Does anyone know if the Boardwalk bakery can create custom made cakes to collect??:confused3

Has anyone used the B.Walk bakery & if so how was the cake?? I would love to see some pics of their creations if anyone has any :goodvibes

The Yachtsman Cakes do not come from the boardwalk bakery - The Yacht and Beach Club have their own in house bakery which bakes for the restaurants, conventions, and room orders for the resort. The Master Pastry Chef who runs the location oversees the Yacht and Beach Club and Boardwalk resorts/ Boardwalk Bakery.

Call 407-934-7000 ask for in-room or private dining and they will take your cake order or use the cake hotline it's really the same - you need to have your ADR time, Restaurant and the name on the ADR plus provide them a credit card number - your credit card will not be charged until your dinner when you receive your cake.

When you check in at the podium just let them know you have a cake order also let your server know at the start of your meal so they are aware.

I'm having my birthday cake there in 2.5 weeks and have 8 there over the last 2 years and everyone has raved about them. They are awesome - looking forward to that weekend!!

Have a great time!

Thanks for the info..Hope you have a great Birthday...Enjoy!!!!!

Here's the cake I picked up at Boardwalk Bakery. I called and asked for the $25 minature castle cake. This is what I received. The cake was not very good, think it was a premade frozen one. I was very disappointed. Plus I was to pick it up on wed and the bakery charged the cake to my cc on tues without telling my when I ordered it.

Thanks, I would have hated to not have a little something for her birthday. I decided to get her the slipper dessert. The picture that I saw earlier said it was dark chocolate slipper? When I called the cake lady said it was white chocolate with chocolate mousse. I asked her twice to make sure. Does anyone know for sure if it is white or dark chocolate at CRT?

Thanks

The slipper dessert has been white chocolate since it's inception but for the past year some guests have reported (surprisingly) getting a dark chocolate slipper at CRT. It was unexpected though and unplanned.

My guess is that you will get a white chocolate slipper.

We used the Boardwalk Bakery for my DH's birthday in Feb. I walked over and picked up the cake one morning, so I know you can pick it up. I ordered a 8 in. white cake with white chocolate icing and filling and have to say it was so good that we plan on ordering another the next time we go, whether we have a birthday or not!

The cake we got was so moist and fresh we ate on it for days and there were 6 of us. Here are some photos:

I ordered one from Boardwalk Bakery at the end of January for my nephew's 5th birthday and I asked for a pirate theme - all i got was plastic pirates on the top and the cake was dry had no flavor and we were supposed to have custard and strawberries in the center and you could count all the strawberries on one hand and the custard was thin in many areas.

Needless to say we won't order again - it was very disappointing since all of my cakes ordered thru the Yachtsman Steakhouse have always been moist, flavorful and all the filling has been equally distributed thru out the cake.

Does anyone have any reports on special order cakes served at Narcoossee's? I've ordered a custom cake from the hotline as a suprise for my husband on our anniversary, and am just curious about everyone else's presentation...? :confused3

:sad2: I'm planning to order my birthday cake from the BW bakery this December for a dinner at Spoodles. Now I'm really worried.

Hopefully they've just been off a couple of times and I'll be able to come back with a good report like this one:

Hi, I was wondering if you can order a custom cake for CRT or just the slipper dessert? We're going for a birthday in January!

Thanks so much -this is a great thread (the cakes all look so yummy)

So I talked to the GF bakery yesterday. The girl didn't seem to know totally what she was talking about. While very nice she didn't seem confident in her answers. She said I could not pick up the cake, I could only have it delivered to one of their restaurants. The cake I want CSR can't make and GF won't deliver it to my resort. I'm a little nervous ordering a cake from another bakery when I know they do an awesome job.

We will be ordering the vanilla cake/white chocolate filling and the white chocolate/milk chocolate marble fondant top. I was quoted $32 for an 8" cake from GF. I'll call the Poly to see if they make it.

We will be eating at the 1900PF later in our week but I just wondered if we'd have the time to eat it all. 8" is a big cake for 2 adults and 2 small kids. I'd like to snack on it all week if I could.

Anyone order a cake from the Poly?

That is correct that the GF (and the other monorail resorts) do not deliver or allow pick ups. It's not an actual bakery you can walk into. It's their own private bakery they use for their weddings, guests, and restaurants.

Choices are very limited at the value and moderate resorts. Your best bet is to call the cake hotline and see what they can do for you OR order through the Boardwalk Bakery and pick it up there.

Good luck.

We are celebrating my inlaws 50th Anniv. in Dec. with a special fireworks dinner at Cali. Has anyone ordered a cake delivery there? We are thinking about the White choc mickey and minney on top?:confused3

I ordered a cake through CBR, which used Boardwalk Bakery, for my son's first birthday. I asked for a cake with Mickey on it. I got this same exact cake (well, except with my son's name).

I need to order my twins mini castle cakes today.....for their birthday next week.

1. I call the main cake hotline
2. Tell them what I want (two mini castle cakes)
3. Tell them when and where our ADR is.
4. Tell them to personalize with Happy Birthday__________and Happy Birthday_______________
5. Pay with credit card now?
6. Will these be at our table or will they show up after our meal and do I need to let the hostess know anything when I give her our ADR info at check in?

Thanks.

1. Yes. Follow the prompts to your restaurant.
2. yes.
3. yes.
4. yes, but they do not always guarantee the personizing. It will probably be (choc) writing on the plate since the cake is so small.
5. Depends on the CM but in my experience they have you pay the day you receive it, at the restaurant. They may take a CC hold though.
6. No, they will not be at your table. You must remind them at the podium and I also suggest telling your waiter as well. It should come at the end of your meal unless you request it at a different time.

Since you want your cake for Cape May Cafe - you can just call Private dining at the Beach Club to order the cake and have it delivered to the restaurant. The Yacht and Beach Clubs have a full in house bakery to support the restaurants and conventions within. The Master Pastry Chef makes awesome cakes I have had 8 in the Yacht and Beach Clubs over the last 2 years - we ordered one from Boardwalk Bakery and January and it just wasn't as good. We are having one at the Yachtsman in 2.5 weeks for my birthday - can't wait!!

Just thought I would let you know.

Have a great time.

Thank you for this info!

Your welcome - When you get to Cape May Cafe - tell the hostess at the podium you have a cake and tell your server at the start of the meal that you ordered a cake for the end of your meal.

They say to call 48 hours ahead I usually call about 1 week out - just so it isn't rushed and it's on their production schedule for the required day.

Have a great time!!

Okay I just order my daughters minicastle cakes!! I didnt realize there was a choice of insides, chocolate cake with chocolate mousse, vanilla cake with I dont remember what or cheesecake.....

SHE asked for their names so it looks good that they will have personalization on their plates - I added that it is their 14th birthday if it is possible to fit that on the plate and she didnt say anything so we will see.....

Thanks for the help everyone....I will post photos.

ONE LAST QUESTION....can I use my DDE discount for these cakes?
