Its me again..
Since this is my first cruise I am wondering if the food at Castaway Cay is part of the cruise package or do we have to purchse the food separately. I am aware you pay for excursions but what about the food? Just wondering how much cash I have to bring with me. Thanks for any info.

now awol is going to raz me cuz of "the barkely curse" (this is our 3rd disney cruise and we have yet to make it to castaway cay cuz of hurricanes on our prior 2 cruises) but i can say that the food on castaway cay is included (no charge) i DID get to eat some on the last cruise (cuz they cook it on board the ship for some items)-it was some very tasty bbq.

disnurse-from what i saw on the other thread about the new kids area you should not have any noise issues-it's only open limited hours, and is not open very late into the evening.

well all of our coinage is loaded into a rugrat's pillowcase to haul to the bank, we did not weigh it, but we estimate it to be about 30 pounds (thus it is being transported in a small rolling suitcase)-it will be interesting to see how much it ends up being.

Good Morning Ship Mates --- one week until I start packing for the November Eastern 7 night cruise -

Can't wait - can't wait - ca't wait....

I was reading through the list of what to do before you cruise and it is all wrong - I does not say, for eample, prepare and clean-up from hurricane.

Nor does it say have arguement with cat, who wants turkey cooked from hurricane freezer thaw, spill turkey juice all over kitchen floor, clean-up turkey juice, which is now all over your clothes, shoes and the "kitchen sink". Find out cat has thrown up - clean up after cat.......buy pancake make-up to cover bruises from hurricane clean-up....I think I need to go talk to this "Dave" guy and his ultimate lists.........

But he does have a point - need to cancel newspaper....

I don't think we need to do a live thread. If something is substantially different from the other recent cruises, we can definitely post that (and supply pics). But, I think the last couple of cruises have done such a great job, they would be hard acts to follow! I can't imagine what would be substantially different from our cruise anyway.

7 days and a wakeup and we're outta here!!!

I agree - besides if we do not post alive thread - more time on deck to swin, sun, and drink!!!!

I agree.....no live thread .....at least I would not want anyone to feel like they had to take precious vacation time to do so!

There WILL be people looking for one from us, though....with so many changes and so many people up in arms about the new boarding process!

Something tells me staying silent makes people wonder even more!
If we did do one though, it would have to be entitled, "Live! From the Jerks Only DIS'er Cruise!"

Oh no, DisNurse - it would be "Live! From the BEST CRUISER ever - eat your heart out that you are not with us COOL Folk!!!!!!

I know awhile back there was discussion about where to pack film and disposable cameras. I am sorry but for the life of me I can not remember where to put them. Is it the carry-on or in the checked luggage??? HELP!!

DO NOT - DO NOT DO NOT PUT FILM IN CHECKED LUGGAGE. Please place film in carry on bag. If you are goring through several inspections, you may wish to have them inpsected by hand. They will tell you that the x-ray does not hurt film. that is true - one x-ray will not hurt film up to 1000 asa (but I even question 800). Several inspections will hurt film. I posted the actual blurb from the Kodak website a while back on this subject.

One tropical wave can be found in the eastern Atlantic along 39 west. south of 16 north, moving west at about 15 mph. A second wave is in the central Atlantic along 50 west, south of 16 north, moving west at about 17 mph. A wave in the central Caribbean is along 75 west, south of 20 north, and moving west at around 10 mph.

A front and its associated area of low pressure will stall from just south of Bermuda into the central Bahamas later this week. This could wind up being a breeding ground for a couple of areas of low pressure that could develop some tropical characteristics over the warm waters of the Atlantic.

Could develop, smoud develop - GO AWAY!

Hey Guys,

Unfortunately we will have the laptop with us - self employed, and we have just opened another office which is time consuming at the moment,,,plus we have to make sure all of our employees are actually working while we are off playing

But, I think when we're on board we're going to purchase the unlimited internet connection and use their computers.

Don't think I'll be doing a live thread. I'm sure our computer time will be spent on work.

#2 - the Florida pins when you show then the ship.
#3 - the 50th Anniversary pins - when you have put all the suitcases outside the door at night and taken down the door signs and everyone is so sad - (you could wait until the next morning but it is so hectic then).

I am too on this cruise, my sister is "ALBARRANFAMILY" and I have to clear something up, I am 32 NOT 34 and my other sister is 34 not 36. Ok, with that out of the way. I have been reading some of the posts. Great information!! You guys sound like fun. I can't wait to go on this cruise My prayers go out to the families in FL. Some info about me: 14 DD 7 DS I am a police/fire/ems dispatcher in Texas and I have worked nights for the past 10 years. This is my first cruise ever so I don't know what to expect. Your information on all the posts is so tremendously helpful.

i am going to go SOAK in a scalding hot tub! i am at my wit's end over dd's school work!!!!!!!!!!! the teacher sent home a list (at my request) of what she would miss about a month ago, but now everything is messed up (either they did'nt get as far in something or jumped ahead in something else)-i fear a toxic meltdown at tomorrow's p/t conference (i am armed with her notes and whatever did'nt get done by now will get partialy done on the plane and the rest can wait until thanksgiving vacation!).

i already broken into my "back-up" chocolate supply-i can tell you that both the "mudslides" and the "smores" will be very good

so can i assume that i can leave all of our long sleeved clothes at home? it sounds like it's still hot and muggy back there. we'll just wear sweats and tshirts on the plane and be thankful that the shuttle will drop and pick us up at the curb (in the event the rain/wind continues here).

i must confess-i am looking forward to tomorrow nite-i have a massage schedualed for when dh gets home in hopes of unknotting all of the stress in my neck and back (dh gets to go friday after work).

well as tigger would say "TTFN" (ta-ta for now).

Remember - extra credit if she writes up a great report (hee hee - with postcards - but don't tell the teacher yet) from where other select kids are from - and produces a map to boot!!!

Oh my gosh, I forgot to print the maps......It will be done today...

A couple of answers - the food is included, the "fun" drinks are not - BUT anything Disney does not require cash....(Wish they gave it to you but) You use yor Key to the Wrold Card - a credittype card that is your door key and provides for charging of everything. I think that it may even include a tip - so check and see - you can add extra when deserved, of course.

The one BAD thing about the cruise, is the presentation of that bill at the end......We drank how many Margaritas???????

Finished the door magnets, not as as I would like, but what the heck.........Best I could do right now....

Guess I'll have to go on another cruise to complete the l00k.

I don't have time to keep up on the Accuweather stuff as much as I would like. Is Accuweather what you use for the latest/greatest? Is there something better? I still occasionally go to Dave's DCL site and choose "weather" down at the very bottom.....you can click on the days you will be where on the 7 night Eastern and it gives you a current forcast.

Can you please keep us all in the latest loop?
We don't leave until the early AM of the 10th either.....lots of time, unfortunately, for weather choas to form!.......I want Florida to warm up the beginning of next week but that doesn't like the case.

Remember to dress like Shrek, in layers, like an onion. I guess the long sleeves would depend on your comfort zone! I've got a pretty wide comfort zone (and a good layer of blubber), so am sure I won't need more than t-shirts and a light sweatshirt for any weather anomalies. Not that you've ever been there, but CC averages for Nov are 69-80 , well inside my comfort zone! My flatlander kids, on the other hand, will probably need a parka, mittens, and a space heater if the temperature drops below 81!

Welcome! I am so glad that you cleared up the age thing, because I thought you were really OLD! Now, I know better!

This is our first cruise, too. But, I expect that this group could have fun on a camel ride through the Sahara desert. So, having fun on a Dis cruise should be NO problem at all!

Where are you at in Texas, if you don't mind my asking?
