Im with you cinderly I just switched to 8/26 thru 8/31 and we are staying at csr hoping for free dining! Really hoping this will save us $$$$ . We are currently staying at CSR and if free dining is announced and it is our time frame I am going to see if they offer AKL and what the diff in$$$ would be! If it is possible to swing if there is availability! If not we shall stick with CSR the pool is what caught my daughter's eye!

We had free dining last year for the last week of August. I booked this year for that same week thinking the promo would be the same time frame. I think I might cry if they don't offer it until September. I just don't see any way we could swing it without. It really helped last year, and I'm not sure we could have done it otherwise.

So I was so distressed about this that I called a CM and asked a bunch of questions. It seems like every CM has a different story, but he said the marketing people see how many rooms are booked and decide from there if it's worth it to do the promo earlier or not. I mentioned the bounce back offer from last year and how it starts on the 30th, but he just repeated himself pretty much. He also told me I'd do better with free dining than with a 40% off the room code (which I was glad he told me because I suck at math).

Anyway, I guess it's wait and see. And pray.

Well you have all the variables you need, right? If you get free dining, you'll be paying rack rate.

OK! I think I got it here so you would see the biggest impact w/ a value resort.

Right! That's why a lot of people stay at values with free dining. You're giving up the smallest discount to get the free dining.

If you stay at a deluxe, the room discount you give up could wash with the free dining you get.

Sounds good! well I'll wait to see if they offer it and maybe we'll do ASMO never stayed there or try for POP ! I lUV POP! But ASMU is a close runner up to POP!

I'm currently booked POR for last week in Sept (to catch the two days of value season + food&wine festival overlap), but if free dining goes public I'm gonna try to snag an earlier week to catch it. Would work out to about an equivalent 33% discount for us, better than the 20% we're getting with a AAA room-only resv.

Has the free dining period ever overlapped the food & wine festival? snack credits for F&WF booth food what a concept!

yes you can use snack credits for free dining-not sure how it works i wasnt on the plan then i had an ap with the dde but i saw the snack credit symbol at the f&wf booths

I am not too worried that All Star Sports will book that quickly. I have a Disney Visa as well, so I am hoping to be one of the first ones to get to book.

I have a disney visa too so I'm crossing my fingers.... someone earlier in the thread mentioned not being notified by email by disney visa about the free dining promotion. Does anyone think it would help to call Disney Visa in March and ask them what they know? DH and I aren't planning on going to Disney this year but I'm hoping if free dining is offered I can change his mind. We had free dining last year and it was awesome!

My first time going to WDW was in August 2006 during free dining! I hope they have it around the same time this year so it will be before school! I stayed in the FW cabins, I had the best time of my life!! Please give us free dining this year!

Anyone with a Disney Visa call during the first three days of the promo (when only visa ppl can) and not get the dates/hotel they wanted? Just curious if I should come up with a backup plan? Getting really excited! September calender comes out in 4 days.
