I sent you a PM Pumbaa..I called in-room dining at AKL yesterday and gave you the info they told me. I couldnt remember all the info though..sorry..

I would like to order a cake for my son's 5ht birthday. We will be staying at AKL. Can you please send me the info also?

Does anyone have any pics of the 8" cake?
I just ordered a vanilla one for our upcoming trip @ the Polynesian. We are celebrating our 9th anniversary!

DH and I keep callling and we keep getting the same answers! 6" cake, chocolate or vanilla. GAH!! It's like a blanket answer! We're getting frustrated, all we want is a mini wedding cake! Thats all!

For what location though?

The mini wedding cake is only available at the GF.

We're not even getting *that* far! They just tell us the blanket answer that you can ONLY get a 6", 8" or 10".

I've had that experience it is not enjoyable - I've then asked to speak with a floor supervisor or have them call me to resolve the problem.

Good Luck!! Sending you pixie dust! pixiedust:

Thanks, and I think I recieved your pixie dust just in time. :wizard: I called the boardwalk bakery, and the woman who answered the phone didn't know what I was talking about when I asked for a mini wedding cake, so I ended up talking to someone in the actual bakery, she took my order (and cc#) and said I have to pick it up! Heck, I don't care if she said I had to eat it there in front of her standing on my head!

::phew:: FINALLY got somewhere!

Well, happy early Birthday, then! I am so excited, we haven't been there in two years. I feel like a little kid.

I see you're getting married there in 2009? You'll love it. Best. Weddings. Ever. I want to do a VR there in 5-10 years!

Does anyone have any ideas on how to preserve the large white chocolate castle topper? We just got back from our WDW Vow Renewal and Family vacation and brought home the castle. We had 10 inch marble with Bavarian Creme filling and whipped cream frosting. It was decorated with pink gumpaste roses and large castle. We stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge savannah view club level which gave us access to the itinerary planner who ordered and delivered the cake to our room. We would not have been able to get a cake otherwise. I would post a picture, but do not know how to. Anyway, the cake was beautiful and delicious!!!! Best cake we ever had!!! And only $100.00! Thanks for any suggestions.

Oh my.... mine's long gone. Lost a turret in transit, then repaired for an "at home reception" then it was partially eaten... then eventually tossed! :lmao:

Guess I'm not that sentimental! lol. (I *was* never good at the Bride thing)

Magic Kingdom Dining just called me back about ordering a cake for our ADR at Liberty Tree Tavern on Aug. 26th. We are celebrating our DD and DS's birthday which are Sept. 13th and Sept. 2. The lady was so nice. She asked what size cake, what names, what colors and said we pay for it when we get to the restaurant that day for reservations.

That makes me happy that it is finally taken care of. We leave here in 9 days but arrive in 11 days. I am getting excited.

:cool1: :yay:

Need help deciding-do we order a special cake or just do the standard 6 inch...

Background info---
We will be celebrating DS 8th Birthday at dinner at Chef Mickey's. He loves Goofy and Pluto-his brown eyes get sooooooo big just when you mention to him he might see them there. He'll flip if they actually come over to the table!

Has anyone ever had a cake with anything Goofy and Pluto related on it there? Pictures? Costs?

Does anyone know, are they now sub-ing out all cakes to Sara Lee or just the 6 inch-standard cakes?

There will be 6 of us; Glenn and I, 2 kids (8 & 9) and 2 gandparents. The only person who has a sweet tooth is me! The others can take it or leave it. We'll be going to MSNSSHP immediately afterwards-so carrying leftover cake doesn't sound too fun to do.

I wouldn't mind spending the money on a Goofy or Pluto themed cake, but worry about waste and logistics.

Your thoughts?

Just an FYI...the cake I ordered for my friends FIRST anniversary was never given to them:mad: I am checking my bank statement then calling Disney. How dissapointing!

I know the 6" cake has changed, and I think the price of the 8" has gone up... but does anyone know if the 10" cake is still $40? Thanks in advance!

i just called the cake hotline for chef mickeys and ordered my sons cake.
first off im shocked at the cost of the cake...$21.00 for the 6 inch!!! boy thats a huge price jump!!
but, they did personalize it, which i didnt think they would do. so i was happy with that.
