"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2016 - Have Yourself a Very Mickey Christmas.

I'm simply saying that this is another event that I will need to pay for, that was free last year. Do I need to be happy about it? I'm not making any judgements about capitalism. Lighten up.[/QUOTE

Sorry, but "Another money grab" insinuates a whole lot more than that.

Here's a question for everybody. We are doing the Christmas Party on Monday 11/7, just doing the one night after a three night Disney Cruise. Staying at one of the Disney resorts just for the one night. Will I be able to get three fast passes to use between 4-7 without having actual park tickets for the day? We will just have the Christmas Party tickets.

Thanks!

Yes. I would do 3:30-6:30 though (may not be available past 6:30).

Right now I have the 11/29 party in our plans. Still debating on if it's a good idea for us with 2 littles (ages 2 & 5) that may not make it late in to the night. We went in February and usually at least 1 of them was asleep by Wishes. However, since my son will be 2, he'll be "free", right? May be a good time to save money there. I guess we'll see how much the price increases and if there are any AP/DVC discounts. I do want to see it show on Main Street!

Waiting on the tickets...does disney announce a day they will start selling them in advance or just say they are now available?

@IronBoss
You are allowed to make 3 FPs selections with just your party ticket... But the fp window ends at 6:30 pm.
I had trouble last year doing it online, even though I had bought my tickets way in advance of FP eligibility. I called WDW at 7 am on the day my window had opened at midnight and was easily able to get the 3 FPs I wanted. Not sure if there will be the same problem online again this year. They may have the wrinkles ironed out!
Hope this helps!

Hi @constantstar,
I look as it as a cost of one day ticket to MK being $105.00 and the party ticket is around $79.00... With that in mind I feel like it's a bargain for the party. The parade and fireworks are amazing and even if your 5 y/o doesn't make it til midnight (I doubt your 2 y/o will) he will be able to see the first parade and maybe even the fireworks before zonking out. If not, his ticket is still a lower price point!
Happy planning!

From my experience, they typically make some sort of announcement saying when you can purchase advance tickets. But with Disney, you just never know man, they've been throwing a lot of curve balls at us for most of the year. So I wouldn't even surprised if they decided to make the announcement of advanced tickets the very day they sell them.

We went last year with our three DD's (2,4 and 7) and since you can enter the park at 4 you have the time to get some rides and characters in. We were able to meet a few characters, see elsa light the castle, watch the christmas stage show and watch the first parade all before 9.

Hi All!

I am thinking about doing the party on the 6th of December. That will be the last night of our trip and also our only day in MK. The way that things worked out with our schedule, we have to do MK on our last day, which isn't the worst thing. Initially I was OK with just going from 9am-7pm and leaving before the party, but I feel like I would have to rush things and now I'm thinking if I want to take it at a leisurely pace that day, maybe I should think about getting tickets for MVMCP, it'll be just myself and my BF.

Thoughts on how busy the park will be before the party that night? Also thoughts on how busy I should expect it to be at the party that night? My initial plans were to do LTT for dinner, close to park close, will I still be able to do that whether I do the party or not?

One more question.....should I expect that this party will sell out? I might make a decision on the day of, depending on what we get accomplished this day.

Question about party fast passes. If we have normal tickets and do a different park the morning of the party (say Epcot) and have fast passes for that other park on my normal package tickets... Can I then make 3 additional fast passes at MK (starting at 4) for that evening since the party ticket is a completely separate ticket. Not sure if we would do a different park the morning of the party but I'm just trying to plan for this Frozen extravaganza that will be beginning at Epcot, assuming if we want to try and fast pass both the ride and M&G we'll need to do 2 different days at Epcot where we were originally only planning 1. Thanks!

Generally the day of a party has a lot lower crowds.
Last year, we did MVMCP on arrival day and then did MK touring on the next party day (we didn't have tickets for that night). We were able to ride 7DMT x2, BTMRR 2x, PPF, Presidents, Philharmagic, Tiki Room, Country Bears, Monsters Inc, Merida, all before lunch at Cosmic Rays. We had an early ADR at BOG which helped with 7DMT. They were letting us on at 8:35 or so. We hit a few more rides (never waited more than 10 minutes, and probably less than 5) and then went back to our resort, relaxed and did a late night at HS (they still had the lights and also got to see the debut of SWA fw) All in all a fabulous day!
Also, I personally recommend picking up your party tickets in advance.
Edited to delete reference to a Friday night!

I'd plan on getting your tickets early just because you're going in December on a Friday night. I will say that we went on our last night and it was a good send off to the trip. We were pretty exhausted the next morning, but we still made it to MK before we left town. The party wasn't too busy last year, but we also went in November.

December 6 is a Tuesday.

Arriving Dec 17, leaving the 23rd. Was looking forward to seeing Holiday Wishes and the parade- looks like I have to pay for it now!
Aren't the fireworks and parade going on at all after the 18th? Granted, I haven't read the entire thread. But, the last party is pretty close to the last party in previous years. Then the Christmas parade and fireworks were scheduled for the nights leading up to Christmas....for everyone.
But, I could be remembering incorrectly.
