"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2016 - Have Yourself a Very Mickey Christmas.

This will be our first time going during the holidays. How early can I purchase the tickets for the Christmas party?

Holiday Wishes is a completely different show, beautiful of course. I have noticed over the last few years the crowds were in my mind nuts! And you mostly see it around the parade and wishes. People grab their spots for the early parade and wishes what seems like 1-2 hours before it all begins so it does make it hard to get good viewing unless you want to sit on the ground in your spot for a long time. If those two things are very important for you and youve not seen them I suggest you grab a spot early! We usually miss the first parade and instead do rides and there are usually a few neat characters like the dwarves and now Jack skellington so we do those. The first year the dwarves came out it was pouring and I think we had to wait 45 mins. This year Jack is on our list so we will put the time in for him. I plan a party like I do the parks, make your cant miss list and plan your night around those items. You can find last years guide and times on line at the various sites and plan roughly based on that until its released. Its never varied too much in all the years we've been going (since 2004). I have never went on a friday and never will but have noticed the other nights have sold out a few times in the last few years now, I aim for sun or tues usually and sometimes both! Another tip if you want to see the second parade with a little less crowding head to liberty square/frontierland for some great viewing. We love MVMCP!!
Will the characters be listed in MDE? Are there any character meals that include them (specifically Jack?) We will be doing Minnie's Holiday dine at HS, and I think our cruise will have most of the characters in Christmas gear.
Regarding the parade- I won't sit for 1-2 hours to get a good viewing spot! So hopefully we will still get a decent place to watch! We will definitely skip the 1st parade as well.

This is not meant to be a smart remark, but you can purchase the tickets as soon as they go on sale. The "100 or so" dollar question that no one knows the exact answer to is when do they go on sale.

That was the question I was asking...

The 1st post in this thread will be updated when more is known (sale date, prices, etc.). I'm sure there will be other threads starting up about MVMCP as well. It sort of goes like this:

1. Advanced rumor post(s) on the sale date, prices, hours, events, etc.

2. "Official" Post updated stating the facts (sale date, prices, hours, events, etc.)

3. Various complaint posts: (i.e. "Are they Kidding? $XXX for MVMCP!!!")

When more is known about MVMCP (and MNSSHP) the DIS gets busy. Hope this helps.

Tell me about the Friday before Thanksgiving. Looking at 11/18 before Destination D starts. How do crowds compare? Which parties were sold out last year? Since a PP notes that there is no party on 11/20 (or the following week), does that suggest that 11/18 will be particularly crowded?

I'm late to the thread. Any rumors on when pricing will be announced?

The 11/18 date is a really good question and something that I have planned and replanned around multiple times. Originally I was hoping to go on 11/17, but that date is not an option this year. The most logical plan adjustment is move to 11/18, however I do have a lot of questions on that date. In theory that is a pretty low crowd date, however ...

It is a Friday heading into Thanksgiving week and there is now a huge gap of there being 2 days without the party before and 8 days without the party after that date. Since that is the only party in that 11 day window, it could end up forcing peoples hands on plans and drive everyone to attend that one event. In the end, I probably will still go with that one, however I may wait a few weeks and see what happens. If it sells out very, very quickly, I will probably do 11/15 instead.

Your logic is what I expected. It is the only night I will be able to attend. I'm sure I won't be alone.

Hi all. We are going to WDW December 17-24. So excited. In our party is an older couple with limited park stamina. They will want to go to MK once or twice to experience with their grandkids, but that's about it. I'm thinking MVMCP is the way to go for them instead of full park passes. Thoughts? Has anyone just opted for MVMCP in place of regular tickets? If so, was it a good option?

I think its a great idea.............especially if you don't have park hoppers. You can do one of the other parks in the morning.........and then get into the MK at 4pm for the party. It's exactly the strategy we took last year.........it was perfect! Just keep in mind you're dates are at the end of the party cycle. I would imagine the 22nd will sell out and quite crowded..............you may want to go with the 18th.

Helloo,

Does anyone know what time Holiday Wishes was last year/is it likely to be the same again this year? I am hoping to book a meal at Cali Grill on the 10th Nov and hopefully catch wishes from there. Advice says to book the table about an hour before the fireworks start. Need to make my ADRs in a couple of weeks!

CampbellzSoup - Are you going to add a roll call list? I'm more familiar with MNSSHP and know one is usually created for that. Thank!

We are going to the party on 11/13. This will be our 2nd Christmas Party and it will be the arrival day of our trip. The kids are going to freak out when we get there and they find out our first day will be the MVMCP!

I'm excited to go to my first MVMCP in November. I can either go the first night which is Nov 7th or the second night Nov 8th. For those of you that have gone, is one night better than the other?

We are planning to do this 12/6. It's St. Nicholas Day (which we celebrate in our family) so it will be very special (also heard Tuesday is a good day to go). We are thinking of doing HS during the day and then coming on over for the party! So excited and will keep watch to make sure we can get a ticket as soon as it's available!

I'm wondering the same. We will be doing 1 party night and 1 night watching from our room in CR. Are they usually a different time than regular wishes?

We are planning on going to the first night on 11/7. Doing the three day cruise on the Dream right before. Actually never done the Christmas party before. We have been to the Halloween party once & had a blast.
