK, I'm getting very nervous now! I have a real concern that I am going to get sick on the ship! :( I have never been seasick before and have cruised a few times. But, the last 2 weeks have been really...."uncomfortable" for me morning sickness-wise. My 1st pregnancy I was sick for about 1-2 days and that was it. This time I'm feeling yucky 23 hours out of 24! We still have 2 weeks so I'm really hoping it will get better. :(

This is the first time I'm glad it's only a 4 night instead of 7 LOL

Oh no Stimpy...I hope you'll start feeling a lot better. Try not worring about getting sick on the cruise...hope that will help. Dunno if anxiety may cause you to get nervous and feel more uncomfortable. But I do hope you start feeling better.

Hey stimp,

Sorry you are not feeling well. :(

But on the bright side:

1) You will have a new addition to the family
2) If you are going to have morning sickness anywhere, DCL is the place to have it.
3) If you are sick, they have great Disney movies in the staterooms that are fun to watch.
4) Room service. No need to cook when you are not feeling well.
5) You have some friends from this site who will be happy to help you out should you need any.

Don't be afraid to ask for some TLC from us. If there is anything we can do, just let us know.:D

Ohhhh Nooo, Stimpy!

I will be hoping and praying that you will begin to feel better for the cruise. Is there any pattern to morning-sickness? Have I heard that it will occur early in the pregnancy and then subside??? I hope so!!!!! (This is what has happened with a neighbor of mine who is pregnant.... she too has been trying to keep up with her 4 year old and her job! Thank goodness she is feeling better now.)

Okay everyone! {{{{{{ GROUP HUG }}}}}} and lots of Pixiedust for Stimpy!!!!

Stimpy, hope you feel better soon. I had 24 hour morning sickness during my pregnancy as well. It's awful. Some things that people suggested to me were:

wristbands
ginger cookies
saltines
chamomile tea

What worked best for me was eating. :) There will certainly be plenty of that available on the ship. Also, have you noticed how much better everything tastes during pregnancy? Yum, memorable meals and guilt-free because you're eating for two.
Think positive. BTW, I was also told that the nausea was a good sign that the baby was healthy and would probably be a boy. Turned out I did have a boy. Do you know what you're having?

Thanks guys! I knew I could get some sympathy here LOL Since this is my 2nd pregnancy, DH is just not as "attentive" as he was the first time. Plus, the 1st one wasn't this bad, I think he's thinking I'm making it all up this time. You have no idea how much I wish he could go through this right now :teeth:

We'll have our first "test" on Wednesday when we leave for DSis's wedding in Delaware......4+ hours in the car! DH hates to stop too

Hey Stimpy...

If your DH hates to stop, then just remind him that there are THREE other people in the car, and he is now officially outvoted!!! :teeth:

Yay, I passed my exam this morning! Now I can spend all of my free time thinking about and planning for the cruise!

Wow, it is less than two weeks away now! :Pinkbounc

Congratulations Jott3!!!!! Now you'll really have something to celebrate on the cruise!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

GREAT news Jott3!!!

I can't believe that we will be heading out for FL a week from Friday!!! :Pinkbounc

Okay, I am gonna go update our Header page on this thread to officially invite everyone to stop by and say hello on Deck10, on the side overlooking the Terminal (Starboard), before the sailaway party begins! Just look for the bouquet of Mickey/Disney mylar balloons! There will be one for all of the kids! :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsboy:

Bring on those sailaway drinks!!! :teeth:

Thanks, everybody! I forgot to mention this before, but the bonuses I earned for passing the classes (12 total) are what paid for my cruise! That was a big part of my incentive to study. :D

Good question!

The Passporter says that the clearance is 9" (23cm). However, the way the beds are made, there is additional clearance inside, if you lift the bed in order to slide the luggage underneath the frame or whatever it is called....

I am hoping that there is a couple inches of additional clearance underneath the bed, 'cause the luggage we borrowed from our inlaws is close to 11" thick.

It is the hard luggage where the top and bottom are equal in width, and opens out all the way flat.... So, if all else fails, maybe we can slide them under the bed in the fully open position. We can nest them together this way, one on top of the other, and this should work. ( I hope! )

Boy, I sure hope this Hurricane doesn't decide to take a turn for the North!!!!!

You can also ask your room host or hostess to place your luggage in storage, Jen. When I went before we had a big suitcase and either one or two smaller carry-on bags. They all fit in the bottom of our closet and we still had plenty of room for everything else.

Wishing, I have been keeping an eye on the hurricaine, too. I hope it doesn't cause any problems.

I am keeping a close eye on the hurricane as well. I hope it stays away and I hope the hurricanes will stay away from our cruise as well. I am looking forward to Castaway Cay and I would be so disappointed if that was cancelled. I know we will have a blast either way though. We are also going to Disney before and after so I am hoping for nice weather.
Has anyone else started packing yet???? I have started to set aside a few odds and ends. I can't believe that the time is almost here.

Cathy

Thanks for answering my luggage question. :D

I guess now I have to figure out what goes into the luggage. As you can tell I haven't started packing at all yet. :p
