It has nothing to do with the actual film merits. The movie was a cultural phenomenon, and it isn't stopping. Some merchandise is on shelves, but most things are still moving amazingly well. I know a number of kids that are still singing and talking about Frozen. Some kid was singing out loud at a road side rest yesterday! Friends are headed to WDW so the kids can meet Anna and Elsa. It won't come to an end. This will be their "Lion King" for the rest of their lives, only it will be bigger than Lion King.
It is already becoming clear how big and unusual a "thing" Frozen is, but Christmas will tell us more - Frozen products are already expected to lead the Christmas sales by a huge margin. And 5 years from now it will be a given that Frozen is a permanent huge part of the Disney canon. If you love it, that's a good thing. If you don't, sorry. In other words: Get use to the Frozen train running, and running, and running, and...
Couldn't agree more. This being said I am very surprised Disney never made a lion king attraction like a dark ride or something. Yes they have the show but that was a fantastic movie. Frozen tom an animated movie stand point was very good too, there is no doubting that otherwise it wouldn't be doing what it is doing. My younger sisters love the movie. Im sure winter will be big again for frozen as Disneyland is getting new frozen things coming this fall and rumors are swirling about global parks getting frozen things as well. DCA is supposedly getting a sing a long. I really wish they actually did something better for Frozen at WDW than just changing maelstrom. Frozen deserves its own ride in fantasyland.
