November 12, 2005....7 Night Eastern...Who Else?

Lot's to do! Parent teacher day, shopping for meds, birthday shopping, and of course packing!!
And, we just found out my daughters school has some 1/2 days next week! What! I wanted the whole day to pack, alone.....is that possible! Is there a thread for packing 101? Gosh, it's terrible being the newbie!!! :earboy2:

Did get the chocolate and wine!! Guess that means something!

Yes, on the dreams and I can't believe it's 10 days!

Raise you hand if you are bringing a laptop or plan to spend time on the Internet (while onboard)........go ahead....raise your hand high like they tell you to do in 1st grade. :teacher:

Is anyone so into this that they are planning on doing a "Live Thread" from our cruise? :confused3 Just curious.

We are already a hated bunch, so staying quiet could be okay too. :rotfl:

We are not bringing a laptop, not surfing the net, and don't plan to be even near a computer for two full weeks. I think it might about kill my DH! Computers are his life! :badpc:

I will definitely have mine. I'm a one woman company & I can't be completely shut off from the operation for 10 days. I hadn't thought yet about posting a "Live" thread. We'll see how tired I am at the end of the day.

No computers for us either. I am looking forward to no TV, no phone, and no computer. Just sand, sea and sunshine for us, and maybe a few Disney movies and shows. :) It is getting very hard to concentrate on everyday life when you are so excited about a cruise. I stood at the ironing board for 4 and a half hours today and didn't mind one bit. NOw that, my friends is Disney magic. :rotfl2:

I have promised reports to make for our May 2006 First Double Dip Cruise, but they will not receive any live reports -- laptop will remain at home, and I will rely on an old fashioned journal to compile when I return.....

Vacation is no stress, no :badpc: for me - no phones BUT that said I certainly understand that self business folk have no choice and must stay in touch......

Speaking of stress, the loss of a week at work is causing me more than my fair share....anyone out there want it??? I'll gladly give it away...

Sounds like we have some terrific kids on this boat. (ship?)

I don't think we need to do a live thread. If something is substantially different from the other recent cruises, we can definitely post that (and supply pics). But, I think the last couple of cruises have done such a great job, they would be hard acts to follow! I can't imagine what would be substantially different from our cruise anyway.

7 days and a wakeup and we're outta here!!! :cool1:

I agree.....no live thread .....at least I would not want anyone to feel like they had to take precious vacation time to do so!

There WILL be people looking for one from us, though....with so many changes and so many people up in arms about the new boarding process!

Something tells me staying silent makes people wonder even more!
If we did do one though, it would have to be entitled, "Live! From the Jerks Only DIS'er Cruise!" :rotfl2:

back from my errands. got the kiddies dress shoes (hope they fit!), got the last perscription to drop off, hit barnes and noble for some reading material (any "junie b. jones" fans out there-we will have the latest book) and GOT CHOCOLATE (and back up chocolate so i don't eat the cruise chocolate :goodvibes ) and "belly flops".

no computing on vacation for us, i had to use the internet on our last cruise and it killed me how may minutes it ate up logging in, conecting to a site...$$$.

i have both parent/teacher conferences tomorrow as soon as school gets out-so after i lug all the change to the bank and trade it for paper i will hit a fast food to keep the kiddies occupied.

we are at about 2 days and 12 hours from departure  i start packing tomorrow.

Sounds like people are also dying to hear about and see the new "kid area" on Deck 2 that no one seems to have reported about yet.

Maybe it's not done yet? :confused3

We'll find out soon! :cool1:

Hello all,

Was wondering if anyone is having nightmares yet? I had one last night were I forgot to pack any cloths for the cruise. :earseek: Guess that means I need to start packing soon. :teeth:

As for the diet thing. Still being good as I am currently on maintainance for weight watchers and will become a lifetime member next Wednesday if I don't go over 2 lbs of my goal wieght. :goodvibes

Nickole...congrats on WW Lifetime :cheer2: (I know it's not till next week, but I know you'll make it)! :cheer2: What an awesome accomplishment! I started WW earlier this year with the intention of losing bunches before the cruise...however somehow over the summer I got sidetracked unfortunately. :guilty: Oh well...I am 10 lbs lighter than a year ago! I'm hoping all you exercise maniacs are going to get me moving on the cruise and then when I get home I'll stick with it! :cool1:

As for computer time onboard, I may get online long enough to send a quick e-mail to my mom, just so she knows we are a-ok...she is a worrier (has never traveled much and she absolutely can't understand why anyone would want to be in the middle of the ocean with no land in sight)!! :scratchin

We will be on the Internet, as we will be communicating with our DD's while we are gone. Need to keep tabs on their comings and goings and to make sure the house is still there when we return.

No live posts from us. That's too much like work.

So-why are the 11/12 cruisers a hated bunch? Seems like a nice group to me. :confused3

I had a window shot out and a few of my coworkers ended up in the hospital, paint ball shot in the face. Most of our fleet was damage by eggs or pellet shots.
Wow...I never knew how dangerous it got. We are glad that you are safe. Take Care and stay safe only a few more days until we leave.

THE MOUSE IS OUT OF THE BAG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yup, we pulled it off tonight! dh opened his birthday bag with a grumpy tshirt, cruise docs and a "weekly world news" (airplane reading material)-he read the card out loud for all of us to hear that he was gifted with the wdw and cruise as a birthday present and could choose 3 people to go with him. ds started begging "me dad, oh me dad", dh starts naming friends, co-workers, the cat....ds starts to lose it when dh mentions taking ds's favorite teddy bear...ds is now on his hands and knees with hands in a prayer position..dh names his first choice-ME. the waiting is agony as dh starts naming other possible traveling companions....finaly ds finds out he is chosen! then me ("the evil mom") says "wait he can't go, he would have to miss school for nine days". crestfallen ds suddenly shouts out "wait, let's call my teacher, she'll let me go i know she will!" :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc and starts running for the phone. we assure him it's o.k., if he promises to do any work she sends along we're sure she'll let him go-he does'nt need to interupt her dinner.

happiness abounds at our house-ds tells anyone calling with birthday wishes for dh about "dad's present he's gonna share", dh is napping, dd is now able to say "disney world" out loud, and I CAN PULL OUT THE SUITCASES   WE LEAVE AT 4:45 A.M. SATURDAY!!! :earseek:

oh, and i upgraded our rental car to a small suv-the idea of us going anywhere with a limited amount of luggage just aint gonna happen.

so are we all going to ron juans wearing dis green shirts that say "I  disnurse"? :earsboy:
Great story! I am so glad it all went well. Good luck with your final packing.
