Offical free dining watch 2008

Anyone with a Disney Visa call during the first three days of the promo (when only visa ppl can) and not get the dates/hotel they wanted? Just curious if I should come up with a backup plan? Getting really excited! September calender comes out in 4 days.

You are referring to previous years........right???? We are Disney Visa cardholders and we are not aware of 2008 dates being offered yet for us. I have not read this entire thread, though, so maybe I have missed something. (I was referred to this thread on a dining board thread so that is why I haven't read the whole thing.) From what I can remember (sad that I have trouble remembering this ), the offer opened to Disney Visa members in mid to late March before it went to the public in April. Do any other Visa holders remember????? I am hoping that we will know something within the next few weeks.
I do remember that when I called the Disney Visa people, though, that most of them knew less about the offer than the DISers. I called the day that the offer came up and the people that I talked to at Disney Visa couldn't tell me anything. They told me to call WDW.

OK! I am going either way but it would be such a great thing if we had free dining! Never had free dining before but I am really looking foward to it! I really can't wait til April and hope that my hopes aren't SQUASHED!!!!

In the past you just called the regular Disney number and booked using your Disney VISA for the deposit.

Count me in, too. We're booked at PORS 9/6-9/13 and have the Disney Visa so-here's hoping. If anyone knows, what's the deal w/ this 40% off deluxe rate? Who's the code supposed to apply to? 'Cause I would so upgrade...anyway, thanks in advance

Yes go ahead and make your ADR's now. You can always add the dining to your package later. Some hard to get ADR's may be gone or you may not get the time you want.

And you can always cancel them IF we find out that there is no free dining and you don't want to eat at all the place you first picked.

Thanks. We were booking two vacations around that time so I couldn't remember the dates. We booked one trip in March and one in April. I thought that we booked the Disney trip first, but it must have been the other trip first and the Diseny trip in April.

saved a bunch w/ that
The CSR said that I could just "rebook" if they offer "free dining"
If they do can you still use the 40% off ??? What would work better $$ wise ?
I will have to have DH be on the phone at the same time so one of us can get thru if they do offer this .

How many people are in your party? Add up the per day cost of the dining plan and compare it to the $$ you have off each night of your reservation. Go with the better number.

We are bouncing back in September (Pop) with free DDP and cannot wait!

We were not allowed (tried three times) to extend it into October at all (we HAD to, basically were told when it ended, it's over) but I do know others that were able to take it into October!

The UK already booked 2008 free dining (a good sign), but they had to book moderate and up, no value resorts.

I am hoping for the free DDP to be offered to all again, and to those at Values, because if so... my sister and her family will join us!

I know the changes with the DDP were not positive by any means (- gratuity and - app), however, free DDP is still an amazing value!

Our bounceback is Pop, preferred, at rack rate ($94.00 a night), but three adult level DDP's are included for that price! It is an unbelievable deal!

Last year (2007) was an even better deal for us! We were booked, free dining, in a standard AS Music room and got the free upgrade to SSR! It was our first trip to WDW and it was a dream come true!

OK! I have question? If I were to change my trip from July to August and say I switched them to August 17th thru 21th what do you return free dinning pros think my chances are of getting free dining? Just curious!? Any input would be appreciated I really could go the week prior to school starting which is the 8/25/08 thru 8/30/08 I'd rather go the week prior though!And which resorts were the free dining offered at?

Those of us that were offered bounce back free dining for 2007 we given dates to choose from later than what you desire... sorry (8/30 - 9/27 if I remember correctly)!

I would also love it earlier than we have booked, it will be my son's senior year of HS, and we have homeschooled the last two years but he decided he wanted to go back for his senior year. We are taking him out of his HS for two weeks (hope the school approves, if not I guess he is truant)! Ugh!

In 2007 it began 8/26, 2008 it begins 8/30 (at least for bounceback). I think the window has narrowed yearly!

1) Once we find out that free DDP is available for Sept 2008, is it best to book online or call WDW directly to make reservations?

2) Does anyone know what Disney resorts would not be participating in the free DDP? say, from previous years?

I think that most resorts participate, they just have a limited number of rooms for that promotion.

As far as calling or booking online? I would try both. Last year we were on hold for over an hour trying to get through.
