Official Birthday/Anniversary Cake thread Part II

I called the phone number for Magic Kingdom-Liberty Tree Tavern got a phone message saying leave your name and number and they will get back to you. I tried the email address listed in Post #1 and it got sent back with error message. I even tried it again and made sure I looked to see that the email address was correct, which it was. So I still need to order a cake for the Liberty Tree Tavern for our Tuesday, August 26th reservation. I just haven't had any luck yet. We are celebrating our 2 youngest children's birthday even though they are the beginning of September.

They may only work M-F on the custom cake stuff and wait to return your call tomorrow (unless you didn't leave that info in your message). Also, if you called at a peak meal time, they might not have had the staff to answer the phone right then.

As for the email, I didn't have luck with that either. I mentioned getting a custom cake to Debbi at the Coral Reef when I talked to her and someone magically called me about it. It was a week day though when she called me back.

I'm sure you'll get something amazing!! Be sure to check back and let us know what you finally ordered and how everything went after your trip.

Did you leave a message? They definetly call back. I went through the same thing, thinking I was going to talk to a person, only to keep getting voice mail. But by the 3rd try I just left a message and they called back the next morning. They only work limited business hours on the cake hotline.
LTT was where I wanted a cake for my son but they are unable to provide much in the way of special orders. Chocolate or White cake with chocolate or white frosting. The larger ones can have the edible image on top for an additional fee. That's it, no other choices. Kinda bummed, but it will all work out in the end...plus I don't have to eat cobler...yuck! :)

We just got back and I had ordered two special birthday cakes.

A mickey head cake at LTT for my mom's 80th birthday, and a chocolate cake with "polynesian flowers" for dd's 11th birthday.

I was so disappointed at LTT. I had mentioned the cake when we checked in and they said yes they had the order. Imagine my surprise when they brought the cake out and it was just a chocolate frozen Sara Lee cake. I talked to the server and he said I would only be charged for the $21.00 cake - that wasn't the point! The cake was basically tasteless. We've ordered the mickey head cake before and really liked it. Luckily my Mom was just fine with the cake, it was me who was disappointed.

Better luck at Ohana for dd's birthday. The cake was chocolate with chocolate icing (dd is just like her mom - chocolate, chocolate, chocolate). It had a plastic orchid on it. The cake was delicious.

Still the best birthday cake we have ever ordered was last January for other dd's 9th birthday. It was at the GF, 1900 Park Fare. It was a vanilla cake with vanilla icing and strawberry custard filling. Next time I order a birthday cake I'm going back to the GF!

Glad to hear your Poly cake came out so great!! Be sure to share pictures if you have some!! :goodvibes

Sorry about the LTT experience. I would certainly be sending an email/letter about that. The part that gets me the most is that you're *only* charged $21!!! They didn't give you the cake you wanted - it should have been free! :rolleyes1 That's just unbelievable! I would have certainly been upset too!

We made ressies at GFC in Dec just so I could try a cake from the GF bakery! :goodvibes I hope it stands up to the hype. I can't wait for it!

They will Definitely call you back! Make sure to leave a message!

Has anyone ever seen the edible arrangements? In particular the fruit arrangements. Does anyone know if that's an option instead of cake? My mom is on WW so that is a better option for her. Thanks!

Edible Arrangements are done through an outside company, but there is one near WDW that will deliver. They look great...I keep wanting to order one but can't find any excuse to do so. Enjoy!

Does anyone know if there is a list of fillings available for the cakes? I know cake flavors are white and chocolate. And I've seen some say things like raspberry mouse, white chocolate mouse, but wondered if there is a list of all fillings to choose from. (GF bakery is who we'll use)

Here is a list of all the cake and filling flavors available for wedding cakes made by the Grand Floridian Bakery - I don't see why they wouldn't also be available for birthday cakes. (Note that cakes made by the other bakeries may not be available in all these flavors.)

:cloud9: Looking at all of those fillings and options is making me crave cake.

I know the 1st page says 72 hours notice, so if we are on 9/13 can I just go to the Boardwalk Bakery and order my cake there when we arrive for the 18th? Or is it fairly easy to order over the phone with them? We move to the BC on the 17th and wanted to get a cake for our dinner on the 18th at Cape May Cafe when my daughter arrives.

Since you want your cake for Cape May Cafe - you can just call Private dining at the Beach Club to order the cake and have it delivered to the restaurant. The Yacht and Beach Clubs have a full in house bakery to support the restaurants and conventions within. The Master Pastry Chef makes awesome cakes I have had 8 in the Yacht and Beach Clubs over the last 2 years - we ordered one from Boardwalk Bakery and January and it just wasn't as good. We are having one at the Yachtsman in 2.5 weeks for my birthday - can't wait!!

Just thought I would let you know.

Have a great time.

We are staying at YC in early Dec and I think I want to get a cake for my hubby. Would their bakery have the same flavors listed above for the GF or something totally different in offerings?

Cake flavors and fillings vary by cake size your best bet is to call in room dining and find out what is available for what you size you want. They don't offer as many as are available for wedding cakes.

I have gone through the old cake thread and most of this one:

I saw the picture of the "cupcake" that you get for "free" if it is your birthday at CRT, although it looked more like a dome instead of the regular cupcake that we have gotten before at other character dining.

Anybody been to CRT recently and can tell me what DD would receive for her birthday, she LOVES cupcakes, not sure if the dome like thing is cupcake or if that was something special?

HELP!

I know that when I was ordering my cake last week, I was going with the 8" cake, they offered me white or chocolate cake, and a few icing options. Fillings weren't mentioned. When I asked about it being customized, they told me I had to do the 10" cake for that...well, that's what I needed to do, so I ordered the 10" instead. Then, there were many cake flavor options, and they offered the fruit type fillings and various icing otions. I think that you have to order those larger cakes to get all the options. Kind of stinks but what can you do?!

I haven't been to CRT lately but I believe that it is entirely up to the CM as to if you get anything for your birthday or any other type of celebration. Nothing is guaranteed for a birthday, anniversary, first trip, etc. unless you prearrange and pay for something. But a lot of restaurants will do something most of the time, it might be confetti on the table or it might be a cupcake just no way to positively know beforehand.

This birthday dessert is NOT guaranteed. It would be a "Pixie Dust" moment however, it is more like a cupcake than cake.

We had a very quick wedding last year, with no real wedding cake. We will be at WDW for our first aniversary..We are dining at Citricos. I'd love to get a nice cake for our 1st anniversary. I had a great cake there before on a Wishes cruise...Hopefully we can get a nice anniversary cake on this trip.

thanks for listing both the cake flavors and fillings at GF - didn't realize there were so many choices (even though it depends on cake size which are available)

Thanks, I would have hated to not have a little something for her birthday. I decided to get her the slipper dessert. The picture that I saw earlier said it was dark chocolate slipper? When I called the cake lady said it was white chocolate with chocolate mousse. I asked her twice to make sure. Does anyone know for sure if it is white or dark chocolate at CRT?

Thanks

Where does a cake come from if you order one for the Yacthsman? Does it come from the Boardwalk Bakery?

We are planning an anniversary dinner and DH would like to go to the Yachtsman...Just wondering how the cake will be?

Please advise...Thanks :goodvibes

The Yachtsman Cakes do not come from the boardwalk bakery - The Yacht and Beach Club have their own in house bakery which bakes for the restaurants, conventions, and room orders for the resort. The Master Pastry Chef who runs the location oversees the Yacht and Beach Club and Boardwalk resorts/ Boardwalk Bakery.

Call 407-934-7000 ask for in-room or private dining and they will take your cake order or use the cake hotline it's really the same - you need to have your ADR time, Restaurant and the name on the ADR plus provide them a credit card number - your credit card will not be charged until your dinner when you receive your cake.

When you check in at the podium just let them know you have a cake order also let your server know at the start of your meal so they are aware.

I'm having my birthday cake there in 2.5 weeks and have 8 there over the last 2 years and everyone has raved about them. They are awesome - looking forward to that weekend!!

Have a great time!
