Question for those of you that have been doing the FD for a while. Has anyone ever NOT been able to get FD- at all-at any resort?? Even if the resort you ended up getting wasn't your first choice?

I would be ready for either. Try to modify, but if your room type is not included, be ready to make a new reservation. Don't cancel your first reservations until you have your new one in place.

How does this work if my package is already completely paid in full? Would I still have to make a new reservation with a new deposit and can they just take the money I paid for my first package and pay off the second? I shouldn't have a problem though hopefully, I'm booked at Sports with 6 day park hopper..

my options are now
Start date 27th of November (perfect dates for us) or start date of 7th or 8th of dec(when's the rumored date of FD start this week again?) . for 8 or 9 nights.

I think my family can deal with the pop rooms even with small space. We also have two small fold up tables for our tablets/laptops so if we get the new room losing the table won't hurt us so bad. these tables fold up real small. We want to somehow take one day off but do not know if it will happen. If it does it will not stay in the room all day. we want to go eat at Disney springs and walk around look at resorts too.

I have never been in that position. I'm sure someone here can answer that. (I have learned so much from the people on this thread.) If not, call and ask. Disney people are very helpful. Hope it all works out for you!

Yeah !!! my DH is taking the kids to watch SKY Champions league game in our town's sportclub. Meaning guess who gets the TV recliner, TV, fire and will watch the latest DISunplugged ( where FD is a topic). Me!!!
wait, they are on Amazon fire? Or do you just go through your web browser?

We have chosen to go with RO discounts instead of FD. Some of the room types (Pirate, Club Level, Park view, etc.) are more expensive, to the point that RO is a better deal for us. We then just add dining to our package.

Pondering....... is Disney is smart line the airlines and will allow overbooking of resorts and allow more FD bookings. They have to be getting feedback on all these double bookings. Imagine checking in to POP " sorry we sre oversold, but we can offer you a room instead at the Poly" !!!
I heard they can do that, but they give you a room at one of the mods.

No no, it didn't get ugly. I could just see that outsiders came and had slightly negative things to say (like how crazy we all are, or how none of this really matters). It didn't get ugly at all, I just don't want it to!
I think I read things like that about 465 pages ago briefly

Kind of off topic....but we're all here for the food right?!?! Has anyone eaten at T-Rex? Yay or nay? My boys are 4 (next week:bday:) and 5.5. It's not too scary is it? Also, they never seem to have availability online but I've heard if you call the restaurant directly they have lots of tables. Any truth to that?

We always go this time of year, and I've always found that the crowds aren't bad until about the 15th or 16th. Every year is a little bit different though.
We went last year from 12/17 to 12/22. MK opened at 7am... so we got there as soon as they opened and it was not crowded at ALL. We had 7DMT fp, so we did other rides. (You can get a lot done from 7am-noon!) I did notice that on 12/21 around lunchtime MK was SOOO crowded. But the other days and other parks were not too bad, as long as you get there early and have a plan.

We are booked through a TA. Found out after I booked that being a TA is her second job. Is it wrong that I emailed her and asked if she was planning to take off on Monday to focus on her FD responsibilities? I have not got a response yet.

Do you typically have to purchase tickets at full price for the RO discount? My intuition tells me no, but wanted to confirm.

The answer is no. You need to purchase tickets from Disney to get Free Dining. No other discounts are allowed.

You can do a Room Discount and combine it with the Canadian Ticket offer or get discounted tickets from another seller but no FD.

This happened to me in February. My husband and I took a child-free quick trip to Disney. I have a relative who was a cast member and she got us a discount on a preferred room at All Star Sports. We arrived at the resort around 2pm and our room wasn't ready, which was fine, so we dropped our bag and headed to the Poly for lunch, then into Magic Kingdom. Around 5 p.m. I received a call from All Star Sports saying they no longer had the room that we paid for available. The woman on the phone said it was my lucky day and they were offering me an upgrade to Coronado Springs! I hesitated, and then I said I actually wasn't interested in saying there, as we had already stayed there and it was too big for us. She said she would check to see what other rooms they had available at other resorts. She called back about five minutes later and said "well I was able to get you into a deluxe Resort!" I was really excited, until she told me it was Saratoga Springs. I told her again I wasn't interested in that Resort. She said to give her a few minutes and she would call me back again, and then about two minutes later we got a text saying that our room at All Star Sports was ready for us :)

I'm sure they though I was being a brat, but we were only there 2 nights and didn't want to stay at a huge resort.

We ended up with the perfect room at Sports, so it all worked out in the end for us. And I assume someone else was offered an upgrade they wanted.

I wouldn't think it was too scary. I would hope that the dis boards have done a review or maybe if you look on Youtube you can see a review of it online. Wish I could help but I've never been there.

We have eaten there twice. Once when my son was 2 and then when my son was 5 and daughter 2. It can be a little loud depending on where you are seated, but my kids loved it. We went once on a Sea World day and the other trip on a day off from parks. I called both times and had no trouble getting a reservation (The first trip I called a few weeks ahead of time after we decided to meet family who live near Orlando- 8 people and no problem getting the time we wanted.). I was told they only open so many reservations up on the Disney site, I guess because anyone can go and eat there since it isn't in a park or anything. I don't know if that is actually why it is that way or not??
