Not refunding full deposit?

We made a reservation for our August trip in early March by making a 200 dollar hold deposit.

We then found the same package to be almost 400 dollars cheaper if we booked through AAA, so we called and cancelled the package we booked with CRO.

When I spoke with the CM, they indicated that our entire deposit would be refunded, as we were more than 90 days out before the trip.

Today we see that we were only credited 110 of the 200 dollars back to our checking account.

Can anyone explain the policy? Did Disney goof or did we?

I'd call back an ask. My understanding is that you have to cancel before 45 days out for a full refund on the deposit, but I could be wrong.

It was my understanding that I could cancel my package at any time fore medical reasons, and I would be refunded everthing expect the trip insurance. Also if I choose to cancel prior to the last payment, any payments made would be refunded expect for the trip insurance, my guess is that they $110 you got back was the depost less the insurance.

I thought all deposits were less insurance....didn't matter when you canceled.

Yes--it sounds like you had trip insurance on the reservation, which is non-refundable so you lose the $89.90 for the insurance (that is for 2 adults)

The first thing I do in any call to CRO making a reservation is write down the name of the reservation "cast member".

The second thing I do is tell them I DON'T WANT TRIP INSURANCE!!!

I also verify trip insurance has been removed at the end of the call.

The CRO computer seems to automatically add trip insurance to any reservation, and if they forget to mention it, you get it.

I had the same thing happen to me...didn't know about the "automatic" trip insurance plugged in. I spoke with a cast member, told them I was very disappointed in Disney considering that I was still booking a trip costing several thousand dollars and would expect a company of their caliber to be honest and give me my money back. Well, they did...I was also very sappy and told them the policy was very "un-Disney" like. I got my money credited back to my account. Maybe you want to call them and try to persuade them to give it back to you.

If you make a ressie for Room only you will not be charged trip insurance...it only for packages...
